the retired LEO RSO at the range that said he was "grandfathered in" to his 20round staccato mags is a different story though. I doubt most cops listen to the 17 round limit other than most guns don't have larger magazines anyways. I know plenty of cops and all the ones into guns may or may not have higher capacity stuff.

wouldn't the Wilson with factory 15 round mags be better than the c2 with 10 round mags for off duty? although I love the c2, how do you get around the 16 round mags?

The mistake wasn’t making them. The mistake was putting the colt name on them.

Are they all BCM grips? I really like my BCM grips but recently picked up a griffin A3 grip. I think I’ll be using that on any colt I get soon because it “almost” looks like a standard A2 grip but Is much better.

Colts and ACOGs. Still an awesome combo even if the market has progressed since then.

in my opinion sometime sales are less important than diluting the brand. Colt's bread and butter is being "mil-spec" the closer they are to that the better. i think the expanse was a mistake.

what I find funny is that I seem to think colt needs to do 3 (maybe 4) things for the civilian market and they seem unable to do any of them but they always get close. 1. base model military clones. we will give them a pass on 16" barrels instead of 14.5" but everything else should be exactly what they sold the military under those contracts. engravings, roll marks, if there is a C on the bolt carrier, that should be there too. this should be the 6920 but more accurate, not less accurate 2. they should offer "upgraded" versions of those rifles. so 6920 with KAC hand guards and sopmod stocks. maybe some mk18 clones. get some in there with a geissle rail. start small and go with a standard m4. 3. they need a mid-length 6920. same exact rifle as item 1 above, but with a little more real estate before the front sight. maybe 4: they need to offer parts individually at a better price. even if they are outsourced. who wouldn't want a nodak spud style vintage lower for their m16a1 parts kit but with genuine colt markings from colt. (honorable mention 5) a colt dissipator 16" barrel with mid or carbine length gas system (so I don't have to get one made)

funny thing is, I watched it after I posted it, and ignoring what he said, it doesn't seem they are much different than the older ones. at least its some video where you can really see what it looks like.

im just saying BCM because then you have options. it's like the colt is the base model. but if you don't want a standard M4 or to use bolt on KAC, DD or Centurion rails with the stock barrel nut, something like BCM would be a more customizable option than upgrading those things on a colt.

I've always been a fan of the colt 6920. I think its a better gun than most at the sub $1k range. but I think once you start getting over $1200 or so, you are probably getting into BCM territory. $2k is crazy. I really want an older LE6920 to turn into a colt dissipator one day.

nothing else has changed on paper. but Ive seen plenty of pictures that make me think they are just subcontracting them out to a cheaper bidder. I think I need to see a bigger group. they also say "carbine" and no longer say "m4 carbine" on them

I agree with the pricing stated. although I think when more people see the new colt cr6920 or whatever they call it, these will go up in value. I'd love to buy the top or Bottom one off of you for a dissipator build but no free $$$ right now

bumping an old thread but one could argue there is a big difference as well. an Avtomat Kalashnikov type could be argued to be a rifle designed with a double stack magazine, pistol grip, solid or folding stock, threaded barrel, etc. Once you remove those, you are no longer that "type". you are a neutered version of that. the m1 carbine on the other hand, has none of those features. so how do you neuter or change that into a different type? plus you have to take into account the reason the m1 carbine type is banned specifically when so many other similarly featured rifles are not. for that answer you have to go down the list a little more and you see Plainfield Machine Company Carbine.
