  1. I have .58 round balls, conicals, and minnies. Be happy to give you some
  2. I have 3 different sets of electronic muff's. all under $40. If you ever make it to a OB match i'll let you try them and see if you like them
  3. the jag broke inside the barrel. It was not just a patch. the patch slipped at the bottom. when a patch does that it bunches up and becomes very hard to pull out. so from pulling on it so much the treads of the jag snapped off.
  4. Can't make tomorrow. Out of 25. One round
  5. any idea's when the next one is?
  6. It's not that I can't break clay's. I went to thunder mt the other day I was 10 hits on trap, 12 on skeet. I just think like a pro watching me I could do better with a little instruction. I'd love to come out to one of the shoots though. Last couple you had were always on a day I had a muzzleloader qualifier lol
  7. I started with a H&R handi when I was about 9. Single shot. Still got it. For my sons I bought another one just like mine but it came with 20 gauge rifled and smooth barrel and a .410 barrel. I'd look for something like that. You can start on the .410 then ease to the 20. I also have a Rossi combo that's a .22 and .410 combo. It's very very small. If your kid is smaller that would be the gun for him. I could get you more info on it if you'd like. I bought it on the trader for like $100 a couple years back
  8. I'll be at old bridge tomorrow, but i'm all tied up in the muzzleloader NRA qualifiers. Shotguns always over by the time I'm done there.
  9. Hey guys, been trap and skeet shooting a couple times. I'd like to maybe get a lesson or two to try to become a little bit better shooter at it. anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
  10. field gauge is all you really need. a go is basically the same as a round. If it closes with a field, I don't recommend shooting it.

    sks chambering

I'm not worried about breaking it. I know they can handle it. I was just curios if anyone else had a similar situation.

    sks chambering

I have a yugo sks. I don't have a bad thing to say about her. Only thing I'd like to know if anyone experiences the same thing I do. After i load the mag, if I just pull the bolt back enough for the release and sent it in the bolt wont catch it and goes into the chamber. If I take the bolt and pull it all the way back till it stops then release it always grabs the round. Anyone experience this too?
  13. I use a remington spartan, winchester ranger 120, and a mossberg 535. It depends on what i'm hunting and where im hunting. All have a 28" barrel. They all can be found at minimal expense and will kill waterfowl all day.
  14. We had a Novelty shoot at old bridge last Sunday. We were done with the shoot and just having fun taking some shots. So we decided to do a volley. As you will see some people can't wait lol but we had fun. Rosey(smokin .50) finished off the 2x4 with his 10 gauge. I was ordering the fire and filming.

  16. first couple levels you can do two in one day. But when you start to get up in the ranks its usually only one a day. My first time I did 4. two levels with the rifle and two with the pistol. No you can not skip levels. You must go in order and complete each one. Each score has to be recorded and sent in so you have to complete each level. The guy that runs it takes care of all that stuff.
  17. you pay for each level as you go. First level is most expensive. I think its like $15. Thats because you get the most patches and stuff for level 1 pro marksman. after that its like $5 each level
  18. A NRA qualifier is a blackpowder competition where you start at the first level and work your way up through the competition with the ultimate goal of being a Distinguished Expert in rifle and pistol classes. it consists of shooting certain targets at different distances with a minimum score that needs to be reached. So for example with the rifle. The first level is Pro-Marksman. You need to get 40 points. You shoot at 25 yards. you take 13 shots and your best 10 count for score. At the 25 yard line you can shoot freehand, bench, prone, any way you want. You dont have to take every shot. I think I did my first level in 5 shots. Then lets say you work you way up to distinguished expert. You have to shoot 13 shots freehand then 13 shots prone or bench rest. Both at 100 yards. Then you move up to 50 yards. You have to shoot 13 shots freehand and 13 shots sitting. again each target your best 10 count for score. you have to get 265 point out of your 40 shots you took. Again once you hit 265 you can stop if you want. The last qualifier I shot a 344 so I keep shooting just to see how high I can go lol. Each level you earn you recieve a award certificate from the NRA, patch and or rocker, and pins. It's really fun!
  19. I shoot cci #11 magnums and remington #11. I can tell you from personal experience there is no difference. They both work the same in my guns. I also have cci#11 regular as backups incase I just couldn't get them and they shot the same too. I've only used the regulars once but the rems and cci mags i've shot hundreds with no problems and same results. Hope this helps you bud. Old bridge NRA muzzleloader qualifier in two weeks. I'll be there, stop by.
  20. Wow! Great story! Thanks for sharing those pieces.
  21. I may be able to sell you some. I have more fff than I need. Most my guns use ff. where you located?
  22. you have to add the other pieces to it to make it the right size like djg shows. I don't recommend using it because a steel rod will wear out the end of the barrel if not used carefully and properly. also i have had shells from surp ammo crack and expand in the chamber. take the rod and throw it down the barrel and it busts it out.
  23. good job guys, some great suggestions here. I used the c02 this time.
  24. So I took the .45 hawken out today to give her a little oil bath because I haven't shot her in a little while. So rather than going into my BP supplies, I grabbed a .45 jag out of my regular cleaning supplies. Well when I got to the bottom of the bore the patch slipped. When this happens it gets very hard to pull it out. So I used a tool that I have that gives you more grip on the rod. I got it almost all the way out then it broke. I got the jag and patch out. I'm not going to tell you how yet. I'm going to see if any new guys may know or how they would do it. Maybe we'll all learn something. I'll post how I did it later.
  25. Figured some of you might have some cool stuff for all of us to see. I'll put up a couple I think are cool that I have pictures of. Post up yours, we'd love to see them. .
