  1. I'm sorry, but i think that could be the dumbest thing i've heard in a while. Would you have rathered Corzine? What do you think our chances would have been of getting these bills vetoed if he were in office? C'mon... Think a little! Christie is as good as its going to get in Jersey for now. Hopefully we can get a real conservative in the future.. but for now, Christie will do.
  2. Well, that's the thing.. it has already taken half a year for me. It's about to be 6 months. At this point, i'm not sure if one year is out of the question..
  3. Yea, that's why i was confused. I've had my FID card for a while now, and own several firearms. I just happened to apply for a couple pistol permits in September before the storm hit... no need for a new fingerprinting here...
  4. @GD1147 & MX597TURBO... I'm confused. I already have my FID card. This is just for two handgun permits. You don't have to get printed for each and every permit..
  5. This is insane. Everything is passing. I've always known that NJ was backwards when it came to gun laws, but i never knew it was this bad, or that it could get this much worse so quickly. So... let me get this straight. These bills pass the Assembly, as they just have. Next, they go to the Democrat controlled Senate. They will pass their. Then, it ends up on the Governors desk, and he gets to make the choice to either let them stand or veto them? Is that correct? And, if so... Does that mean that these will not actually become law until Christie decides to either let them stand or veto them? (i.e. New Jersey's laws haven't changed YET... have they?)
  6. I called Caso's and had them put me on a list for Glock 19's. As soon as they come in, i'm supposed to receive a call so that i can stop in and pay for it. In any event.. what date are we hoping for at this point? March 10th? Is that when we are hoping they will be up and running? That will be just a few days shy of 6 months waiting for two P2P's for me.. Anything beyond that will be unbearable. lol
  7. I agree. What did he say that was incriminating?
  8. Has anybody heard ANYTHING else? ugh.. This really is getting to me. I just cant believe i've been waiting since Mid-September, and have to anticipate an additional couple months of waiting. It especially irks me because i'm waiting on a couple P2P's, and already have my FID. If anything, you would think it would be a little easier to process P2P's. I'm also surprised this isn't more of an issue. Essex County is huge, and you'd think that would mean a lot of pissed off people.
  9. THanks for the replies guys! Glock 19 mags are what i was talking about. I'm going to call Casos since they are the closest FFL. Also, i my have to hit up gunbroker if worse comes to worse. I'm waiting on a couple of permits and planned on using one of them to purchase a Glock 19. However, with everything that is going on, and with the extremely long delay on Essex County mental health checks (i used to live in Essex Cty.), i'm getting nervous that by the time i'm going to get my permits, this administration will have issued an executive order screwing all of us americans. I know, i know.. i'm "caving". I'm not, i promise. I've made about three donations in the past couple weeks to NRA ILA. It's just that I'd really like to cover all my bases so that if in fact the worse comes to worse, i still have a Glock 9mm that can fire 15 rounds. Otherwise, i'm not sure the gun is worth it. In fact, i think that the 10 round limitation would effectively ruin all 9mm's. I'd probably opt for 40 if i was forced to use 10 round mags.. Just my two cents.. Thanks again guys!
  10. Does anybody know where these are in stock? I'm talking local FFL's, private sellers and online stores. Can't seem to find any. Thanks.
  11. Update: I spoke with the police officer in charge at my department too. He stated that he received that same letter and that I should call back around March. So, as i predicted, all in all, i'll be looking at a 7 month wait from start to finish for my two P2P's. This really sucks. On the bright side, i may end up getting a stainless Sig p229 rather than the Glock 19 or 23 i was eyeing. Hell, i'll be able to save enough money to swing it at this point. Additionally, for my second permit, i may just be looking at a custom 1911 instead of the Colt i was planning on getting too! lol WIth all this waiting i'll probably have enough spare change for both of those upgrades.
  12. I am extremely critical of the whole idea that this "cant be fixed and may take decades!" Give me a break. What are these government idiots doing on a daily basis? All jokes aside, 9 months is a very very long time. That's the time it takes for a cell to turn into a frigging human being for gods sake
  13. Yikes. March 10th. What a shame.. Still can't believe that by the time i get my permits in hand, it will have been 7 to 8 months of waiting... Unreal.
  14. I despise Piers Morgan. There is absolutely nothing worse than a foreigner coming to America, flourishing and accumulating wealth with ease, and then shitting on the country that made it all possible by telling the actual citizens of the nation which amendments from the Bill of Rights are acceptable and which aren't. Piers Morgan, do us all a favor.. Get on the next non-stop flight to London and never look back. Pretentious asshole.
  15. I feel like we should commend this elected official in someway. It might be a good idea to send letters of support for a change. A little positive reinforcement can go a long way.. letting the good guys know that we appreciate what they are doing for us and are going to support them.
  16. Perfecto! Yes, i must say so myself.. haha can't beat a nice pump 12 gauge for 60 bucks! Thanks for the help everyone!
  17. OKay.. So if i spend the weekend in NY (Long ISland), we can go to a Store and do the transfer there? Then, i put the firearm in my trunk and drive home? Which paperwork am i using? New Jersey COE?
  18. HI Everybody, I work in Hoboken, NJ just across the Hudson River from NYC. Due to this fact, many of my coworkers at the company that i work for, happen to be from New York/Long Island. One of my coworkers and I have become quite tight and i've spent a few nights out in Long Island with my Girlfriend at his place. We've done some trapshooting, and he has a nice collection of firearms. In any event, he has a nice 12 gauge 870 that he wouldnt mind getting rid of. He said he'd be willing to sell it for dirt cheap (like 60 bucks) if there was a way for me to buy it. How could i go about buying this thing? Can he ship it to an FFL here? Does he have to actually COME to NJ or is there a way to do it without him ever leaving his home. Please advise. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Bossy
  19. haha I really hope you aren't trying to convince me that the welfare state concept is a good thing. All it has done is made this entire country into a group of lazy, stupid, non-entrepreneurial morons with their hands out.
  20. LOL... i don't think anyone in this entire thread answered the guy's question. I'm wondering the same thing. IF you believe that it will be passed, HOW MUCH TIME do you think we have left until it is?
