  3. This has been a very informative thread. Jsut as an update I haven't yet purchased my shotgun due to personal issues but it is coming. I appreciate everyones input
  4. www.USAJOBS.gov Search Bureau of Prisons find Correctional Officer Build your resume Apply for FCI Fort Dix (central jersey) or FCI Fairton (South Jersey) Starting salary at Fort Dix (NY locality Pay) for CO is like 43,595. 1 year probation, 3 weeks in GA for training. easy money. State makes more money than us and promotes a little faster. So that may be a better route if you wanna stay in Jersey. If you dont mind relocating the Feds have over 100 prisons across the country for you to transfer too and are uilding more. Good Luck

Great you gave him more reasons to light fires.... I see headlines coming soon
  9. Ill look at the tube when I get home its still in my smoking jacket pocket. Ive have cheaper Montes before but that one kicked my ass sort of. I was a tad light headed and was like WTF Last time I felt like that was the first time I tried dipping... lol except this time there was no vomit lol it wasnt a bad feeling just a stronger cigar than ive ever had
  10. My wife got me a couple cigars (and likely paid way to much) but she just grabbed "any old thing" for me to try. After browsing this thread last night I was hankering for one when i got off work. I went home and enjoyed the hell out of a Montecristo. It was in a tube. It was a lot stronger than what I am used to but I really enjoyed it. She said it was like a 14.00 cigar lol anyway I will be looking into a humidor as I am starting to enjoy this more and more. My grandfather ALWAYs smoked either a cigar or a pipe... I LOVED that smell!
  11. **Your inmates are tracers** Fixed it... I dont do this I cant draw for shit.... but I did teach this to my 6 year old... hes been tracing coloring books for 3 days
  12. lol about 4 months ago I broke up a fight between a younger guy and an old timer. The arguement started over some pretty serious stuff.... Young guy told old guy that Snuffeluppagus from sesame street was a brown wooly mammoth and old guy said no it was a grey elephant. Turns out old dude was locked up so long that last time he saw sesame street it was black and white and he also had no clue what a wooly mammouth was. LOL I really like prison work.... its different every single day!
  13. I say that EVERY SINGLE DAY! a lot of these dudes have SO much talant! Artists, tattoos musicians, crafts, sports, so much wasted talent!
  14. So I learned something from the inmates this week. I was amazed at how many insanely good artists were in prison. But then one of them showed me the trick and it is so elementary but it works! Step 1: print out whatever picture you want to draw.... lets say mickey mouse. Step two: On the back side of where mickey is printed, take a #2 pencil and rub all where mickey would be if he was printed on that side. Make sure to cover any area where the picture is on the other side. Hold the paper up to light to see and make sure all lines would be covered. Step C: Place mickey face up on top of another blank piece of paper. This way the scribble is between both pieces of paper. Step IV: Trace with either pencil or other pointy object over the entire picture of mickey. What this does is makes a faint outline onto the blank piece of paper giving you an exact replica of the print out. Once you finished tracing it you remove mickey/scribble page and on the once blank paper you now have a light outline of mickey mouse ready for you to refine however you see fit. Somethins so simple but the results are pretty good. Thats how they do a LOT of the tattoo work inside. And yes you are clinically diagnosed with OCD if the use of sifferent counting methods for each step drove you nuts... it was hard for me to even type it like that

They stay in my vehicle at all times and I have a set in my house and there is a story behind that. Once I was driving home from walmart and I saw a local cop on the side of the road getting pummled by two guys. I pulled over and jumped in while yelling to the cop "OFF DUTY OFFICER" I pulled the one guy off the cop and the other guy got up and took off. The cop went after the other guy and caught him 50 yards up the street while I stood with my knee in the other dudes back on the ground but he was not restrained. He could have gotten up and took off at any time. The cop brought back the other guy and tossed me a pair of cuffs and had me cuff my guy while he put the one in the car. It was about then that his back up showed up. We got the guys put away and got to talking. I explained I was a CO at the county jail and he said I dont care where you work I appreciate the hell out of you right now! He also said since i was law enforcement I should always keep a set of cuffsi n my car. That was almost 6 years ago and there has been a pair in my car every day since. I have never been thanked so much. This was also in another state. However I have had NJ cops pull me over and they saw them somehow and started to question me but didnt make a stink about them at all and it was before I got a LEO job in nj! But you have a great point with the zip ties. The issue for me is those are limited use. Oh and this is a tactical cuff key:
  16. HAHAHA I said she would shoot one not buy one! You might help convince her by DONATING her a gun two can play that game!
  17. LOL How decked out would a .22 have to be to get it to 1500!
  18. My mom is no longer an Anti!!!!! OK I am starting this thread because as most of us know... we all like some sort of firearm which is why we are here. We do not need to spread awareness to ourselves we already know how much we enjoy guns. I want to hear your stories on how you convinced an otherwise anti or neutral gun person to at least open their eyes to our side. The more awareness we spread OUTSIDE our community the better off we are as a state! I will go first!! OK from the time I was 17 signing up for the military, the thought of a gun in my hands scared the living daylights out of my mother! My dad is not a hunter and I didn't grow up with guns in the house. So the thought of me with one just slightly shocked her. 12 years later I am still military and a form of law enforcement and I carry everywhere I go. My mom at Christmas eve dinner asked if I really needed that "thing" with me around all of the kids. I explained to her that not only was I very comfortable with me having my gun but that she should too. (I know it may be frowned upon but when I am at my moms I remove the one from the chamber... maybe not the best idea for a split second need but I do it for her and she knows it and now asks for my "spare") I told her that I would bet her that she would have trouble chambering a round herself as a grown woman and that there is no way for one of the kids (in some freak crazy twist in my moms mind that they would get my gun) that they could chamber a round. She took that bet. I emptied my pistol and safely cleared the pistol 3 times so she would be comfortable enough to even hold an empty pistol. (first time in my moms 52 years that she has held a gun EVER!!!! and it took her 10 minutes to take it from my hands) I showed her what to do and with a very lazy attempt she quickly realized how much force actually is required to put one in the chamber (had there been a magazine which there was not) After 3 attempts she conceded and said " wow you're right". We now have a mother son trip to the range planned as she would like to know more about her favorite oldest sons hobby!!! CONVERTED!!!
