  1. Held yesterday in honor of April 19th, 1775 ......Lexington Greene....."The Shot Heard Round The World"......lest we forget.
  2. The sign use to read.....Pennsylvania, "The Frontier Starts Here".... I actually liked that better.
  3. I wouldn't advertise that..........OMO.
  4. That's correct, notice I said Business Owner...fixed place......I was one.
  5. Yup....if your a business owner your good to go.....saved my arse twice but that's another story.
  6. None of my business but I find it interesting that a NJ firm let's you carry at work.....guess your licensed to do so....also I figured that ammo might be a little tough down there...anyway, back to the post. Wood, water, dry goods, fire starting materials, batteries and lanterns / candles.
  7. .....it's the numbers game.....and as I said, our male GS was our first alert during the night.
  8. So the firm you work for let's you arm yourself or was this just for your protection.....and how did ya know with that hurricane threatening mags and ammo could be bought ...?
  9. Yup............I found dry firewood and water to be the most important along with dry goods to cook and candles / lanterns. Yup, all ya heard at night was the sound of generators off in the distance.....a sure sign someone was home. .....also having our big male GS as a first alert was well worth owning a dog.
  10. No problem, they'll take what's yours after they take care of you first..............OMO. Remember years back when some areas suffered from black-outs during summer months how the inhabitants looted and robbed everything in sight....now imagine if the grid goes down for an extended period of time....they'll be coming to rob, plunder and rape.....think about that.
  11. Where I am, during Sandy, generators running outside were being stolen during the night.....also when I heard over my scanner that "All emergency services were suspended"...it was time to arm up....no one is coming. Most of my neighbors left, no one was around and the nights were dark without any outside lighting from the homes on my block...time to hunker down and defend what's yours....it was a good 9 days of actual training for a worse case scenario that could happen....and the areas you mention in Essex County....those are the ones that will be coming for what's yours after theirs are gone.......
  12. That was a car dealership in Union...........Buick....also jack worked in Ross's....the place was owned by Hy and his wife, when they closed Jack went to Efingers and right he's in Fla.....a nicer guy you'll never meet too.
  13. Hmmm.....the Flagship in Union Rt.22...don't remember that being a sporting goods store but it sure was many other things. There was also Ross's Sport Shop in Elizabeth, NJ....Hy and Jack nice guys and prices on firearms were always good...
  14. Glad someone remembered Gene's....another Dinosaur....and who said we're extinct........had quite a variety and always a good selection. Short, bald, Gene and the big cigar.....he was sometin'....as were them all, Sam Rosenberg as well.
  15. There was also trap & skeet fields in the Cranford NJ area, Union County Parks.....guys would do quite a bit of shootin' there.....amazes me how all these place have been shut down over the years.....guess I'm just a Dinosaur.
  16. Not what I meant.............back to local shooting ranges.
  17. We were huntin' around the corner and shootin' down the road....it was a beautiful thing but...we still had to comply with the strict anti gun mindset of Trenton...only there were more of us shooters and a lot less middle eastern immigrants. Here's one for ya.....anyone remember shooting at the outdoor Shooting Gallery in Asbury Park that was right out on the sidewalk......22 rifles, 38 revolvers all chained down to the counter with a variety of steel moving target...use to strike me funny that the guns were chained down but one could easily turn and face them at the other side of the street or the on coming traffic.....talk about the good ol days. .....and of course the original Ray's Sport Shop Rt22. in Scotch Plains before the fire.....with the range in the basement. I shot at one time or another at all these ranges.....
  18. This was in the early to mid '70s ........dirt drive way at the old steel pole, which was his sign post on the right, right before the funeral palor on Washington Valley. That drive way lead to the house/shop with the parking area and range further down the road....it was sweet. We use to hunt the flights of woodcock up on Mt. Bethel Rd. ......it was great huntin'. Anyone remember Greeley's Gun Shop and Range up in Cedar Grove...used to have to crank in the target and cable by hand, dirt floor.....it was sweet....also the the Orange Pistol Range in E.Orange, NJ....that was an OK place also. ..... lest us not forget....The Hillsborough Shooting Center.
  19. https://www.gunstocarry.com/concealed-carry-statistics/ Can you even find NJ ............Off the Grid. The "Jersey Devil" lives in Princeton....
  20. Maybe the Jersey Devil will suffer a stroke first...............
  21. Just continue it with a comment on their facebook page for all to read.....
