  1. Which is exactly why I just put in for 3 more permits. There's nothing I'm really wanting now, but the way Murphy is pushing with gun restrictions 2.0 (and maybe 3.0, 4.0, etc.), then add in all the crazy gun crap the Dems in the House are proposing, I figured it's time to obtain anything I might remotely might be interested in NOW, before the next manufactured crisis pops up. So, it's time to break out the crystal ball and wish list and make Christmas come early this year.
  2. One point about the NICS numbers. They tell you if a background check was done, but it doesn't tell how many items were bought at that time. Personally, I've bought more than a single item with one NICS check, more than once, so that NICS number by itself could be a little off. It should be bench marked against actual sales too. That's true too, it can't be the new normal. NICS checks are up 50% from 10 years ago, but I don't think the population grew 50% during the same time period, right?
  3. Not me... screw them. Careful there dude, my dog is nicer than 75% of the people I meet on the street. Can't they be sent to the local Chinese restaurant, one way? Exactly!! We should be able to declare them as dependents on on our taxes. What I've spent on my pup the last year or so would have bought a nice car.
  4. Hey Murphy, if I buy a dog license for my poochie, can I let him chew on your face? They probably don't. I bet people buy a few boxes at Dick's, where when they buy online, they buy cases.
  5. You forgot to add Murphy's other favorite motto: "Guns for me, but no guns for thee". Here's a picture from his speech on Tuesday. Notice anything?
  6. Just came back from my local PD. Yesterday they told me they weren't processing the online form but were going to check with their main clerk to see the status. I called this morning and they said they were going to process the online forms and were going to work through it. They said to come by and drop off SP-066 mental health form. So, they told me I'm the first one using the new system, we'll see how being the guinea pig works out.
  7. I agree. I would really love for them to address the 2A cases, but here is why I think they don't. If you look across the country, there are MANY anti-2A laws on the books. Example, our mag ban in NJ, NY SAFE ACT, WA registration, CA mag ban, Red Flag laws, different applications, etc. and that's before you even look at all the different CCW laws in the states and even the permitting process in the states. Hell, just in NJ we have different PDs making us do different crap to get permits. There are a lot more... How does the SCOTUS decide which one of these anti-2A cases to take on? They could spend all year just arguing the separate 2A cases and not take on any other issues. The only way I see it work to our advantage is for the SCOTUS to make blanket rulings that apply to all 50 states evenly. With as fragmented as the gun laws are in each state, and the crazy Dem leadership in some states, I just don't see them stepping into that hornets nest.
  8. Is it time yet for a NJGF group pallet purchase of assorted calibers? Who has a fork lift?
  9. Steve, your complete post was spot on, but I'll touch on this part, which goes along with what I said about snuffing out the bill BEFORE it comes to a vote. I don't have the exact answer now, but one way I believe it could work is we need to put MAJOR pressure on a Bill sponsor right at the point that the Bill is released/published, before it gets to conference. Somehow put extreme legal scare tactics on the Bill sponsor (or co-sponsors) that if that bill makes it to the floor for a vote, all legal hell (and harassment) will fall on that politician. Not sure how we can accomplish that yet.... It's using the same tactics the Dems used on smearing Kavanaugh with all their accusations and crap they dreamed up. It's the same tactics Jerry Nadler is using now to harass all of Trump's 80 family and associates for all types of documents searching for (fake) collusion. The Dems don't care if what they spew if true or false, it just intimidates the person they are targeting. We have to stop being the nice guys and it's time to let these individual politicians know were done taking their B.S. Using Dem tactics back against themselves is the first step. What others are there? The courts and the voting booth certainly aren't getting it done.
  10. We can only hope that SCOTUS takes on more 2A cases, and having a leaning conservative bench, hopefully will help. But like I mentioned above, they are asked to hear thousands of cases each year, but only take on dozens. How does one get them to agree to a 2A case with all the other cases in all areas floating around. It just sounds like a long shot to put all your chips on SCOTUS (not to mention the time frame for it to finally get there) we could all be dead by then.
  11. Same with me. I wasn't craving anything special, but thinking, if Murphy goes all communist, maybe now's the time to fill in any holes in the stable, before we're forced back to muskets.
  12. It won't and hasn't worked in the past. The Definition of Insanity, doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. Don't bet your house. The SCOTUS hadn't argued a 2A case for like a decade. They finally took one recently. They punted on all other hot potato opportunities the past decade. The reality is, the SCOTUS is asked to hear/argue like 7000 - 8000 cases a year, but only takes on 70 -80 in all areas. What's the chance they will step into the hornets nest and take on a partisan issue like 2A, considering there all types of fractured, unconstitutional 2A laws floating around the country now in different states (NY, CA, NJ, WA, OR, etc.)?
  13. Actually, they took about a month last time I applied via the paper trail, so not too bad. They just seem to be a little "slow" as in mental processing, hick town. That's definitely true. My town is a "red" town, so there isn't too many obstructions, except for just being pineys. Right, me too. We didn't have to pay that when we did normal paper trail permits, just the $2 per permit, did we? I'll be interested when I talk to the guy in charge tomorrow what their deal is with accepting online apps.
  14. No SP-066... how did you manage that, bring them wine? Actually, the $21 online fee is BS too, plus the $6 to the PD. Screwing us again. The paper packet they gave me today to fill out states I need to go onto the SP portal and fill out a online criminal records request form and pay $20. Then return the confirmation email back to them. When I bring back that confirmation, I have to sign the SP-066 in front of them. The electronic results gets sent directly to the PD. I don't remember having to do that last time I got permits. Must be another way to extract money from us for a "Right". Interesting, they will receive the results of the criminal records check electronically, but they claim they can't receive the electronic application and references the same way. Sounds screwed up.
  15. I totally understand the difference, but it took a bit to get it. It definitely makes sense to separate the two. My concern is if a post shows up, and a responder doesn't check to see which forum group they are in, they might cross post the wrong info or reply in the wrong area. Everyone needs to be aware what thread they are responding to. Threads, many times, go off on tangents.
  16. I think they did it to remove some of the paperwork and processing burden for the clerks. Processing manual forms, mailing and sending out referral letters, tracking return letters, etc. is time consuming. Putting it online and emailing referrals frees up a ton of time for the clerks and automates the process. I wonder how many application forms come in incomplete and the clerks have to chase the applicants to fix. The online form won't let you submit a incomplete application. Is the link in the email working for them, or are they copying it wrong?. Or, after they answer all the questions, are they getting an error? Both of my references didn't have any issues following the email they got and completing the form.
  17. Did you turn in the SP-066 form with your $6? Why you paid the $21 fee? Maybe because it was required?? Duh... Where do they find these people?
  18. That was my whole point the other day. There is no jeopardy for them to pass any B.S. Bill or law. There's no repercussions to them. Once it gets voted/signed into law, then it becomes a MAJOR financial and legal battle to overturn. We need to hit them BEFORE it gets to the voting stage. If these politician know there will be repercussions for passing B.S. bills, maybe they'll think twice before bringing up the NEXT B.S. Bill for a vote. If the Black Panthers can use voter intimidation at the polls, how do we use reverse voter intimidation to stop these idiots from even proposing the next B.S. Bill?
  19. Exactly the same thing that happened to me today. She wouldn't take my form or money, as she said they weren't processing online forms and told me to call a specific guy tomorrow, as he was going to check with the SP. Instead, she gave me the old style paper packet to fill out. Problem is, I already paid the $21 fee on Monday online. Really optimistic, are we?
  20. One of my references said it's the same questions as the mail in form, just online. Once they complete the Yes/No portion and hit submit, you'll get the email confirmation that they did the reference.
  21. Everyone needs to get off the "it will be thrown out in court" delusion. Any new gun law certainly won't be reversed in the district courts. The odds of one reaching the S.C. is an extremely slim chance. Even if it did, it would take YEARS... Everyone needs to wake up and understand the odds of a conservative S.C. coming to our rescue is a pipe dream. These potentially new laws need to be snuffed out BEFORE they are voted on and signed into law by Murphy. Once Murphy signs them, you're done. Wake up folks!
  22. Apparently something is screwy. The system let me do the application, but the clerks in the PD say they're not processing them. My suggestion for everyone is to call their PD before doing the online version. I'm going to be really pissed if I paid online for the application, only to have to pay again to do the manual forms.
  23. I did the online form Monday night, the system accepted the ORI number for my PD and let me proceed. I got the confirmation that the application was accepted. The system sent out emails to both of my references, and both references did the online forms. I received email conformation that the system has both references letters. I stopped in earlier at the PD to drop off the mental health form and was told by the clerk that they weren't processing the online applications, still doing paper. I asked how did the system accept all the information. All I got was a dumb look and the name of a guy to call tomorrow. Hint to the PD's, it's 2019, time to get electronic systems up to speed.
