  1. Definition of 'to my knowledge' to my knowledgein British English a. as I understand it b. as I know
  2. I wish I had a copy of the FARS questionnaire as a reference for a pistol permit...I believe some of that language was there, or similar. It's a stretch to say that it is meant for intimidation let alone denial....
  3. Thanks and that is good info....I not offended...and your not being a dick..lol So you pick your references....and your picking people that may have a problem with affirming you ? Then pick other references.... The lack of standardization was bound to be prevalent during this process....it will get sorted out.
  4. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step” This decision by SCOTUS was another step in this journey of 1000 miles in NJ. I don't think I said that it should not be allowed to continue unresisted, nor am I brainwashed. What I am trying to indicate is that damage has been done over generations in this state, you cannot flip a switch and magically change it. It is a process, sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent. By you own admission your over 70...you should know that...
  5. Right it's on facebook it MUST be true..... Look, it is possible that there are problems with local PD's and applicants as well.... My statements are not to alleviate the local pd or courts, who *may* be stonewalling, from allowing us to exercise our rights. But you have GOT to be living in fantasy land if you thought this process was going to be smooth and easy. You cannot take a state that has a history of anti 2A behavior to allow all of a sudden, due to a ruling from the SCOTUS, that this state was mot part of, to all of a sudden just be, " oh ok here are your permits "...no fuss no muss. I don't put a lot of stock into stuff on facebook,, there are always two-sided to every story. Shoot there is a thread on here about how to get passport photos...think about that, people applying to carry a deadly weapon for self defense and they can't figure out how to get a flipping passport photo done... yea makes you wonder. Again not to make an excuse for a PD that may be clueless as to what to do, or adding roadblocks etc. - but for Pete's sake - walk softly and use a big stick only if you have to. Also if you are going to make stateme to as you have done above, citations and facts are appropriate- additionally if in fact that is happening- that is GREAT, and a win for us... Why? It will generate additional lawsuits to finally settle this once and for all, as it pertains to any onerous requirements and those abusing power. In lieu of bitching on Facebook, who still does that BTW, get the information to the ANJRPC legal teams.
  6. I think it's not the process, it's the qualifiers.....that is what the hangup is from what I am reading. There is interpretation of the requirements, that may seem ambiguous. This should be expected, not tolerated, but expected till it gets sorted out. Additionally, I did not multi quote, and this is not meant for you, but I think with firearms it's better to fly below the radar, in lieu of projecting a very large signature. Threats of suits, damming letters lawyers oh my.... what a great way to alienate and put a bullseye on your back. Now I am not saying roll over, but jeez....walk a bit softly..
  7. You and others keep quoting the court....that is fine...but bear in mind your are NOT in a state that embraces freedom...why is that? You stated your are 70+....what failed in your time that got us to this point in time....? The LEOS in my town are helpful...they support the 2a...but we r in the sticks and rednecks...what do we know
  8. Really? They went 'free'.... Did you all expect that towns and local PD's, that have no history in this stuff, where there is no guidance no precedent per se ....to just rubber stamp stuff and pass it along......or better yet that there would be no hiccups? Ya'll can't be that naive to think there would be no difference town to town etc...cmon... lol
  9. Again what township or town? Aren't 'feelings' great? There are feeling and then there are facts....however, is anyone surpriesed? This is all new to them, so I suspect they will be extra cautious.... And the statute says one of several ways... So there is ONE, choice...but they list four...where are the other three?
  10. In my sole opinion, if you are going to carry, and being this is NJ - if you God forbid end up in a situation where you need to use your weapon to defend yourself. I would want, as part of discovery, those looking into my history who may be trying to prosecute me - to see that I at least qualified to a standard that is accepted as part of the RPO qualification. Additionally, there are those that carry reloads for self defense, it has been said you can. I am not. Specifically because I DO reload...lest they say I used a round that I "hot rodded' to kill and maime...above what would be at least acceptable for LE use. If that day ever comes and I pray it never does, I want to have as little for those looking to jam me up, to have anything they can point to as a ding to my character. Overthinking? Maybe, but with this topic maybe we all should...
  11. So does this make all the other forms - no good...... ahhh bureaucracy Thanks Nick
  12. Where are you located in state? Ahh I see Philipsburg - - Reading is fundamental
  13. ^^^^^^This ^^^^double this ^^^^^^^triple this So much guess work, as I said in another thread, saw some guy at CR using NRA targets..where everything I have seen for any 'real' quals in NJ are Q targets.... My guess is that HQC-1 is what it will be.... Now the question remains, if you qualified using some.other course of fire, is your app going to be accepted? If it is not, is your instructor going to make good on fleecing you of green...or is it caveat emptor?
  14. Saw some guy qualifying a bunch of people at CR yesterday.... low ready.... and the following targets.... not the Q. NRA 10 foot basic pistol.... NRA B-27 at 10 Ft and 10 yards... And I am punching a Q target at 25yds..stracthing my head
  15. How do you find the coverage compared to pricing tiers?
  16. So are you going to carry insurance? And if so who are you looking at?
  17. Unless they carry that then no? What do you mean by that.... Anyone have any comments about frangible ammunition?
