  1. I'll buy a few tickets in hopes of being lucky.
  2. I already have a Henry lever action model h001 and a Henry Golden Boy Eagle Scout edition rifle both in 22lr. The h001 is my beater/shooter and my Eagle Scout rifle is my wall hanger.
  3. I'm interested, the question is can you shoot that in the rimfire range in Clinton?
  4. I'm looking to buy a new rimfire for the spring. I have two 22lr rifles and I love shooting them, but I want to spice up the range trips to Clinton in the spring. I want to get a 22 magnum or a 17hmr, preferably in a bolt action (I'm down for a lever action.) I don't like Semi auto rimfires, not my slice of pie, you burn up too much ammo with them
  5. So what I'm getting at is that is don't polish my chambers then? And an other question is that would a Stevens 311 A's action take a steady diet of 00 buckshot?
  6. I'll take it. It looks cool and interesting. It's small enough to fit in a bag other than a rifle bag. It's designed for a specific purpose (survival gun) and it's meant to be be light weight and to fit in a bag. It's not going to be super accurate with that pencil thin barrel but that's not the point. If I want accuracy with a semi auto 223 I'll take my AR with its 20 inch heavy barrel.
  7. How would I polish the chambers like a SxS shotgun used for cowboy action shooting? I want to do quick reloads with my gun.
  8. 8 rounds are better than 6. Does the left side of the shell holder interfere with your cheek weld on the stock when shooting?
  9. As a college student who works a minimum wage job and has been saving up, I did buy a used Stevens 311 for $135 and 20 rounds of 00 Buckshot at the Hertiage Guild in Rahway. It kind of burned a hole in my wallet.
  10. Nothing wrong with a 5 rounder but I kind of want a 6 rounder. I like the additional round plus say I fire the 4 rounds from the the buttstock and I have to reload with the 5 rounder, I have 1 round left. If I have the 6 rounder, then I could complete a full reload.
  11. Anyone know of a good butt cuff that holds 6 shotgun shells on the buttstock?
  12. My new (new to me) Stevens 311A 12 gauge shotgun. The barrels were already cut down to 18.5 inches when I bought it on Black Friday this year. I'm planning on refurbishing the stock to clean it up and I might polish the chambers so I could take empty shells out on the fly. All I need to now is to fire it (I just got it) and a way to hold some extra shells on the gun. I would like to get a 6 round shell carrier for the buttstock.
  13. This is my new (new to me) Stevens 311 A shotgun. As you can see from the pictures, there is some wear visible but overall it's a fuctional and tight locking gun.
  14. I'm probably going to make a new thread of the process of cleaning up the gun. But I'll post some of the before pictures of it on this thread.
  15. Well gang, for the low price of 135 dollars at The Hertiage Guild in Rahway, I bought the Stevens 311. Turns out it's an A model, I'll post pictures tomorrow once I get it (the nics is back logged till tomorrow). The stock is is in rough shape, but it functions well.
  16. I'm planning on using it as a defensive orinated shotgun. I have a A.H Fox Sterlingworth shotgun in 12 gauge and I don't really want to cut up the 28 inch barrel. I use that gun for clays.
  17. Thanks everyone for the advice and help. I forgot to mention that the Stevens 311 I'm looking at had barrels cut to 18 1/2 inches. The cut down barrels shouldn't affect functionality, right?
  18. Just like the title says, I was at my local gun shop today and I saw an used Stevens 311 12 gauge for sale for a price I can't resist. But I didn't buy it (yet) but I want to ask what things I should look for to make sure it functions and if everything is in good condition.
  19. I have positive things to say about Legacy Arms. Ron is very friendly and helpful and prices are good. I have been to Garden State Armory once and I did enough my experience there. Very friendly and had a nice selection. An added bonus is that they are in the next town over from me.
