Good news guys I was able to aqcuire some money and placed my bid on the SKS. Hopefully I win this. I have a question though. Does he have to transfer through an FFL as well? Apparently every FFL in NJ requires that the gun be sent from an FFL as well. Is that federal law or just state law?

I'd really like an all matching Albanian SKS with a decent stock wood frame and that is still in working condition and can be fired (of course I'd still have it examined by a certified gun smith first anyway). My knowledge of rifles (especially older ones) is not all that good. It seems like this Albanian SKS is actually pretty good. I've been waiting patiently for a good one to pop up. I just don't want to buy it and it not work or something, I could just return it I guess but still. What do you guys think?

I don't get how picketing private funerals is covered under free speech. I thought the courts would rule it harrassment. Those people are gonna get themselves killed when they picket the wrong funeral.

The portrayal of guns in media. Only bad guys and cops/military have guns or the few good guys. No one else is supposed to have guns. The regular citizen is supposed to be unarmed.

Guns empower those that are "supposed" to be weak. In fact, that's one reason my typically pro-gun cousin doesn't like them. He doesn't like that someone can be much physically stronger and better skilled at fighting... and still be beaten. I always bring up the very old, or the very young. They can defend themselves adequately against a man in peak physical shape. A lot of people don't like the way firearms even out the playing field. Especially government. People don't want the average citizen to be able to defend against government agents. Schools teach kids that the government will protect them. The police will handle everything. I have nothing against police, I once wanted to be one and have friends who are police, but they should not be all powerful compared to a law abiding citizen. Pools do not do this.

Speaking to a psychologist needs to stop being seen as a "bad" thing, the stigma needs to be removed, that right there would drop the suicide rate. Guns? Once again another "bandaid" fix that does not solve the real problem and will likely have little impact. Guns do make suicide easier, and quite often failed suicide attempts lead to someone getting help, however that is not a reason to get rid of guns. Might as well ban rope.

Never bring up stabbings in debate. People are more likely to survive them (correct me if I am wrong) than if there was a mass shooting. This is fact because guns were meant to be more efficient at killing. The flip side is a gun can empower a 90 year old grandma or 12 year old girl. A knife cannot. Pros and cons.

Any child under six can honestly not be trust with a weapon. No matter what, accidents can happen especially at those ages. Insane how they left a loaded firearm within reach of a four year old.... wow. As for school counselors, they are often out of touch with the kids... seeing them as "work" and not humans.

So on Route 22 West in Hillside right past the bridge (if going Westbound) is a sign for this store, the store looks like a house. I called and they were closed but the answering machine did basically confirm they were a store. Anyone ever been there? I am planning on checking them out next week to see if they have anything or any ammo.
