My 870 is about a year old. I'd love to find someone who has a 870 express with a 28" barrel so we can try the barrel on my 870 to see if it fits or not.
-
Thanks Respect2A. I found the same info just moments before you replied. Given the cost of a 28" barrel it's almost worth finding a used 870 with a 28" barrel and calling it a day.

Respect2A, What did they change.

I have a Remington 870 Express with a six round magazine and an 18" barrel. I'd like to try my hand at skeet and trap shooting but I do not want to purchase another shotgun. According to Remington I cannot remove the barrel and install a longer barrel. They provided no reason why this cannot be done. tThe barrel on my 870 comes off just like any other 870's barrel. Is this indeed accurate or can I get a longer barrel for my 870? By the way the receiver on my 870 Express states "tactical" i guess because it's black. Other than that it looks just like any other Rem 870 Express.

Buying an AR, risky?

It would be very interesting if stuff is getting logged in there that is not supposed to be. -

My guess is the FFL's are being bullied into it. -

Maybe I missed a previous posting but is this "awb book" confirmed? -

My Conversation with gun owners went like this: 1. "I don't understand why people need ARs, anyway." "Did you know your semi-auto clay gun would be banned?" "Oh well, I'll get rid of it" 2. "I don't understand why people need ARs, anyway and this law does affect me so I don't care" It's unbelievable how dumb some people are. -
I've had mine for sometime now and it's been flawless. Looks like someone at the factory screwed up big time.

I hope you are correct. Perhaps they are just trying to bombard him with distractions as they know we will bombard his office with calls, emails, faxes and letters. However, perhaps it's not damaging enough to be nuclear per say, just just enough to make him play their game? Also, what other bigger fish do the dems want then everyone's guns?

Unfortunately, Ryan_J I don't think we will be so lucky this time around. Something tells me that the Dems have something on CC regarding the GW Bridge issue and the bargain chip are these gun bills. If he signs them the investigation "goes away". If he doesn't they drop the bomb and his career is over. Remember he could always switch parties.

Joseph Pelleteri Case

Well, the last time I purchased a new firearm I clearly heard the guy at the store telling the person on the NICS/NJSP side the type of firearm and caliber and it was semi auto or not. -

Hi Bob, Actually the way they found it could be very relevant to future cases and issues. I'm not trying to stir an argument however, I highly doubt that the NJSP does not know what long guns any firearms owners own, at least for in state purchases. The NICS check goes through the NJSP and when a FFL or firearms store calls in the NICS check they do give the NJSP the info on the COE form. So what is stopping the NJSP from cataloging this in a DB the second the NICS check comes back? Also, if I'm correct FFL's, firearms stores and private sellers are required to keep a copy of the COE for ever. So in theory and in practicality the NJSP could require all FFL's and firearms stores to give them a copy of the COE's to the NJSP if they decided to issue warrants for any previously legal firearms that are now illegal. -

Is there documentation somewhere that it was a domestic issue? -
I've been reading over this case and find it interesting. However, the document I found on it http://www.constitution.org/2ll/bardwell/state_v_pelleteri.txt does not state what circumstances lead to the police recovering the Marlin rifle nor does it state how they recovered it. "When the police recovered the gun from defendant's residence in December 1993" Does anyone here know if the PD used a COE record and warrant , was there a domestic issue that lead the police to seize his firearms etc...?
