  1. if it is on private property, I do not see any issues, esp if going target shooting? For hunting, I personally do not know the answer, nor do I think there are many hunters here per say. check out www.newjerseyhunter.com.
  2. Just wanted to link this over from NJCSD.org Newly elected District 3 Congressman John Adler, Democrat, supports bringing back the failed federal Assault Weapons Ban. Adler's name was conspicuously missing from a list of Democrats who oppose the reinstatement of the ban. Adler won the congressional race by a narrow margin, defeating Republican Chris Myers for the seat held by Republican Jim Saxton for 12 terms. Saxton announced his retirement in 2007. New Jersey's third district has traditionally been a Republican stronghold, but targeted Democrat efforts there and record Democrat voter turnout helped give Adler the win. Democrats have coveted District 3 for a long time due, among other things, to its potential revenue base, and were gleeful to have gained control of that region of New Jersey. After his win, Adler termed his victory "a mandate for positive change in society," which reflected the Obama campaign's message of "Hope" and "Change". Given the onset of "buyer's remorse" and decreasing confidence in President Obama's policies, Adler could be walking a fine line by supporting radical Democrat proposals in what remains one of the more conservative areas of New Jersey. Congressman John Adler can be contacted about his support of the Assault Weapons Ban at one of his three offices: Washington, DC Office Congressman John Adler 1223 Longworth HOB Washington, D.C. 20515 Phone: (202) 225-4765 Fax: (202) 225-0778 Toms River Office Congressman John Adler 247 Main Street Toms River, NJ 08753-7468 Phone: (732) 914-2020 Fax: (732) 914-8351 Marlton Office Congressman John Adler 28 North Maple Marlton, NJ 08053-3021 Phone: (856) 985-2777 Fax: (856) 985-2788
  3. I am REALLY REALLY interested in this topic, and would love to get more discussion this very thing. I will reserve my comments until a good amount of you make your point.
  4. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the shootings around the nation... pittsburgh, the upstate NY one... a co worker came up to me in the office today, knowing I am a firearms person and was asking me about it. it really is disturbing.... While on the news they can use this as an excuse for more gun control, I am saying that if people had a right to defend themselves, if One person was concealed carrying there, there is a chance that not as many people would be hurt. As far as the media, what annoys me is that no one mentioned how many people died as a result of drunk drivers. and lastly, my heart goes out to all the people involved or dealing with the quake in Italy. I know how in NJ we do not worry about it as much... but back in Russia, I remember going outside in the middle of the night because of rumblings.
  5. Nothing was intended... but people do have alot of choices to try firearms... or honestly, just go to the range, gun owners are generally happy people passionate about firearms.
  6. Ready Aim fire is good in PA. I say support local if you can. Both ShoreShot and Brick Armory rent. Brick Armory has a good emount of Glocks, one in every caliber I believe, 1911 Wilson combat, a few 22lr such as Walther P22 and Ruger Mark 3? Shore Shot has even more. If anyone is ever at the range, more than glad to let you shoot mine. But yes. the theme is... you would not buy a car without driving it... with a firearm... have to at the bare minimum dry fire it in hand, and best would be to fire it. case in point... I was look at the S&W M&P 9c... at the bullet hole they had a demo day... shot the gun, and decided it was not for me. at brick armory... I knew I didnt like glocks... but rented a glock in a 45 and a 9mm to confirm that I REALLY do not like the way glocks fit in hand. At the same time... I love the way CZ's/EAA/Baby eagles fit, and XD's. Buyings guns because they look nice or you read on thenet... is what creates safe queens.
  7. Two reasons for this. First, just want to have a comprehensive list of other online forums for firearms.... and secondly, want to know if there is any place I missed =P National Forums The High Road.org Firearmstalk.com thefiringline.com Product Specific Xdtalk.com Taurus-armed.net berettaforum.net State Specific NJCSD.org PAFAO

  9. That is correct. I do not know if the ranges in north jersey rent... But post the days you will be here... and I am sure a forum member would be happy to go with you. But yes, both ShoreShot and Brick Armory rent. ShoreShot has a few more handguns that they rent, however a birdie told me that depending on when you will be here.. Brick Armory may have guns that go bang-bang-bang realllly fast. =P

    9mm or 45 acp?

I was in both to drop off the flyers Friday... at SC they had very little in... Anything that comes in, just gets sold. CMO, was busy, but yes, the they have the handguns setup, very difficult to see anything. Same thing with the rifles/shotguns. Worst part about it, they tooo much counter space, and too little guns. did you by any chance see the NJGF flyers? at SC they were at both ends of the counter. at CMO they were at the ammo counter in the corner.
  12. Just got back. Was a great time. Got there right at 4pm, as CZ Slinger was walking into the door. Was great to meet him, nice guy, loves his CZ. As always, not tooo many people at the range. Left at 7pm, just as people started getting there, upon leaving there were 8 people that arrived, new people, to rent. Did become an official member at BA today so will be there quite a bit more. And for anyone that is going there, there are NJ gun forums targets on the counter for people to use. For as many members as they have... still great to come in and not have a packed house. For about an hour and a half after CZ left, was there with my other, by self. No one pressuring you, stay as long as you want. When you are done, come out and let your eyes wonder on all of the new handguns in the case, and the full auto rifle's on the wall. -Maksim
  13. Wow, I will forever stop complaining about stripper clips. =P
  14. Just to firm it up... Should be there around 3:30/4pm.
  15. Have not, but knowing fedex... I would call them up directly. Fedex sometimes partners with the USPS to deliver some packages.
  16. You would be surprised. Bergen county votes republican typically anyway. The central jersey cooridor between Mercer county to monmouth is republican. Lonegan had like an 8 point lead over corzine in the polls... lets hope it stays through. I work on wall street, but I am sick of corzine. Gee... lets raise property taxes, sales taxes etc... so that we can give everyone a rebate. lol.
  17. Here is a question that got me thinking... and perhaps a two part question. One, how did you get involved with firearms, and Two, how does your spouse/significant other/family feel about firearms, and you specifically dealing with firearms. I got involved with firearms about 4 or 5 years ago after my brother brought home the first handgun and took me shooting. Initially, mom and dad were both freaked. The only other experience they had with them was with the mandatory knowing of how to dismantle and field strip and old rifle in the former soviet union schools. After a while, they learned to accept it. Took dad shooting, and got him converted... mom, will after I take her shooting. GF is a done deal, and enjoys it quite a bit. Wants the pink XD that Michele posted in the handgun thread. Extended family... only one cousin that I know about is a firearms owner. A few friends are quite good with it, my childhood friend thinks I am preparing for civil war, (he also happens to have voted for Obama). What are your experiences? the avatar photo is indeed me from like 1st grade in the soviet union.... and no, it was not a real Kalashnikov.
  18. He is one of the republican candidates running for governer of NJ. Right now, he is in a battle with Chris Christie for the republican nomination to run in the general election this fall against Corzine.
  19. Mosin m44. Kicks like a mule... but just something about it, esp after watching Enemy at the Gates.
  20. Will be there. Probly around 3pm. Look for NJGF logo on gun case, and NJGF targets. =P Who else? Tim?
  21. Was working on these, but speaking to a member here... made me get to them quickly. =P
  22. Shore shot and Brick armory are both that way. By any chance they have a range on site?
