  1. At least she didn't try to rent a .44 mag or worse that .500 s&w they have there
  2. Unfortunatly most guns that are engraved or special are going to run more than a grand. Buya nice normal gun for your first and maybe second till you find out what you like and what you are cOmfortable with then go for the all out crazy. What happens if you buy a custom .45 1911 send a few grand then realize you don't like the kick of .45 or can't stand the 1911 . You can sell it but you are more than Likley not going to get what you paid
  3. That's the reason I joined cjrpc expensive the first year but after that the are only 25 dollars more a year than SS plus you don't have to worry as much as to who is shooting next to you. The thing that scared me away from SS (besides not having the range of different shooting opportunity ) was I had just finished shooting and a very old man came in who was already a member. They sent him out onto the range with Phil and Phil came back out five minutes later and goes this guy can't shoot here he needs a private no one else on the range lesson just to get up to safety standards. But he was a yearly member isn't that something you might want to know before you sell some a membership That plus I am not even going to go into the rental people that have never even held a gun before one RO and three newbies with no experience makes me very nervous Now I am not saying there are not dumb asses at cjrpc I would just hope there are alot less
  4. Yes the 10 th is uspsa would love to shoot but taking the wife away for her birthday so I won't be there
  5. Was it the format or what I said that you are disagreeing with gonna stop answering to the forums from my iPhone always seem to have problems sorry for the run on paragraph
  6. If you are a righty with the 1911 some people say (Larry vickers ) put your right thumb on top of the safety it one makes sure in a bad situation you don't knock the gun into safe and 2 the down pressure you can exert helps with muzzle flip. The only thing To be careful of is getting slide bite also get te web of the thumb index finger a high as possible jammed right under/in to the beaver tale it helps redirect the energy straight back into the arm rather then upward motion last tight grip not only helps with recoil but makes sure the gun functions right a loose grip will cause fte as the slide won't go through its full range o motion. Hope that helps some as the 1911 is auchincloss a great gun Btw which one are you shooting out of curiosity
  7. I am almost positive his name is frank. The only thing is he dose not seem to be there that much. Very nice seemed know what he was taking about and very seemed honest. I asked about the remington 1911 while in the process and instead of giving me a line of crap he said that he hadn't heard enough about the gun to know one way or the other and this gun was at the top of my original price range.
  8. Are you talking about Phil the RO if you ate he is one of the reasons I go there at all he had pointers for everyone but still keeps the range safe wish every RO was like him
  9. I have ought one guy from them and it was from frank ( I think) heavy black guy very nice and helpful showed me about 5 1911's before I chose the range officer. The only one I have had an off and on attitude from is the young skinny kid with the ink
  10. Gamo big cat 1250 I can get the after market trigger from charlietuna just not confident on install
  11. Hey guys looking for some help. First i am looking nfor a gunsmith that works on air rifles i have a decent airrifel that for they make an aftermarket trigger for. The original trigger is horrible. I was wondering if there is anyone around that could install this trigger for me. i would prefer it to be in the monmouth/ocean area so i dont have to ship it. My next Question is I am looking for someone that works on 1911's. Also in the same area. I am looking to have the sights rounded checkering put on the fronstrap and serrationons on the front of the slide and maybe a few other things. Thansk in advance Mike Norris
