I agree, but if the law is Unconstitutional then who is clearly breaking the law? Don't get me wrong, I understand completely what you are saying, but how is the state of NJ able to lawfully put this guy behind bars when the Federal courts made it clear that the 2nd amendment applies to the states? I know SAF has a lawsuit along with NRA and hope these horrible laws that protect criminals and punish honest citizens will be overturned.

...and to think I was thinking of simply applying for a CCW in hopes I would get one. After reading their stories and they STILL were denied is unbelievable. I have no chance in HELL getting a CCW permit in NJ unless SAF is able to remove these unconstitutional laws. I did not realize how bad NJ is... I guess I simply became "numb" to it.BTW, Stalin was right... you tell a lie long enough and people start to believe it. I am VERY neurotic about locking up and do it all the time and have passed this onto my children. It is easy for teens to have no intention at all then while walking by a car, pull on the handle and the door opens and all "nice intentions" are gone. That's all it takes... So lock up even if you are in the middle of Nebraska in the middle of a 45" blizzard. It's too easy to lock the doors and that's why they [locks] are there. We live in a world where people's consciences are not what they used to be.

I like to be prepared and I believe in the Constitution, the USA, God and Natural law to defend oneself. A few years ago I would read of stories where people would get robbed or get caught in the middle of a bad situation, but they were few and far between. Now I am hearing of more thefts and robberies and am sure at some point it will get worse as our conditions worsen. it seems to be hitting "closer and closer to home". At what point do we as citizens say " I'm carrying... this is BS and I have a NEED to defend myself"? This question may sound "far fetched" but I honestly believe the time is coming and sooner than we think.

I have a concern that goes along with this... would a card like this make our information known on the Federal Level? Meaning, will this be the beginning of a Federal type of registry for our names or will it only be filed by the state? if only filed by the sate, who can have access to this information?

Ok, two questions. We are driving down to Disney in February. I have my Florida CCW, first off what do I do with my firearm when I get to SC? I know they do not recognize out of state residence with a FL CCW to carry concealed. However, could I leave my firearm in plain site and not in the glove box while traveling through there? Second question, I know firearms are not allowed in the parks, but what about when on Disney property like a Disney hotel, beach or just strolling through Downtown Disney?

I agree. I feel the same way.... it still sucks but at least if I see a deal 7 months from now I can get it on the spot. However,getting rid of these Unconstitutional CCW or open carry laws is my main concern.

Thank you all for your responses. We are picking up the summons today. I should have seen this coming... when I went to the scene of the accident (3 miles from my work and my daughter crying to me on the phone) this lady was VERY arrogant and cursing up a storm. I told her she had every right to be angry and let me know what we can do to help... she just kept bad mouthing, and yelling at my daughter. I bit my tongue several times. The cop chimed in and said "mam, you need to calm down..". I knew this was far from over....

Ok, so I am totally ticked and fed up with "trash" taking advantage of the system. About 1.5 years ago my daughter (17 at the time) was in a car accident. She was merging and swiped the side of the woman's car. She and my daughter were fine. The police made a report and submitted it to the insurance company. Of course the lady sued the insurance company for $2500. Now my daughter gets a summons in the mail for a Civil suit. I am "law" illiterate and could someone explain the basics on this. What can this woman do to me, my daughter...etc?

Just joined SAF... at least someone is fighting for us here in NJ. I know this is premature, but is this something that has a good chance of going through or should i not get my hopes up? And therein lies the problem. Your book does not make the laws. Your book does not determine whether or not he actually broke the laws. Your book does not determine whether or not he should be exempt from breaking the laws. This statement you made shows ignorance to the N'th degree. Simple possession was the crime here, and it is in fact a crime on the books. It DOES NOT matter how stupid, how unconstitutional, how much of a violation of rights a law is. If the law is on the books, then you either have to obey it or pay the consequences. If you dont like the law, then move out of NJ. It sucks, but YOU dont have the power to make laws or decide innocence. So Mcdonald vs Chicago does not mean crap? The state is breaking a law... a Constitutional law... why aren't you upset or defending the people on that? It is ok for the government to disregard fundamental laws but people can not disregard Unconstitutional ones? Who is the actual criminal here? Where the hell is that logic from? So if they make it illegal for you to grow vegetables then tough crap? Move out of the state? If you are forced to only use government contractors when doing work on your house, is that now a fair law? Now imagine if you let every one of those drugs mules or drug dealers carry a gun. All they would need is a clean record, have three references, pay the $100 fee, and just like that, you have a drug dealer carrying a legal weapon and there isn't a darn thing the police can do about it. This is the problem... criminals carry guns, criminals have guns and nothing will stop them from doing so. Not a silly Firearms ID system, Permit system or outlawing guns... criminals will ALWAYS get them and carry them... period. Remember, India has stringent anti-Gun laws yet the highest murder rate by guns. Also, 170,000,000 people have died in the last 100 years by Genocide when firearms have been confiscated. It is VERY CLEAR that it is not NOT the innocent, gun carrying tax payer you have to worry about... All they would need is a clean record Bingo... most will fail this. If they don't, revert back to what is posted above... they'll get a gun one way or another... period!

Would it be possible to find a friend or family in PA or another state and "sell" them the gun for $1? Then they can hold it for you until things clear up or you move out of this hell hole.

From what I understand is AK 47's have ALWAYS been illegal in NJ. Copies "OK", no pistol grips. Correct me if I am wrong... Sorry if I offended you but all the people I contacted were like "What? Did not hear of such a thing".

Talked to a friend who is a State policeman... knows nothing of it.

I have checked on the NJSP site... Nothing. I have checked with an FFL and gun range. They know nothing as well.Online through various sites and sources... Nothing. Anyone have ANY proof of this aside from someone posting they got a phone call? Either this is a sneaky, stealthy thing going on (REAL bad) or someone is messing around.

I spoke with my FFL and he said he did not hear of an AK confiscation. He sells AK copies and said has not received any calls regarding confiscation. I am putting the house up for sale because I see where this is heading. I have been wanting to get out of this state for a while and this makes it easier. Little by little they'll chip away until we are unarmed and become the next "West Berlin". I know I sound like a nut but these laws are getting ridiculous and only serve to hurt honest citizens. I pay a lot to live in this state and if expecting to be "free" sounds radical, then I guess I am.

Ummm... the freaking liberal media at it again. Several thousand rounds? That could be 4 boxes of .22!So what's up with 11 Rifles and 2 handguns.... this tells me he WAS NOT ready for Armageddon. Most Hunters have more guns than this... many more! He would have had 20,000+ rounds, 20 rifles (all fully automatic) and 7-8 handguns. He would also have 2 year supply of food, medicine, etc to be prepared for Armageddon. This is total BS and now people are being arrested for being prepared? Unbelievable....
