yea i looked at it all the twist rate is the same as with the bolt and barrel, on the spa tactical it uses a 20" barrel vs a 26" on the 700p on the remington 700 forum there are about a gagillion posts covering this, they are the same rifle except for the finish and stock the barrel, bolt and twist are all the same... the stock is bedded in aluminum on the 700p which makes it more accurate outta the box but when modifided the sps tactical and 700p are the same, it then comes down to matter of stock preference then and of corse the 700p will have a nicer finish

i believe he is kinda correct.. not the varmint but the sps tactical.... the sps tactical and the 700p are the same rifle as on twist and bolt except that the 700p is in a better stock and bedded in aluminum. atleast thats what i have been reading on other forums, cant confirm myself but i think he was onto something there just didnt get it out right!

wow very very good to know! i was deff going to change out the stock! really awesome you told me that! i am torn between .223 & 308, any other calibers other than 338 and 300WM im over looking? i know everyone tries to stream line their calibers but i actually try to diversify so i am not dependent on one cartridge if anything bad like a zombie apocalypse happened..

this is such an awesome (awesome as in large) display of supply and demand and a tradable market! you basically have it nailed the only factor we dont know id the amount of ammo being used.. i like us all having mini ammo depots..

i can not confirm nor deny that said vendor does it one way or another, if they did it the way that i said and that it showed in the video (no clue just found it on the tube of yous) and you and a few others who clearly know more about the law than i and others do and you are saying that that is clearly illegal... then how in the hell does this community continue to allow them to continue to be a vendor!?!?! knowing that every order they are potential shipping you federal imprisonment??? did i miss a HINT HINT/ WINK WINK somewhere along the line...

what is the barest 700 that you know of, i was thinking about buying the one with the cheapest of stocks but best of barrels and action... do they make that as intended to be modified or am i thinking that up in my head lol

hey guys i am wanting to build my first precision rifle and really dont know much about the subject. i do know i shot at 300 yards (i know it aint much) and i loved it!!! i would like to know some does and dont's.. WHAT I WANT FROM IT- i want a long range rifle 300yrds min that i may have the option of expanding onto 600+ as my skill progresses, will not be used for hunting. CALIBER- im thinking 308, you want to stay away from designed hunting rounds i assume RIFLE- i am thinking a 700 possibly a savage 111 variant (i think, not the BA) STOCK- yes i may be wrong in doing this but i want it to feel really "comfy" all adjustable so nothing wrong with a sniper style stock right? OPTIC- i know that could be a whole other thread in itself so i will just hold off on that for now, get the rifle outta the way then cross that bridge but i am aware it will be a large fraction of the total build cost. thanks in advance and im sure there are some very complex answers and would love to know what you know because right now i dont know much about it, also im sure i left out some important questions that i need to ask myself before a build that im not even aware are options
