  1. Actually, just looked it up: ... NRA revenues have climbed from $100 million in 1995, to $228 million in 2010, and up to $337 million in 2015. Less than half of the NRA’s money reportedly comes from membership dues—currently priced at one year for $40, five years for $140, or $1,500 for a lifetime. Instead, the lion’s share of NRA revenues comes from the gun industry and large corporations, which provide the group with grants, donations, and sometimes even a percentage of their firearm sales. Another source said they made $366 million in 2016. Then their spending: According to OpenSecrets.org, the NRA spent $5.1 million in 2017 on lobbying politicians, up from about $1.5 million in the early ’00s. But this may not give a clear indication of the NRA’s influence. Total NRA expenditures reportedly hit $419 million in 2016, up from $312 million the prior year—including $30 million in support of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. http://money.com/money/5178193/wayne-lapierre-net-worth-nra-money-salary/ So, they have money available, but is it being spent in the right areas that have the best returns?
  2. Not even close, but I can see where you fit the narrative "a little bit of knowledge is dangerous".
  3. When you drink the kool-aid by the gallons, like he does, you'll never get a realistic and honest points across. His mind is closed. Period.
  4. Typical snowflake response. You're spending way too much time with Greenday.
  5. Maybe you should go remind the dead guys of that point. I have been involved with new technology way back when you were wearing diapers, so try not to lecture people on what they know.
  6. Me too, as a side bar, I get non-stop solicitations from the NRA weekly looking for more money. Both by email and regular mail. This tells me that they really need more money. It's actually really annoying. All the crap they want you to buy, the constant offers to extend membership, even though mine isn't close to expiring, all the NRA branded bullshit to buy, offers by affiliates.. They should be putting more effort in obtaining NEW members, not hasstling existing ones...
  7. Yes, I can see how important that is when driving around downtown Trenton and other urban areas of NJ. Maybe I'll go buy two of them to get me to the WaWa that much faster.
  8. Maybe hit the brakes if something the size of a brick wall is in front of it and the driver isn't slowing down? I know, that's probably too much to ask of it , right? Hey, but that acceleration...
  9. Actually, I don't think the money is there like it needs to be. Main reason, membership. If reports are accurate, there are between 90 - 100 million gun owners in the country. The NRA claims they have a membership of 5 million. That's 5% of all gun owners, or 95% who choose NOT to join or don't see the value. Granted, many of the owners are Fudds, but still, the NRA isn't doing a really great job of getting everyone under the same roof, are they?
  10. How many IC cars with autopilot can't see tractor trailers?
  11. OK, here is the perfect example below of what I was saying. Here is just what I told you guys would happen with the Dem controlled House. They are going after Trump, Trump's businesses, anyone associated with Trump, etc. to try and find this elusive Russian collusion (that doesn't exist). The Dems don't give a crap what they allege, even if it's true or not, they just are planning on tying up Trump with so much B.S. inquiries, that he won't have time to do anything else but play defense. This is exactly what all the 2A organizations need to do with the anti 2A Dem politicians. Bury them in information and legal requests!!!! Chairman Jerrold Nadler says over 60 entities and individuals close to White House are getting document requests from House Judiciary Committee Monday Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said that his committee will be issuing document requests on Monday to dozens of individuals. “Tomorrow, we will be issuing document requests to over 60 different people and individuals from the White House to the Department of Justice, Donald Trump, Jr., Allen Weisselberg, to begin the investigations to present the case to the American people about obstruction of justice, corruption and abuse of power,” Nadler said on “This Week” Sunday. “Do you think the president obstructed justice?” asked ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos. “Yes, I do,” Nadler said. “We don’t have the facts yet. But we’re going to initiate proper investigations,” but not impeachment investigations. Nadler said that there can be crimes that “there can be crimes that are impeachable offenses and impeachable offenses that are not crimes.” https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/chairman-jerrold-nadler-60-entities-individuals-close-white/story?id=61431025 If there is any "abuse of power", it's all these B.S. investigations the Dems are doing. This is harassment in it's BIGGEST form!! It's time to turn the tables and use their own tactics against them!!
  12. I agree with everything you posted, so I wasn't going to copy it all. It was completely spot on. The only way we will get what's right is to FIGHT. These other feelgood ideas like "take a anti- 2A person to the range" is just feelgood B.S. It will never get the effect needed, only a few individuals might understand. It's not a large enough representation. Trying to have fruitful conversations with anti 2A people is an effort in futility. Their brainwashing by schools, media and Dem politicians runs too deep. At some point, the guys here need to wake up that a repeat of 1776 will be the ONLY way to get our 2A rights back. Sadly 99% will sit on their asses and whine on this forum, until ALL their 2A rights are gone, and they're back to shooting muskets.
  13. Or empty 30 round mag housings (with the base plates epoxied)?
  14. They have to be addressed/attacked BEFORE they get to that point. Yeah, something along those lines. Make it clear to the politicians that any attempt to subvert the 2A unconstitutionally with BS Bills will bury them is such piles of legal issues, they won't see the light of day. Right now, they have nothing to lose to throw out any BS 2A bill that they want. A major lobbying effort at the time the bill is introduced could be one answer. Basically, we need to intimidate and harass these politicians with ALL possibilities of legal retribution. It's the same thing the Democrats have been doing to Trump, his associates, Kavanaugh, Trump's family, etc. Maybe the fear of being economically buried in legal challenges might make them think twice. It's time to take a few pages out of the Dem/Socialist/Soros playbook. We have to stop playing nice and being the nice guys here. Remember, nice guys finish last. (Are you enjoying your 10 rounds mags and LACK of CCW?).
  15. I don't know about that. Isn't there enough other items included with the permit process to verify that. I doubt someone trying to steal your identity to buy a gun would go through the whole permit process. They would just go to downtown Camden.
  16. I agree with that. The piecemeal one at a time case won't produce the overall effect. It has to be a "All or Nothing" brute force by some powerful people and big legal minds to stop the total infringement as one complete package. These politicians need to be put on notice that we're done being their doormats. But, is there such a force that can be assembled to make that happen?
  17. How are the courts working out for us so far? Are you liking having your 30 round mags back? Oh, wait... These new laws need to be snuffed out LONG before they even get voted on and signed into law. Once signed, nothing gets repealed.
  18. How about autopilot? Seems like body design and crumple zones isn't helping safety there.. Tesla Model 3 driver again dies in crash with trailer, Autopilot not yet ruled out Earlier today, a Tesla Model 3 owner died in a tragic accident with a semi truck. The Model 3 went under the truck’s trailer resulting “in the roof being sheared off as it passed underneath,” which is known as a “side underride” accident. The circumstances are extremely similar to the famous 2016 fatal Autopilot crash. The accident is still under investigation and Autopilot hasn’t been ruled out. In this new accident, the vehicle again kept going for over 500 yards (half a km) before coming to a stop. https://electrek.co/2019/03/01/tesla-driver-crash-truck-trailer-autopilot/ Looks like the great acceleration is still doing well.
  19. I put down retired. It's never been an issue and they don't check anyone/anyplace else. The reality is, it shouldn't even be on the form. It's none of their business. And if it was, I'm sure they have a way to look it up internally through their state contacts and databases.
  20. Is Elon getting desperate? Eliminating retail stores? Does he think people will order cars online, just like they order DVDs on Amazon? Who's going to fix them? Tesla stock tanks a day after announcement on store closures, layoffs and first-quarter loss Tesla shares fell 8 percent Friday, a day after the electric car maker said it will be shuttering some stores and cutting jobs to reduce costs. CEO Elon Musk also said Tesla won’t turn a profit during the first quarter as it works to deliver its mid-size Model 3 sedan at a more affordable price tag of $35,000. “Given that there is a lot happening in Q1, and we are taking a lot of one time charges, and there are a lot of challenges getting cars to China and Europe, we do not expect to be profitable in Q1,” Musk said on a call with reporters Thursday evening. The store closures are part of a push to slash costs as much as possible to ensure the lowest-priced version of the car makes money. “There’s no way around it,” Musk said on the call. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/01/tesla-shares-slide-after-announcing-store-closures-layoffs-and-a-loss.html
  21. One by one, there might be some hope after all that these local Sheriffs will stick with their sworn duty to upholding the constitution from unlawful bills. We certainly need more of them! Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis says he and his deputies “will not comply” if Maryland lawmakers follow through with a long gun licensing and confiscation law. Lewis told Delmarva Now that he believes lawmakers are punishing residents throughout the state for the out-of-control crime in Baltimore. He said, “Law-abiding citizens are repeatedly being penalized because of Baltimore City’s inability to control their crime. And I’m sorry — I’m not someone’s puppet. I’m going to stand up for what I think is unjust and unconstitutional to the American people, including those living in the state in Maryland.” He added, “We’re gonna let them know that we are sick and tired of being penalized for Baltimore City’s inability to control crime. If these bills pass, we will not comply.” Police One reports that Maryland’s House Bill 786 “would regulate shotguns and hunting rifles similarly to handguns.” It would do this by creating a license for long gun ownership and requiring universal background checks on long gun sales/purchases. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/02/28/maryland-sheriff-gun-confiscation-bill-we-will-not-comply/ If you see this guy wandering around in Maryland, please go buy him a doughnut!
  22. Is your lifetime ending in the next year? If not, it might pay to plan a little better. What's coming might not be "Mad Max", but when the next economic meltdown hits in the next year or so, the last thing you want to have to do is go shopping when the zombie hoards are out in force. If the economic meltdown turns into a Depression (which is has a good chance to do), there's going to be a hell of a lot of desperate and hungry people wanting your stuff. Plan ahead or don't, your choice. Were you ever a Boy Scout, by any chance?
  23. Here's all you need to know about Smith, he's a traitor to the 2A. I'm going to copy the complete article. Universal background checks don't erode Second Amendment Written by Chris Smith: When I voted for the Brady Law in 1993, which took effect Feb. 28, 1994, it was to keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous persons including felons and abusers. Twenty-five years later — and 300 million background checks that have blocked 3 million purchases to dangerous individuals — few if any today seriously suggest that the Brady law should be repealed. I support the Second Amendment. Universal background checks prescribed in H.R. 8 are an attempt to ensure that firearms are procured, owned and used by responsible, law abiding citizens. According to the Brady Campaign, about one in five guns now sold in America are done without a background check. That’s a significant loophole. According to the CDC, there was a record 39,773 deaths from firearms in 2017 — 23,854 were self-inflicted and 14,542 were homicides. To mitigate gun violence in America, H.R. 8 expands Brady background checks to transactions by private sellers not currently covered by the law. Multiple school shootings have led to robust, comprehensive action at every level to make classrooms safer. I have visited many schools in my district, and I have found that while the threat is being taken seriously, no one policy, program or initiative can ensure the level of protection our students need and deserve. No constitutional right is absolute, including the Second Amendment. The First Amendment’s freedom of speech, for example, has reasonable limits including the promulgation of slander and libel law. To preserve public order, we accept reasonable restrictions on the freedom to assemble. Even freedom of religion isn’t without some modest boundaries. In like manner, universal background checks don’t erode Second Amendment rights but do help ensure much-needed protection from gun violence for everyone. Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J. 4th Congressional District https://www.app.com/story/opinion/readers/2019/02/28/universal-background-checks-dont-erode-second-amendment-letter/3008418002/
