Knife Question

I got into a "discussion" today with an ex-student. He said it was Ok to have an "assisted knife" in Jersey, of course, i told him it was not. I need to point him to where it says no spring loaded knives allowed. He said he showed his knife to plenty of cops and nobody told him it was banned?

I have an assisted knife gerber fast draw bought it at walmart they are legal because there is no button in the handle to release the blade

They are absolutely legal. A while back US Customs tried to label them autos but were shot down. I sell assisteds of every make and model and carry one every day. The above post about NYC however is correct. DON'T bring an assisted or anything over 3" into the city. they even consider Husky folding replaceable blade box cutters "switchblades" thanks to the DA Cyrus Vance.
