  1. Spoke with Joe... So they have the exclusive 11.75" from BA. Essentially cut to that length for these guns. The extra .25" gets over the legal limit. Good news is... I believe I am getting one of their guns so will have the three major ones and the LWRC soon after. Hoping to do some accuracy tests next week, everything from 50 to 300 with various ammo.
  2. Just to add, the majority of issues with steel case ammo is with semi-autos which have issues extracting the spent case. Sometimes feeding issues of new rounds. Depending on how it is coated, it may get stuck in the chamber. There is also the difference between steel case and aluminum case. I have generally had ZERO issues with aluminum cased ammo.
  3. 12.5" is in stock. https://www.ballisticadvantage.com/12-5-inch-556-gov-carbine-cmv-modern-barrel.html But also keep in mind. I had to remind Joe that building your own is legal in NJ so they may or may not sell you the barrel separately? I would think with having to re barrel guns, they are not going to sell any extras at the moment.
  4. Or you can just buy it direct. $116. https://www.ballisticadvantage.com/ar15-barrels/556-nato?barrel_length=44 currently out of stock but should be in soon.
  5. You can ask @Modern Materiel yourself. They are a vendor here after all. =P And yes, Joe does read the posts. I do have a call with him later today after the Smith Wesson earnings call.
  6. For those interested... Tried updating chat. but it was not going through as we are on a centos 6 server which is EOL. Latest chat needs centos 7. Can't really upgrade 6 to 7 so in middle or ordering a new ugpraded server while we are at it. Yep... that's what I get for chat. lol.

    IWI Masada 9mm

Dude, it's all about those massive slide serrations! You are just a fudd. =)

    IWI Masada 9mm

More for APX? Heh.... those things were on dirt cheap sale and the $100 rebate... still on? IIRC, I liked some things on the APX... but did not scream "buy me" to me... don't remember why.
  9. Now just need to move it out to 100 yards where things will matter more for accuracy.... But yes, for home defense or the purpose of 99% of users... these will all be accurate enough. But also have to keep in mind, will depend on the ammo you are putting in. Garbage in... Garbage out.

    CZ Scorpion

It's a really cool gun. A bit heavy, but quite frankly I think it is pointless in NJ.... Fake suppressor and a bastardized stock. Only thing is that the gun was a tad bulky. (although that was not helped by optics and a suppressor on the one I shot. =P ) If I was living in NJ and I wanted one... I would get an "Other Firearm" in 9mm or a regular AR in 9mm. Something to be said for same platform and things being where they are supposed to be i.e. if your other gun is an AR-15. Other one I like... the Kalashnikov USA AK in 9mm.
  11. Thanks. Looking forward to it!
  12. If you have the window up, it still works. If you left, does not. We were trying to upgrade the chat but someone broke it. Will get fixed in the next day or so as possibly will upgrade server at the same time.
  13. BA barrels are quite good... BUT not sure if those are currently the ones they use in Non-NFA guns. Will ask Joe. Keep in mind they had to replace barrels for the length.
  14. Move the foregrip back but you should have no issues with getting your thumb caught. Dark Storm was fairly heavy into OEM production so other bigger brands.. had DS make the parts. As far as brands... now that I have 2 of the guns, waiting for LWRC and know a good amount about the MM, Am fairly comfortable with whom each gun works good for. DS guy was here today and he shot my Troy, had nothing bad to say about it. Guns were different enough that depending on what features are important to you, you can do it. As far as accuracy, keep in mind, the more accuracy you want, the quicker the barrel life is going to go, there is definitely a relationship there. And quite honestly, most of the big OEMs all get their barrels and blanks at the same place. lol. companies most of us have never heard about . Accessories? Everyone has great products and bad products. Feel free to come out on Tuesday evening to GSSC. Troy rep will be there with his guns. I will bring my Troy and my Dark Storm Variant 1... which is the higher end one and oh my... that is a NICE gun. LWRC should be LWRC. Again on the MM, been asking for a gun to demo without pressure for quite a while now. but they are backed up and not really taking other dealer orders (as far as I know) until they catch up on rebarrelling the existing ones due to not making length as per NJSP.
  15. Why did you discard the Troy and Dark Storm? As far as accuracy... what are the expectations? I have two guns right now and should have the LWRC soon, so will do accuracy testing on all 3. My own take... with junk bulk ammo I am expecting 2 MOA. These are not match guns. With handloads, I think we may see 1.25 MOA... If shooting at human sized targets, i.e. self defense type of situations, I don't believe accuracy will be an issue. Let's put it this way... it's like saying I am going to buy the BMW M3 because it can go 180 mph but the Mercedes AMG is limited to 170 mph. Shooting these guns at anything say past 200... expecting match grade would be kind of stupid. Besides... if you want to shoot matches with these where accuracy will be needed... get ready to invest more money in triggers, optics (that Dot is not going to help), etc. If you want an accurate AR... just go buy a White Oak Armanent barrel.
  16. He has back issues... but I give him A+ for effort and remaining in it as long as he did! Let's see how many company reps and execs we can get into the Squat!
  17. Congrats! Yes... clays are their own world and starting you with a Citori? Ok... get ready to open up your wallet. It's like learning to drive in a luxury car. =P Everything else will just be crap.
  18. Had Brett from Dark Storm Industries over today and we had a squat down talking about their latest firearms including the two Non-NFA variants, the DS Typhoon and Variant 1 lines, in various calibers including 556, 308, 300 blackout and 9mm. Got a chance to shoot three different guns including a 9mm Non-NFA and a post ban, NJ compliant variant. Video will be out late this week I think. Thank you Brett, Ed and @Dark Storm
  19. In NJ as FPID. In PA... on Pistol paperwork.
  20. For guns? If you are looking to sell outright, list them here. If fairly priced will go quick. If you go to sell them at a shop, they will buy on the spot but expect about 50% of retail value. Consignment... depends on how well you know the dealer. Anywhere from 10% to 25% depending on value, with cheaper guns being more. Not worth it to them to make $20 on a $200 gun. Further keep in mind, if you are putting pistols on consignment, if they do not sell and you want to get them back, you WILL NEED NEW PISTOL PERMITS. In the eyes of the law, when they go to the store and get entered on their books, you need permit to get it back.
  21. My thoughts too. Have to ask an FFL on this, but my take was, a complete lower receiver comes out as either a rifle OR a pistol (if you are going to run it as a pistol). Stripped goes out as "other" So... would be a little concerned buying a completed lower, unless FFL wants to do it as "other"? I have not looked into this so do not know exactly. @FreedomSportsLLC @PK90 @JT Custom Guns @remixer
  22. I am not good enough? Or hating on Slavs? Hehe just got done today with Dark Storm here at the range.
  23. Thanks for chiming in and your additions. As I said, you are in the 1%. =P
