  1. Taking the day off, and bringing my Father-In-Law. Never has there been a more important time to stand united.
  2. Can't help with a sticky, but all of the current bills are front and center on the home page here: http://www.anjrpc.org/
  3. So wait a sec-I can use STS-003? The State Police handed me their fancy packet with a checklist accompanying what I'm remitting, and STS-033, SP66, and SBI-212a were for my address change and P2P request. And yep, we can both use the neighbors.
  4. Changing address. Of should I say, FID lost in the move. Insane the process starts all over, with the crazy turnarounds. Wife getting initial. As for references, I was always told it can't hurt to have them be current FID owners. So.. For me: Next door neighbor Father in law. But would he be considered "related"? After all, I made the CHOICE to join the family. Wife: Next door neighbor Other next door neighbors Again, all references already have FID, so thought it would be a good idea. Opinions?
  5. No worries-my fear is the same thing that happened in NY: Cryan like sponsors craft this nonsense, only get the support of their cronies, then spring it on reasonable guys like DiMaio, and force a vote. My emotions and thoughts sometimes get ahead of my iPhone typing. I sent DiMaio a follow up with the list of 43 bills, urging him to read them. All of them are bad enough, but the restriction of State pensions to not invest in firearms manufacturers has to be the most un-American, anti-Capitalist crap I've ever seen.
  6. I don't understand what you're saying. I applauded MY assemblyman DiMaio, and called Cryan, who's been the author or sponsor of most of these bills a tool. Fitting I think. And my point is that since my assemblyman has no knowledge of these bills, chances are folks like Cryan are trying to rush them through before more sensible guys like DiMaio can read them.
  7. This is NJ, you will have many. I regret buying a house here every single day, and giving them my tax revenue for legislation I don't want.
  8. Did my search, and can't find anything recent. About to drop my change of address with P2P, and the wife's initial FID, and a P2P at the Kingwood barracks-I actually live here in Kingwood. Seems that folks out here in Hunterdon have had some wait times of up to 4 months. Interestingly when I went in to get the apps, the Sgt told me that is the wait times currently. So they've gotten no better, even though I understand that seems to be the only thing people are going in there to get. (Guy was picking up 3 P2P's) I get that they're a small barracks, but really? It's the training barracks, so they should be using that as an opportunity to get the newer guys up to speed on filing the apps. Insane to think that it will be the summer before any new firearms purchases, and I've got some money burning a hole in my bank account to stimulate the economy. Anyone have any recent success stories of quicker turnaround times out here in the sticks?
  9. This is why I live out in the middle of the woods on 2 acres in NJ-they keep saying how there's such a big difference between "inner city" and rural areas. Ok, but stop punishing me for what some crackhead gangbanger in Camden does. Most of my local reps get it-almost everyone out here hunts, while I keep reminding them that the 2nd is NOT about hunting. I have a few friends that think "no effect on me", but there most assuredly will be. I cornered the guy delivering my propane last week, to determine if he has firearms, I asked if he hunted. He had no idea these bills were before NJ until I gave him all the info,(essentially how some of the stuff would invalidate everyone's FID's) including the numbers to call, what groups to support, and the 2/8 rally Still waiting on my other 2 reps responses.
  10. Got my shite response from the underage hooker buyer thus morning, lets break down these statements: "As your Senator, I strongly defend the rights of citizens to use firearms responsibly for recreational purposes or protection of one's family and home." Protection of one's family and home-yet, without CCW, I guess my family should never actually leave my home. Yet, even within the home, since we have no castle law, there's some vague arbitrary use of force that I am considered guilty of if someone breaks into my house intent on harm, unless they have one of the horrific assault rifles. " At the same time, I vigorously support efforts to keep guns out of the hands of individuals that wish to use them against society. " Really? And explain how any of the proposals will do that, excluding you propaganda based rhetoric. And how about addressing how prosecutions of EXISTING laws are down, but somehow adding more will solve the problem? First class tool. I hope he got VD from his hookers.
  11. Encouraging. But most likely tools like Cryan are crafting this nonsense under cover of darkness: Thank you for your email expressing your opposition to stricter gun laws such as legislation recently signed into law in New York. To date, legislation has not come before me for consideration however, please be assured that I continue to support the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution and do not believe this is the answer to reducing violent criminal acts. I would prefer representatives at both the state and federal level focus efforts on mental health care, substance abuse prevention, and education reform. Regards, John DiMaio
  12. Best way I've found to determine who your Senators, Congressman, and Legislative reps are for where you live: http://www.nj2as.com/REPRESENTATIVES
  13. Oh don't worry--the same people who keep regurgitating that the words "hunting" and "sporting" are somewhere in the Constitution, and they have no intention of disrupting that are lying out of both sides of their mouths. The government feels (and many citizens, not just the vegans) that you have no "need" to hunt to gather food anymore, anymore than you have a "need" to plant a garden that they can't tax. It will become an either direct or indirect attack on the hunting and sporting industries, and then all those people who say "doesn't affect me" will be looking around like Ralphie on Xmas morning who thought he was getting a Red Rider bb gun--but this time the only thing awaiting them is the pink bunny costume. This idiots are so short sighted in their attempt to gun grab, that they don't care what effect this will have on the already fragile economy. I guarantee you the state of NY will suffer dire consequences because the out of state hunters who enjoyed their pastime and spent MILLIONS of dollars for licenses, lodging, and guides, will stay the hell away from that state. The idiot Rahm Emanuel is even going so far as to try and force the hand of Financial firms to divest any and all business from any corporation that has a hand in the firearms industry--because that's truly the definition of capitalism and the American way. The Star Ledger is a rag--When I saw the Op-Ed from the tool who thought it was a great idea to follow the Journal News lead in publishing gun permit holders, I promptly instructed my wife to cancel our subscription to that commie drivel. There is no tangible reason that anyone needs to know what I own-parents who are "so concerned, and should know whether their children are visiting a house with firearms" would be better served with their parents actually taking an ACTIVE PART in their children's lives, and knowing whom they are associating with in the first place. We're legislating away any and all personal responsibility. It's always someone, or something else's fault for the bad that befalls our society. Leftists focus their efforts on "feelings", rather than fact. Ron Paul didn't have it so wrong-the Libertarian philosophy is the best possible way to govern a society. Because the government gets out of the way.
  14. That would be none. It's easy to come to the conclusions that you want when you have the participants who think EXACTLY the same as you do. So the hypocrite doesn't think that HER hearings would be slanted?
  15. Within the last month, I have:Renewed my NRA membership Gifted my wife an NRA membership Became a member of GOA Became a member of ANJRPC Became a member of NJ2AS I still cannot believe the propaganda coming out of these politicians' mouths. Because the crap that they're spewing is NOT what we're saying. I especially liked how Feinslime said that she's going to hold her OWN hearing, because any open forum would be "skewed" by members of the Gun Rights groups. Really? So exactly how is holding a hearing that EXCLUDES a population OPPOSED to your viewpoints supposed to get any end result other than the one SHE hoped for? Citizens are just too stupid that they go right along with it, and keep voting these idiots in.
  16. And the father of a man who beat a man with an "assault bat".What I REALLY want to know is who's voting these ass clowns into office in the first place?
  17. More:http://pjmedia.com/blog/the-police-have-no-obligation-to-protect-you-yes-really/ And this goes back a lot further than Gonzales: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v._District_of_Columbia I can't believe that they're so stupid to continue to use the Law Enforcement protection argument, when SCOTUS has ruled they have no obligation. If the police protect you as a matter of enforcing the law, it's a bonus. Law Enforcement are the SECOND responders--you are your own first responder. And have every right to protect yourself.
  18. I searched a bit and didn't see this posted before. It's an outstanding presentation on the absolute fallacy of so-called "Assault Weapons". A term which didn't even exist until 1989... The neat thing about this is that it's tailored very well for smartphones. I've been trying to get as many uninformed people as I can to read and understand this. My wife had absolutely NO CLUE of the propaganda surrounding the ignorance and dis-information being communicated. She's since come on board, and has even started using her new found knowledge to get into discussions with people she knows to try and educate them as well. Unfortunately most, like the usual liberal leftists, could care less even when presented with facts. She's now anxious to get her app in for her own FID and P2P, and is actually quite dismayed that she is unable to "keep and bear" such a weapon. http://www.assaultweapon.info
  19. Sunday, April 23, 2006 BY JIM O'NEILL Star-Ledger Staff The son of a prominent Union County Democrat is awaiting sentencing in Middlesex County on charges of failing to meet the conditions of a probationary term im posed after he admitted assaulting a motorist in Union County with a baseball bat four years ago. John Cryan, the 23-year-old son of Assemblyman Joseph Cryan, the newly appointed chairman of the state Democratic Committee, will not be jailed for defaulting on his sentence for assaulting the motorist, but he could be facing an additional probationary term of three years when he is sentenced June 9, according to his attorney, Joseph Spagnoli of Cranford. He said Cryan got involved in "an unfortunate incident that got out of control." "My client deeply regrets it be cause a criminal conviction in this day and age has an effect on a person being able to keep a good job," Spagnoli said. Spagnoli noted that had the young Cryan faithfully followed the terms of his probation, he would have been much closer by now to completing his obligation. Cryan's father, who was a freshman in the Assembly when the in cident occurred, was angered the report on his son had emerged. "The story is old. My son and my family and the others have put it behind us and I'm sorry to find that The Star-Ledger has chosen to bring it up at this time, years after the fact." Although the assault occurred in Union Township, it subsequently was transferred to Middlesex County, apparently to avoid the ap pearance of a conflict. A spokesman for the Union CountyProsecutor's Office did not respond to phone calls seeking a specific reason for the change of venue. In addition to being a well- known figure in Union County, the elder Cryan serves as an undersheriff to Sheriff Ralph Froehlich, but did not hold the job at the time of the assault. In a deal reached with Middlesex County authorities, the younger Cryan pleaded guilty Jan. 31, 2003, to a count of aggravated as sault, admitting he participated in the attack. Superior Court Judge James Mulvihill, sitting in New Brunswick, placed the defendant on probation for five years, ordered him to undergo anger management counseling, refrain from using alcohol until age 21 and submit to random urine monitoring. In addition, the judge ordered the young Cryan to pay $708.66 to cover the cost of repairs to the victim's damaged car, imposed a $1,000 fine and ordered the defendant to perform 200 hours of community service, according to]court records Cryan returned to court in January, and pleaded guilty to violat ing probation, admitting he had failed to pay the fines, missed some appointments with his probation officer and had fallen behind on the community service, his lawyer said. By the time he pleaded guilty to the probation violation, Cryan had paid the fine and restitution and since has nearly completed the community service, according to Spagnoli. He said he would not permit the young defendant to comment on the case. Court records showed Cryan, a Union Township resident, was driving three friends on the evening of March 6, 2002, when he apparently passed the motorist, Luis Coral, also of Union Township, and cut in front of his vehicle. Coral, who was with his 14-year-old son, was angered and followed Cryan's until it stopped at a Shell station on Morris Avenue in the township about 10:30 p.m., according to the court records Coral got out the car and yelled at the occupants. Cryan, who was 19 at the time, and two of the passengers, David Dean, 18, and Manuel Naval, 19, emerged and got into a confrontation with the motorist. The fourth passenger in Cryan's vehicle, a young woman, was not involved in the dispute, the records showed. A Middlesex County grand jury handed up a six-count indictment against the three men, charging the argument escalated until they punched Coral in the face, hit him in the knee with the baseball bat and trashed his car before fleeing. Nothing in the court records described the extent of Coral's injuries, but the grand jury filed second-degree aggravated assault counts, indicating the injuries were serious enough to warrant a 5- to 10-year prison term upon conviction. Coral, described as a man in his 30s, could not be reached for comment. After police stopped Cryan's vehicle, they found a baseball bat in the trunk, but testing failed to show any evidence to suggest it had been used in the attack. Cryan initially contended it had no role in the assault, according to the records. Before trial, however, all three men pleaded guilty under an agreement to reduce the aggravated as sault to a less serious third-degree offense that enabled them to avoid incarceration. Cryan's lawyer said he could not remember details of the assault. "I don't recall who did the punching or who (handled) the bat, but there was complicity on the part of all three." He said the victim was not seriously injured. Spagnoli added that Cryan never realized he drove across Cor al's path and was surprised when the man approached them at the gas station Cryan "said it was an honest mistake but he (Coral) starts cursing and yelling and, unfortunately, the whole thing escalates," the defense lawyer said.
  20. No distinction. Slingshots, irrelevant of their design, are banned, without a "justifiable lawful purpose". There are no licenses it permits issued. http://law.onecle.com/new-jersey/2c-the-new-jersey-code-of-criminal-justice/39-3.html
  21. Certainly is a form response-in fact, I think all of the legislators shared the language, because it's verbatim what I've seen others post they received from other legislators. Horrid-the citizens are shouting at them, and they stick their fingers in their ears and sing the National Anthem.
  22. And they have zero clue that any of the features that actually define "assault weapon" (which as we all know did not exist in lexicon until the media created it-now they're further erasing the line between assault weapon and assault RIFLE) have absolutely NOTHING to do with the lethality of the firearm-they're simply cosmetic in nature and "look scary".They also have NO CLUE that the DOJ itself opined that magazine capacity has no causation to the lethality of firearms: criminals will simply load another magazine, or bring more weapons and discard when empty. It's utterly exhausting how absolutely ignorant people are about what the government and media tells them. Perhaps we should run ads during American Idol or Honey Boo Boo. These messages MUST get out by more avenues than word of mouth.
  23. To add: the poll that NEEDS to be conducted is a simple quiz of NJ those same NJ citizens on what gun control exists in this state: and report back the fallacy that is the absolute ignorance of the same people calling for more control.
  24. For the love of God this. I can't tell you how many times in the last 2 months I had to explain to people in NJ that AUTOMATIC weapons are restricted, AWB restrictions, mag capacity limits, how the lone NJ gun show is PROHIBITED from selling firearms, and all the legal hoops needed to go through in this state to own a firearm. People are willfully ignorant. How can the NJ2AS or NJRPC get this message out there to the masses?
  25. Ok, so some follow up questions that I'd like some input feedback: I joined ANJRPC-I've heard some guys here say that I can get "free" legal advice from guys like Nappen as a result of being a member. For the life of me I can't find any way to do this. I'm thinking of retaining an attorney to assist in the actual application process for myself (change of address) and my wife. (initial) Would that actually work against me? Reasons for myself are the ones stated above. For my wife: because when she was having problems with people at work, she used their Employee Assistance Program to speak with one of their Sociologists--from my understanding, not a Dr, and not a therapist. But she also, as a condition of getting a surgical implant in her back, was required to undergo a Psych evaluation. I'm concerned that those things might come up in her mental health records search for some crazy reason, and they'll deny her based on question 26. And even though my TRO's were dismissed, (namely the 2nd one was obtained by deception) and it was ordered that my weapons and FID be returned, there's still a record of those that could come up. My friend, who also needs to submit an application to update his FID address, thinks I'm wildly paranoid. He himself has a 14 year old DUI, and an expunged drug possession. He's thinks that unless you were convicted of a felony, or committed to a mental institution, "they cannot deny you" I've heard horror stories that state that just because things were dismissed, not charged, expunged, or you weren't admitted or determined to have any psych problems (merely talking to a therapist) that there could be cause for denial, simply on the catch all "not in the interest of public safety" I think that with how this Nanny State uses any reason to keep firearms out of peoples' hands, that they absolutely can deny you--but you could appeal and win. Most likely because people will get tired of the red tape and give up. Is that worth the hassle? I'd really rather not fork out any money to retain a lawyer that could be spent actually purchasing firearms--and I very well could be paranoid. Thoughts, opinions? I hate that I even have to ask these questions.
