  1. Yes it is. Family is the most important thing to me, followed by health and money.
  2. This. I'm afraid that anything sooner is just wishful thinking on my part and this will be the reality. The wife if 100% on board with that. But I wanna move NOW I do thinbk they will tax us out of here sooner though. Or there will be no jobs. Merck just announced that they are moving to NC, others will follow.
  3. I owned firearms for 12 years, but I joined right after Newtown, because I immediately knew that the fallout in NJ will be worse than on the National level. Too much stuff going on for Federal government to focus on gun control for too long, while our local govt. is never that busy. This was the only place I could count on to get all of the information on latest developments.
  4. You could rent it out. A few of my friends and neighbors did exactly that until a good offer came along. They are happy in their new homes all over America

I agree. Forget that it's a gun store for a second, too much inventory is bad 99% of the time, because it's something you have to buy and pay for and then sit on, hoping that people want what you have. Meanwhile, if the stuff is not moving, you can't buy new stuff. Bad situation. No one could see Colorado and CT shootings coming and stock up accordingly. Those ARs sat on the shelves forever before all this, at least in NJ where you have nowhere to shoot them.
  6. I can't get the family on board. They complain about NJ all the time but the second I mention moving they all look at me like I'm an idiot. My wife is somewhat on board, but faces a lot of pressure from her family. BTW, gun laws are still not in the top 10 reasons for me to move out of NJ, there are much worse things here.

I think you may be mistaken. Selling out of guns and ammo is only good for their shop if they can get more. Even if they double their prices for a month, it won't make them rich. Unless stuff starts coming in on a more regular basis, all the shops could be in trouble. The Cabelas, Dicks and Basspros of this world will be fine, as they make money on other stuff, but places like gunshops (the only places in NJ that sell REAL guns) could be in serious trouble. I saw Mastodon's post on Facebook yesterday. They got *9* boxes of 9mm ammo. Won't make them breathe a sigh of relief, I think.
  8. This is pure gold. I lived in Soviet Union during the cold war and we saw lots of propaganda that was meant to show us the suffering of the average American. All that stuff combined does not hold a candle to this one clip. Do they not have internet in Korea?
  9. They did remake it - it came out earlier this year. It sucked: http://www.imdb.com/...4719/?ref_=sr_1 And yes, it was the Koreans this time.
  10. I like the place a lot. Don't go often enough to get a membership, but they let me shoot my rifles, which is a big deal. I used to have to go to PA for that.
  11. Hi All, Never sold a gun before. I know buyer needs COE, DL matching FID and I ghave to check that. But what do I do with COE? Do I send it somewhere or just keep it for my records? Sorry, I tried searching - didn't find an answer to that specific question.

7 days now, eh? One of the two state "workers" processing checks must have taken their well deserved 8 week vacation.
  13. What re they selling for? I want to get rid of one of mine - M44 (yes, no more room in the gun safe), but it's not worth the hassle for $100
  14. Your gun should be easily accessible but not easily found. Time is not on burglars side, they will check the bed stand, but probably would not look to see if anything is taped to the underside. Be creative.
  15. Very nice. These were my first firearms. Still got three of them.
  16. If you are disappointed, you should read the other garbage they posted before. When I saw this article earlier in the morning, I thought NJ.com site was hacked by NRA.
  17. Hang on, is this open to public? Or do you mean that I have to belong to either the "local Archery club" or the Picatinny Rod & Gun? I live 2 miles from there, that would be sweet...
  18. Yeah, as of right now it seems it went from "none" to "very little". Not counting on continued improvement, but at least I can order something now. However long it takes, I bet .223 will be the last to come back
  19. I wish them luck, but I lost my excitement after the word "petition". Lawsuit is the only relatively quick way...
  20. They didn't ask me anything. My father wasn't asked for this either (Woodbridge). I think it depends on the town. I think NJ2AS doing some sort of compliance project where they get differenct towns to abandon any additional paperwork that's not required by state law. You should report your town.

Just got a call 7:30 PM last night. 5 days not counting Sunday.
  22. Thanks all for your help. I worked at UPS a long time ago as well. Even with all the missing packages, they run a surprisingly tight ship (ask about their facial hair policy). *IF* someone is stealing ammo there (let's keep in mind that as of now it's still an IF) then it's a deliberate and well planned action. Which is what scares me. This type of thing is exactly what can be used by some to justify outlawing mail order sales.
  23. Just got started in it myself. Making my own range in the basement (15 yards) - built a giant backstop out of pressure treated wood and carpeting When the weather gets nicer, will bring it outside for longer shots. ... while typing this, got an awesome idea - WHEELS!!! roll it, instead of carrying it....
  24. I think this is specific to Parsippany location. We'll see.
