  1. Here's another reason why you reload. Same gun as above....4-shot group, this time using 43.5 grains of IMR4064. These fliers are ruining my groups though! Not sure if it's me or the gun.
  2. Update: I ended up picking up a Serpa just before my trip to WV....other than how difficult the paddle is to get on and off....I love the holster.
  3. Don't know if Targetmaster had 9mm....but I bought 3 boxes of 50 .40 without any question......I mean the shelves were pretty full of the Remington UMC 180gr though.
  4. Targetmaster in PA has full shelves for the most part.....
  5. Don't see any issue with long guns....am I wrong?
  6. Nice. Thanks DLF. I am thinking I'll need a paddle holster. The whole belt thing could get annoying after a few times on/off.
  7. Any issue with the butt getting snagged on stuff?
  8. Not "every day".... but for example, I'll be going home to WV this weekend, and I'll be outside doing crap, on and off 4 wheelers, walking through the woods and whatnot. Looking for something comfortable and I don't want to worry about it falling out. I'm thinking I'll need something with a strap, but I really don't know. DLF....how does that Evolution hold? Also....any appreciable difference between the Tagua and the Safariland? I think I like the "2 position" ability of the Safariland.
  9. Wouldn't exactly call Jack "top shelf" myself. Hell, I'm a Crown drinker, and that's not even really top shelf.
  10. Yea, I could....but I was looking for some actual dialog and explanations. I don't even know what to begin to look at.
  11. I'd take a deer with a .357 mag in a revolver....not a great distances though. I personally wouldn't go after a hog with something that light though. My dad's go-to is a .41 mag. I've seen that thing take down just about everything in the WV woods. WV does allow pistol hunting....but there is limited hog hunting, only in the southern counties. http://www.wvdnr.gov/hunting/hunting_regs.shtm http://www.wvdnr.gov/hunting/Regs1213/Boar.pdf
  12. Title says it....need an OWB holster for my new Gen 4 G27. (I'm assuming I'm using the right lingo here, OWB = outer waist band?) Don't know anything this crap....any suggestions? Not going to be doing any competitions or anything, just looking for something that's secure while doing things like riding atv's and whatnot.
  13. Excellent advice all the way around....especially the part about calling it a day. There will be days where the conditions and your body will not cooperate. There's nothing more frustrating than sending group after group down range with less than satisfactory results. Also....work to squeeze the trigger only after you've exhaled...don't hold your breath.
  14. Welcome man. Hell, I moved away from NJ and can't stay away from here, lol.
  15. Shoot it man! What are you waiting for? I posted my pictures before....but now I'm a premier member, I might as well post them again, haha.
  16. Thanks for joining the ranks! I also had a co-worker who became a 1st time gun owner this year. Never imagined this guy would be into guns at all.
  17. Is that a good price? EDIT: That's actually about the price I paid at Targetmaster last night....$20/50.
  18. It was a series of fortunate events that led to my exodus from NJ....and yes, I'm glad, lol.
  19. I. LOVE. IT. Not too bad for my first time out with it. Now keep in mind, I very rarely shoot pistols, and the last time I did was what, going on 3 weeks ago? Before that, I can't even remember. Although I must admit...this was only at 7 yards.
  20. Question for this Glock noob...... The dealer said that it comes with some sort of factory copper "break in" lube, and not to clean it til around 400 rounds. That doesn't seem right to me....any special procedure for breaking in a Glock?
  21. Decisions, decisions....stock up on 40 ammo, or go for the 357 barrel, lol.
  22. I actually shoot it better Howard. Beats me....but I liked shooting the subcompact over the compact and the full size.
  23. I'm calling y'all out on this....maybe it's because I have the Finnish M91 with the full length barrel.....but I'm fairly recoil shy and this thing didn't phase me a bit. My 7mm-08 now.....I can only comfortably tolerate about 20-30 rounds out of it before I start to get a headache. But...I must admit...I've only put about 20 rounds a session out of my Mosin so far. But in general, it doesn't have nearly the wallop my 08 does.
  24. I actually wasn't a fan of any semi-autos until recently. I was raised in a revolver household. The Glock is so...simple. My brother has 3 Glocks himself. I think my next one will either be a Mark II/III Ruger, or I'll hold out for a 1911. I've always wanted one.
