  1. We really have become a panicked society. Freaking snipers at the super bowl, give me a break.
  2. oh look the geriatric thinks he can still hang with the young guys. Ohhh you guys crack me up. Maybe you'd be better off disappearing until I move to Florida.
  3. That would yourself with your endless pointless babble. You just bore everything to death
  4. In rifle it makes a huge difference. Your primers seat more even thus leading to more accurate rounds. I just lay them out on a towel and let them air dry
  5. Nothing a Bow can't fix Frank. Time to start waking up a little earlier with the night vision my friend
  6. Be careful with wet tumbling and leaving primer pockets in. I've had a situation where I let the dry for several weeks and starting popping out primers and still had wet primer pockets. Your best bet is to deprime first.
  7. oh yes I've looked into the home built trailer thing and NJ changed the laws on this greatly. Now you need to show proof of receipts, you need to get the trailer weighed and provide pictures and documentation of how it was put together etc. Then and only then will DMV issue you a title and registration. Except my trailer carries below 2500 pounds so just registration. So I'm not sure that's feasible. I guess too many people were taking stolen trailers ripping the vin numbers off and registering them as home built.
  8. Old Dominion drops the truck off and leaves it over night for you to load and the same thing when you get to where your going. It's a do it yourself project.
  9. Never a truer statement. Put another 200 rounds through my 686 this weekend. Not only is that gun a tack driver but it's a joy to shoot. The trigger is just oh so lovely. You can get a short barreled Model 60 I believe it is which is yum yum. I'm sure Pizza Bob will chime in and he's the encyclopedia on Smiths
  10. Well I think I finally decided what I am going to do. I had a DUH moment today when I realized that my quote that I got from Old dominion could be reduced. The inside of a tractor trailer is 8'-6" wide. My bench is only 8ft wide. If I put the bench sideways inside the trailer I can fit all of my stuff within 5 linear ft of the trailer. Only downside is they have a minimum of 6ft that you have to take, so that makes it 1,065 with 4k in insurance. Now the only obstacle is figuring out how to get my stuff delivered to the girlfriends house as she lives on a single lane road and there is no way I can have a 25ft tractor trailer parked on her street over night. I am going to contact her town tomorrow to see if they have any solutions or if I can park it at the park down the street and cart the stuff to my girlfriends house in her truck. It's a little extra work but still worth the cost savings. Then I still have the option of taking the sailboat completely unloaded with the G6.
  11. The answer to that question would be Florida Ken.
  12. Not bad Ken. My days as a NJ resident are very numbered. Hoping to get out of here within the next couple months. Glad to see you haven't sold your guns and gone liberal on us.
  13. Who invited that guy into this thread. ughhhhh I agree with you Mark, SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPP!! Going to head to the lovely DMV and see if I can swindle a registration out of them.
  14. WOW Ken and Mike both show up on the same day. It's a miracle. Good to see your still kicking Ken, Dan and I were just wondering about you the other day.
  15. I thought about not getting 4wd but everyone i talk to who lives in Florida says don't buy a truck without 4wd. You won't use it a lot, but when you need it your going to hate yourself for not buying it. I plan on owning some acreage and the g/f has horses so I forsee myself pulling a horse trailer so I think I will definitely need the 4wd. Trust me, that was the first thing on my list i was like ok, i can save 2k dollars right here without going 4wd but it just doesn't seem to make sense. I have a couple things I need to do, that will make my life easier: 1. I need to find out if this shitty state is going to let me register the trailer that the boat is on. I have a couple ways I'm trying to go about doing this, if this doesn't happen, then the boat must be sold ASAP even if for a loss. 2. I'm going to take pictures of the boat the way it sits right now, list it on craigslist for what I want for it, if it sells it sells. If it sells, it makes my decision a 100 times easier. I have a quote from old dominion for 1300 dollars and that'll take everything. Done deal, I drive to Florida in my car with just my guns, no big deal. 3. In the mean time, try and work on the sailboat as much as I can to make it more appealing to someone who wants to buy it. At this point in the game, all my stuff is coming with me. It doesn't make sense to sell the safe and the bench and all this other stuff just to have to repurchase it when I arrive in Florida. The other option I still have is flying to Florida, grabbing my girlfriends Chevy 1500 and my buddy Chris and making the drive to NJ. I can load up the truck with the safe the bench the bed and the other crap. And put just the boat and trailer behind the car which if I take the centerboard out and everything else I'm looking at having only 600 pounds behind the G6 which is no biggie. With gas and airfare to fly down there, I'm looking at 700 dollars and I have all my stuff. That's always an option, but it's a **** ton of driving so I'm not immediately jumping to that conclusion. Keep em coming
  16. Moving the safe won't be a problem at all. I moved the safe into my parents house where I live now practically by myself, just with my brother providing support. I have several friends in Florida that are already offering to help move the safe, said they will even pick it up and carry it into the house if that's what they have to do to get it done. So, like I said, safe is the least of my worries. Getting my stuff to Florida in an economical way that makes sense is a whole different story.
  17. You do realize that towing just the boat and the trailer by itself with the car is at the limit. Let alone adding a 600 pound safe etc etc is definitely not going to happen.
  18. Thanks for the info TheMan. I had my resume up on there already, but I'm going to call the recruiting office for the Tampa area and at least talk to someone and see if they can work their magic. Also found a job on there to apply to as well. Keep the ideas coming gents, still unsure of what to do.
  19. At this point, I'm not moving until I have a job. So once I get to Florida I will have an income so that part of the equation I'm not too worried about. Renting a u-haul or a budget truck etc at this point isn't really viable. Even with the current 20% discount Budget is giving you, thats 800 for the truck, plus 600 in gas. At that point, I just found Old Dominion will move 8 linear ft of their tractor trailer so I figure and 8x8x8 space for 1300 dollars. Then I can maybe tow my sailboat with my G6 to Florida. At this point, selling the sailboat isn't an option. I have about 1500 into the sailboat, but its a current work in progress and I'm 1/2 way through a restoration. If I had the whole boat stripped and repainted I could easily finish it at the moment and sell it. But since I'm still stripping the bottom I don't think someone will pay to buy it at the moment. Another option I just came up with was to fly to Florida, get my girlfriend and my buddy Chris and drive my g/f's Chevy 1500 to NJ. Load up the G6 and the Chevy, and put the sailboat on the Chevy and then have my buddy Chris drive my G6 and me drive the Chevy. Stop in the Carolinas overnight to sleep and then continue to rest of the way to Florida. Gas would run me about 600 dollars, and even with putting 500 in tires on my G6 I'm still cheaper than having a mover move my stuff. Hmmm
  20. The boat weighs 600 and the trailer I guess at 150-200. That only leaves me with 200 pounds to spare. That's cutting it close especially since I still need to put all my guns in the trunk etc etc.
  21. Troy I'm not sure how the G6 would fair towing the sailboat all the way to Florida. Around town I wouldn't think twice about it, going 1200 miles that's kinda scary. To replace the safe I would definitely need something of the same size. As far as moving the safe, I have plenty of help already lined up in Florida to help me unload my truck and get the safe in the house etc so that part of the equation I'm not worried about. The only part that worries me is getting from NJ to FL in one piece LOL.
  22. The problem with selling stuff is it'll put me in a decent sized hole. I'd probably only be able to sell the safe for 700, it'll cost 1k to replace so that's 300. I'll need a new reloading bench when I get down there, that's 200. I'll need a new bed, that's like 800. Plus all the other stuff I own won't fit in my car plus i'd still need tires for the car either now or eventually. The more and more I think about it, the more sense it makes to just bite the bullet and buy a truck but does it make sense to buy a truck with 2wd or a non diesel to save money or to buy it without a crew cab. At this point I'm not sure of the answers to that.
