  1. I guess "the south will rise again" would not really work in the zombie context

You have made a very impresive choice for a first rifle! I am sure you will be very happy with it.
  3. Krdshrk, I think I saw them looking in the back window of the range, but I didn't see your post until I got home so I didn't say anything. When we do another match tell them they are welcome to join us if they want(it is only $5 for USANA members).
  4. Sorry I missed it. From what I heard clays were going down like Tosser's recent dates. Between you and Narc45ACP bringing the 308s, I may have to bring my 16" AR10 next time.
  5. Like Tosser said, thanks to everyone who came out and made it a fun day. I think my favorite part was putting faces to screen names, and meeting another bunch of great guys.
  6. As long as the people of NJ elect democrats and crappy republicans we will get f'd by the attorny generals that they appoint.
  7. I was always uncomfortable with the "AK type" language of the NJ statute because I thought this would eventually happen. I am sad to see that I was right, but glad I never bought any AK type rifles. Hopefully some of the current litigation will resolve this bs, as I don't think the legislature or that rino Christie ever will.
  8. By the way, I will have a loaner rifle for anyone who needs it, has trouble, or is not sighted in
  9. No sling required, but you will have to control your rifle during the pistol portion. If you don't have a sling that means you will be shooting the pistol one handed, while the other holds your rifle. As far as single point vs 2 point, either will work with single point being a lot easier to transfer the rifle to your support side to use both sides of cover.
  10. Thanks everyone for coming out and making today a really fun day. It was nice to meet a lot of you for the first time, and also good to see some old friends. I look forward to the next time we can do this, and hopefully we can come up with some fun new twists for you to keep things interesting and challenging.
  11. MedicYeti, I like the "fun shoot with friends" description. I also like how you will be able to shoot the stage as many times as you want, and thus gauge your own improvement or try different things.
  12. I look forward to seeing you there. Feel free to invite Thundar as well.
  13. Is the mount a lower 1/3 co-witness, or a true co-witness, and what is the weight of the mount? Thanks, and I am definitely interested.
  14. Tosser, let me know when, and if I am in NJ that weekend I will be there. Now that my work is starting to slow down let's go shooting at USANA some morning.
  15. $200 to make or transfer most items, $5 to transfer an AOW. If any of you are going to be in St. Mary's County, MD some weekend, get in touch with me and I will make arrangements for you to try some suppressors (and just go shooting in a privately owned gravel pit with no silly NJ rules B)).
  16. Shoot a good suppressed 22 and get back to me. All you hear is a pft, the action (if semi), and the bullet hitting the backstop. It is definitely hearing safe. To the guys watching youtube videos, just keep in mind that the sound on video is often very different that reality. Edited to add: Suppressed supersonic 223 sounds about like an unsupressed 22 rifle shooting supersonic ammo. Subsonic 223 is pretty damn quiet, but most loads will no cycle a semi.
  17. I wish I could join you MedicYeti, but I am helping out with the MDTS pistol class at Old Bridge. One of these weekends I have to make it down to one of your IDPA shoots.
  18. They are light. I had a full length one that I found too long so I shortened the lower tube about 1.5", and made a spacer to use an entry length receiver extension, for a Sully length Ace stock. It isn't bad other than the foam getting a little nasty after too many sweaty summer range days :|
  19. I like the length of the Sully stock, but I find them to balance best with a heavier barrel. With a lightweight barrel I really prefer a lighter stock, such as a pinned (at whatever lenght you like) Magpul MOE.
  20. I really like the T-1. All of the Aimpoint reliability and battery life, in a tiny light package.
  21. I am a big fan of the 14.5" lightweight middy. I have been running one since 2006. It even has the FSC556 you are considering. I have a Aimpoint T-1 on it now (formerly an EOTech), and the lower is a shortened Cavarms. It is a nice light, handy setup. Edited to add: If you are in south jersey let me know when and where you would like to get together and try it.

  23. After joining the SAF as a life member I have been tying to join this forum for a few days, and I was finally able to tonight. As a member of several 2nd Amendment orginizations I am really impressed with those, such as SAF, that are actively fighting to charge the status quo. Let us all get behind the orginizations who are actually fighting for those of us in states with restrictive gun laws.
  24. Of course, as snake and gator are good even when you aren't starving
