Outer banks gun range 100% does not. not sure about the gun shack. I have frequented the store, but never the range.

I spend the whole summer there, my family owns a few homes and rentals. in addition to the gun shack, there is the Outer Banks Gun Club, it’s a hike, being 10 minutes south of Manteo. They have 100 yard rifle range, and a seperate range for pistol, And some clay throwers. the heat and mosquitoes can make it a terrible experience if you pick a bad day. I usually always buy a ton of ammo down there. Can usually get 100 packs of 9mm at Walmart for under $18. My favorite places to eat: mama kwans high cotton the run down black pelican

After waiting 5 minutes to park, I went in with a pistol and some 22 rifles, I asked Beth if upstairs was full, she told me it was and that Rocco was finishing up a class. I went downstairs to shoot the rifles. after about 45 minutes I went upstairs to shoot my pistol, and the range was still full and people were waiting. I just left.

Note to all- look at ROC class schedule before heading to the range. parking lot was full, and the class monopolized all of the upstairs range.

I would think that any ROC training course that involves live fire will be using the indoor range. assuming here, not facts

That’s a huge reduction of hours that limits usage of the upstairs “pistol” range. When signing up 2 years ago I really thought members would have 24 hour access to all the lanes.

I was gonna ask about that next but wanted to start slow. I shoot a lot of pistols with 3 inch barrels and under and although I am confident I could hit a target at 15yards, I rather shoot the pistol at a more appropriate range.

Welcome.... Can we get clarification of the club hours. 1. On the website it says 8am-10pm. (7 days a week)(upstairs) 2. At orientation we were told 10am to 9pm (7 days a week)(upstairs) 3. Tonight I was told it was Sunday through Thurdays 10am to 8pm, and Friday-Saturday 10am to 9pm. (Upstairs) i understand that the downstairs in 24hours , 365 days a year, but I pretty much shoot pistols exclusively, and shooting at a minimum distance of 15 yards with many handguns isn't very fun.

Beth called from home to “remind” you of the 15 yard minimum?

Shooting down a light ? the lights are pretty much flush with the ceiling. if the minimum distance downstairs isn’t changed, or members aren’t cleared to shoot closer, I will have to think about renewing next year. I shoot a lot of short barreled pistols and shooting at minimum 15 yards is a pain.

Went in tonight and only the middle 5 lanes of the upstairs were open. They were full, but no wait. The right and left sections had closed signs on them. I asked the worker there, (maybe Beth's mom) and she said she had no idea. anyone else been there when it's busier and they have lanes down?

I recently looked into this. I have State Farm for my homeowners and they quoted me about $230 annually for a firearms that retailed at 12,500. they wanted an itemized list with serial numbers, I declined.

Anyone know the real answer to this.... at the orientation Rocco stated that targets needs to kept at minmimum 15 yards in the downstairs range. Fine for rifles, but on the long side for pistols. I asked a RSO during my first visit, and he said it’s a minimum 15 yards only for rifle downstairs, not for pistols.... anyone know the truth?

Or it just could have been down. When leaving last night I overheard that the 5 middle lanes were down yesterday because the ventilation was not working properly.

When I took a tour, they said that the lane would only “turn on” if all the previous lanes (starting on the left) were being used. so in theory you would have to use the lane right next to someone else.

Only one range in the downstairs was working? were you the only one there?

Strippers are definitely not prohibited. There’s actually a few poles in the lounge.

No guests after 9pm

Called at 6:30pm to see how busy it was, they said half the lanes were open. got there by 7:15 and the place was a ghost town. I was the only one in the upstairs range for about 10-15 minutes. even when I left at 8:45 only about 5 or 6 lanes in the upstairs were in use. It was fantastic.

Might go during the Super Bowl... staying away until the online reservation is set up

Haha.... njsp are slow with everything firearm related. murphy is probably telling them to slow down even more.

Why do you think 3 to 5 months? doesnt he just have to have the atf approval the address change and move inventory?

I have friends that rave about Rook coffee. Ive had it twice , when Starbucks , DD and wawa was not available, and it was awful.

Went in this morning and got my credentials and ID, Beth and the family were very nice . I was very impressed with the facility. Doing my safety orientation Monday night at 8pm.
