  1. Chester Game Association http://www.chestergame.org/ This I believe is what you are referring to. I used to live in the next town north.
  2. Last time I was in Dicks Freehold, they had empty shelves pretty much. I am going there after work in a little while to kill time before me and my wife take our tour of the hospital baby wing. Hopefully they have something to look at this time lol - Tom That's a sweet baby wing. My daughter was born at Riverview and my son at Centrastate. Centrastate is a REALLY nice layout, and they have some nice amenities for the family too.
  3. mauser, Are you talking long guns or handguns? It's my understanding that at some gun shows, some exhibitors have NJ ffl's which makes the process somewhat different, is this correct??
  4. 40 s&w - I've paid as much as $20 for 50 rds FMJ at Silver Bullet in Rockaway, I think I paid between $15 and $16 for 50 rds of the same from Sportsman's Guide, and the Bullet Hole had 100 for $38, but I haven't been in a few weeks so I don't know if prices have risen. 525 bulk pack of 22lr from Dicks - $19.99 12 ga, 2-3/4" 1-1/8oz #8 shot, 25 rds, $7.57 - Sportsmans Guide
  5. I had a nice conversation with the officer (they had an electronic system) and actually told him I had been printed before, after the awkward silence I explained that it was for a substitute teacher certificate... Then he was more agreeable
  6. Welcome aboard from da hills of Passaic County
  7. I've heard about this on other sites as well. The most effective way to combat it is to prevent automated registration - which makes a boatload of work for you Maksim and other mods, and means registrations may take a day to get approved... Spam sucks, and it's not green - it wastes energy! Obama should prevent it.

    9mm or 45 acp?

Coincidence?? Maybe, but this just showed up in my email:
  9. Ebay or any auction site is a crap shoot. So often you have to bide your time and hold back. For instance, I've been looking for a trap bbl for my ithaca 37 (only had an 18" bbl) and they were all over $200, so when I saw a 30" for $140, I jumped on it. Of course, this week, one started at $15 with no reserve I may just pick it up for the hell of it.
  10. Submitted on Oct 30, FID and PP dated Dec 17 However, no notification, finally in late Jan, early Feb, I stopped by and said "Hey what's the deal" and the girl looked in the drawer and said "Here it is, didn't you get a letter??"
  11. I applied for 3 pp's on 4/7, called the pd today because none of my references have been contacted - I have not even been entered into the computer yet! Owning firearms in this country is not a privilege like so many other things (driving, hunting, etc) it's a right, guaranteed under the bill of rights to the US Constitution. My RIGHTS are being violated, I wonder (ha ha) if the ACLU would be interested?
  12. Geez, so much information in the few replies here that I don't know exactly where to start. 1) shotshells - I should have figured, I bought 250 shot shells for minimal coin 2) I have very very rarely sold any tool that I used frequently. The only one that comes to mind actually was a radial arm saw which I got my use out of and then donated. I've thrown out some tools due to them being utter crapola... 3) Books - off to the bookstore tonight 4) I may hold off the rifle stuff, sounds like a whole lotta work for little reward 5) NJ-Tom, pdf saved, will read later!

    Hi point carbines?

I just visited a guy this weekend that has one. He said, despite Hp's reputation as a cheap gun maker, he liked the gun, it was fun to shoot. BTW, this guy had the largest private citizen collection I have ever seen.
  14. http://lonegan.com/Home.aspx from wiki - but I can verify that he was with Americans for Prosperity: "Lonegan served as state director for Americans for Prosperity, a conservative public policy organization, from 2007 to 2009. As director he organized seminars throughout New Jersey. The organization fought three ballot questions in the state's 2007 election as well as Paid Family Leave, Low Income Housing mandates and new mandates for sprinklers in fireproof high rise buildings and Gov. Corzine's proposed budget."
  15. Gents, I'm considering reloading - partly because I'm a cheap B@$7ar9, and partly because I'm mechanically inclined and partly because I like to only depend on myself... So, that said, I'm considering the following: reloading handgun calibers possibly reloading shotgun no rifles to reload for (yet) What's the minimum investment required? A press obviously, any opinions or is that like the Glock vs XD debate? What else?
  16. Anyone have a review? Shoot there?
  17. My thoughts exactly. The only hope, in my opinion, is that many re-registered as dems in order to elect our current president, so hopefully, the republicans that remain can get Lonegan past the primary. If that's achievable, then I think he could do a smack-down on Corzine as long as he sticks to his core message. He's been priming for this race for a long time now, I'd like to see him get a shot and see if he can clean up Trenton.
  18. Dang, I just noticed a Luger and what appears to be a Woodsman - I might have to take a trip!
  19. Nor do I. Just from the pics you can see that the lighting is extremely uneven and its nearly impossible to see a hang tag.
  20. my understanding is that 22short is legal for certain hunting in nj, others are not?
  21. Xanadu is a typical Jersey Gov't related project, plagued by delays, poor planning, short sighted visions, and corruption (well, ok, I can't verify the corruption part but this IS NJ...) The original Corporate Sponsor (naming rights) was forced to pull out because of ties to Nazi Germany - and since the political climate has changed regarding corporate excess, no one else has been found to belly up with the $$$. Delays, delays, delays. Can we say "Meadowlands Commission"? They've lost 4 separate sets of submissions on a little project I have worked on, I can't imagine what they've done to Xanadu. Late contractor payments make for a really efficient construction method (that would be the get nothing done method). Has anyone actually driven past this technicolored abberation? FUUUUUUUUUUUUhhhhhgly!!
  22. Is the 39A NJ legal? It can hold 19 rds...

    15 Round AK Mags

Welding, to me, would be considered permanent, but I'm not a lawyer. But then, I would consider a rivet to be permanent too, and I would argue there are hundreds of bridges throughout this state that are constructed with rivets - show me how they're temporary...
