  1. I bought 2 guns at Bud's: a Glock 26 and Sig P226 X-Five .40. I sent a check for both purchases to get the cash price and accepted a delay until my checks cleared - other than that their service was prompt. I just custom ordered 2 pistols from Bud's on layaway and paid deposits by e-check since I was told that manufacturer backlogs were 1-3 months for Kimber and up to 6 months from Springfield (keeping in mind that these are custom shop guns).

I recently ordered 2 custom 1911's: Kimber Super Match II .45 ACP and Springfield TRP-Pro 1911 FBI .45 ACP. I ordered them layaway on Bud's since I was told that it will take months before they ship.
  3. I had my FFL put my NICS through after 28 days figuring that it would take at least 2 days to get the NICS approval back before I could pick up my next pistol after 30 days or more. Unfortunately, that backfired since the NICS officer flagged my submission and told my FFL that I might get investigated by the state police for not waiting 30 days. My FFL smoothed things over and I ended up getting the approval and picking up my handgun on day 31.
  4. Thanks for that great op-ed piece. I will share it with as many people as I can.
  5. 2 days for my CZ 75 SP-01 Target that I picked up yesterday.
  6. Just picked up my CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Target today - ordered it online from Impact Guns in Utah.
  7. Face reality - federal magazine limits are coming. Would your rather hope for the best or try to shape the outcome?

  9. We need to be proactive in educating our legistators regarding the issue of high capacity magazines. What do you think about the following letter to assemblymen / senators /congessman?: "Competitive shooting has been an Olympic sport since the inception of the modern Olympic Games in 1896. Because of its long heritage and broad appeal, the shooting sports are enjoyed by a large number of participants around the world. In recent years, however, the shooting sports have become increasingly threatened by restrictive legislation and government actions. Competition pistols typically use so-called "high-capacity" magazines holding up to 18 or 19 rounds. An arbitrarily ban on magazines holding more than 10 or 15 rounds threatens to criminalize the legitimate sport of competition shooting. I urge you to consider the impact of legislation regulating magazine capacity and consider a reasonable limit of 20 rounds." Feel free to suggest other issues to include in the letter.

  11. It's all about access to guns. If we as legal gun owners don't prevent our guns from falling into the wrong hands, then we risk having them confiscated by the government.
  12. I just picked up my Glock 26 from Ira at Legend. Paid $499 at BudsGunShop.com
  13. I just ordered a Sig P226 X-Five 40 L1. When I asked about the P226 X-Five 9mm, I was told that it was illegal in NJ because it had a 19 round mag capacity.
