  1. How much have gun prices skyrocketed since this shooting and talk of legislation? Was trying to get my hands on a CX4 storm and it seems to have jumped in price by a couple hundred.
  2. Yeh looks like your right, seems to be pretty misunderstood. http://www.nj.com/business/index.ssf/2016/03/bamboozled_overtaxed_in_nj_heck_yeah_but_the_exit.html
  3. If your leaving the state, can they actually go after you for that if you tell them to f themselves?
  4. I haven't looked into it but aren't they allowed to do warrant-less searches under various laws if they have reasonable suspicion to do so?
  5. Well I agree with you, but its just my policy I follow when it comes to traffic stops, but I can understand your position on it.
  6. Lol I understand the depth of it full well, trust me. Perhaps I am hopelessly optimistic that a cop could behave like a human being if you behave like one in kind but that's just me. If you are a legal gun owner I don't see why you should fear telling an officer that there is a weapon in the car if you know you are following the law to the letter. Cops are already under the presumption that every time they pull a person over, they run the risk of being shot at, why not alleviate that tension from the get go and show that you are more then cooperative? Rather then something going south with the stop and THEN they find out there is a weapon in the car. Common sense actions like having both your front windows down, keeping your hands where they can see them, and not making any sudden fast movements towards anything in the car can save you from getting a bullet put in you. You won't be in a position to argue what rights you HAD after you get a clip unloaded into you from a trigger happy rookie, but you could argue them in a court of law after the fact if you use common sense.
  7. Volunteering information is not the same as admitting guilt in my eyes. If you are carrying weapons on your person or in the vehicle, legally, you should have no reason why volunteering that information would harm you. That's just my opinion on it.
  8. As much as I hate the "captain america" self righteous super cop attitude of alot of them out there, its always a good idea to use common sense when in an encounter with the police. You have rights, yes, but anything you can do that can de-escalate the situation and make them more calm, lessens the risk of you getting shot/tazed etc. You can yell about your rights all you want but if you got a trigger happy cop it wont make a difference once he starts shooting. While me or my brother have never been pulled over with weapons in the car either transporting from the store or going to the range, even if I did get pulled over, I would still inform the officer that I had them in the car and let him make the judgement call of what hes most comfortable with. The minute you start catching an attitude is when you have a problem. There are plenty of reasonable steps that don't diminish the fact that you have rights, that one can take to keep everyone calm. Being well spoken, respectful and calm, while still being smart about the encounter is the best way to go.
  9. Because clinton had very extreme views on certain subjects that trampled over peoples rights which most other democrats did not share. I never took her as a moderate democrat at all.
  10. I dunno, personally I feel like clinton was pretty on the fringe myself. Also corrupt as hell. Regardless of my support for the 2nd amendment I always typically lean liberal in my views.
  11. Let's face it, we all knew the bump stock was going to be the fall guy here. They need to pass a legislation for this as a feel good law even though it will do nothing, it will please the sheep out there. Republicans need to be able to show that they can do something in this administration. Not true of all dems, otherwise feinstein would have gotten it passed during the obama administration. Full disarmament is a fringe section of the democratic party, feinstein being on that fringe.
  12. Trump is unpredictable and unstable, and does whatever makes him look good with his base. I doubt an assault rifle ban like the one in the 90's would get proposed, but they could potentially get legislation passed on banning bump stocks and gat-triggers which could include other limitations like restrictions on capacities, mail order ammunition and other modifications or accessories. All depends on how he perceives his support by the public. Since directly after a tragedy the loudest voices are always the anti-gun advocates, its hard to tell which way he will sway. Good news is the house, senate and white house are in republican control during this, and its likely they could get full support to pass something. Feinstein already is pushing legislation banning the bump stock outright.
  13. For my setup im keeping hevi-duty close combat shells, which are frangible #4 buckshot, along with some herters home defense ball and buck rounds. Haven't patterned them yet at the range but in theory should provide some versatility should you have to use multiple rounds against home invaders. I don't know that anyone is going to stick around once you start blowing holes in shit though, so your first one or two shots should be something that you don't have to worry about taking out your neighbors with too, in my opinion. lol
