Oddly enough I ran into a NJ superior court Judge I know in a restaurant yesterday. He was having lunch with another friend of mine and we got into a discussion which touched on firearms. He believes it is illegal to possess any hollow point or DumDum bullets in NJ and that all firearms must be registered now. Based on the latest information he received as a judge. No I didn't ask where the info came from. Just reporting what he said.

I once responded to an article in the Nutley Sun written by a local policician extolling the virtues of "smart gun technology". I suggested the research money would be better spent on "smart bathing suit technology" as one is way more likly to drown while swimming then being killed by a gun.

I read an article a while back stating most officers shot in the line of duty are shot with their own guns. Resulting from being disarmed when making an arrest. Any yet police would be exempt from "smart gun technology" under NJ law. I would think they would be the first to embrace it under those circumstances.

There was a terrible accident in Nutley a while back. Belleville police officers were speeding to respond to a "suspicious persons" call back in Belleville.(or so the newspapers said). What they were doing in Nutley at 7am remains a mystery. Both were ejected from the car. I guess they were not wearing seatbelts. I lived quite close to wear the accident happened and I remember they did not have a siren on all I heard was a trememdous impact a few minutes of silence and then the sirens of the responding police and ambulance. A tragic waste of life.

I ordered a Cold Steel Bushman knife this morning. As you may or may not know it has a hollow handle which affords the opportunity to make a spear. I am wondering how much trouble that can get me into ? I do not intend to take it off my property but might try trowing it into a tree or two.

My wife and I looked into moving to Lehigh Valley last year. She is a PICU nurse at Columbia hospital in the city. She would have had to take a 50% cut in pay. So we could not make the move. I was really disappointed.
