To make Matt happy, I won't pretend to miss tonight's meet.

This was the East Brunswick store. I'd have brought it up, but I was running a few minutes late to get back from lunch, since Rt. 18 traffic was a mess at noon of all times. If this happened after work I'd have asked him to join the Dick's Super Friends Ammo Club.

Took my lunch hour today and went to Dicks to buy a few boxes of 223 Remington that were listed at $7.99 on sale. When I got to the counter, I asked the clerk about it and he told me that he had 5 cases yesterday, but they were all sold out. We chatted a bit and he gave me prices on some of the other .223 boxes. I thanked him for his time and continued to browse the gun counter. Right after that, another customer walked up and said hi to the clerk. The clerk went in back and came up with three boxes of the .223 Remington that were on sale. This annoys the hell out of me. I didn't think I'd need an in at Dicks Sporting Goods to get items that are listed on sale. How many boxes of this supposedly sold out ammo are sitting in back? I totally understand the point of a store taking care of loyal customers, but at what point do I get in the club? Meh.

I'm waiting for my Energizer Tactical flashlight to show up, it should be here today. I've managed to get a Bag of Crap once, but I've tried at least a dozen times.

The more I've read up on your upper, the more I want to build one. Looks like RRA sells complete A4 Varmint rifles that include their 2 stage match trigger for between $850-950, or I could build my own, since I'd probably go with a Magpul PRS stock. Decisions, decisions...

Looks good Jon! I noticed on the RRA site, they refer to the upper as .223 Wylde. Is this compatible with 5.56 NATO? I know .223 Rem and 5.56 are externally identical, but I also know that guns stamped .223 shouldn't use 5.56, but the opposite is fine. edit: Nevermind, I just read about the .223 Wylde chamber on RRA's site.

This looks like an interesting alternative to the usual AR's, and at $1299 retail, it comes in a bit lower than the SIG556. http://www.benelliusa.com/rifles/benell ... _rifle.php Thoughts?

The fact that it starts at all usually rules out the starter. Since the battery is only a year or two old, it shouldn't be the issue, but perhaps the wires are loose on the terminals.

Also, if you drive to a store and let the car sit for a half hour or so after driving it, does it start up, or does it hesitate then as well?

Running it dry won't have an effect once it's refilled. The whole "crap at the bottom of the gastank" thing is a myth. I'd have the alternator checked to make sure it's fully recharging the battery.

You can't go wrong at Brick Armory on a Tuesday night. I head down there from Spotswood, and it's not a long ride at all.

A brick of Federal bulk and 300 rounds of CCI Mini Mag. Out of the Federal Bulk, I did have a few ejection issues, maybe 6 times where a shell didn't eject and got smashed up a bit. No issues whatsoever with the CCI. Once I sighted the thing in I just couldn't stop shooting it, but I was pretty jealous at how light Jon's 10/22 was.

My wife and I had a good time down at Dix and Collier's Mills. We'll have to do that again when it's not overrun. Next time I'll bring balloons. Now I have to restock the 800 rounds of .22lr I ran through my Walther G22.

Does anyone have any experience with the 301/302/303 series of semi autos? I'm interested and they seem like a decent value. Thanks!

I've heard iffy things about Pro-Mags, but haven't ever used them. My CZ mags just arrived yesterday, and I've fed another 200 rounds through the CZ yesterday. Not one FTF or FTE, and I've been using various 115gr FMJ. Nothing fancy.

I'm always tempted by the OBPRC since it's only about 3 minutes from my house, but the financial and time commitment they expect from their members is just not feasible for me right now.
