  1. http://www.pse-archery.com/cat.php?k=393665 Obviously out of the price range you mentioned, but I couldn't resist posting this dream crossbow that mounts on an AR-15 lower.
  2. Also... When Rick's riding into Atlanta and the other side of the highway is clogged with abandoned cars, I wanted to reach into the TV and slap him off the horse. LOL.
  3. I'm gonna pull out the hardcovers tonight and give 'em a re-read. Will post afterward, but I don't believe there was a helicopter in Atlanta.
  4. I was definitely impressed as well. I thought they did a good job with the selection and portrayal of weapons (except during the car chase when the deputy was told to chamber a round in his Glock 17 and "take the safety off.") Also, the tank scene was one of the few times I've ever seen disorientation/hearing loss from firing a pistol in an enclosed space accurately portrayed.
  5. I keep an Emerson A-100 on the dresser, as well as a Microtech Ultratech in my "tactical drawer." EDIT: pics tonight!
  6. Curious to know which magnet you use. I'm considering this one from CTD.
  7. +1 Failure of supply-chain food distribution should be a major concern for any disaster.
  8. Massad Ayoob commented on Van Drew's S2264 bill on his blog at Backwoods Home Magazine. Apologies if this is a re-post, the blog post was from the end of September. For anyone that doesn't read his blog, he offers a lot of great shooting advice, interspersed with updates on the national shooting culture.
  9. Wait, calling ahead to see if a store has something in stock to save yourself a pointless drive isn't acceptable anymore?
  10. Email already went out to corporate. Apologies for the language.
  11. FU, Dick's East Hanover lodge employees. You never pick up the damn phone when I call ahead. When I come in anyway (to find out you don't have any of the ammunition I was calling for), you never fail to live up to the store's name...DICKS. Even when you do have the ammo I need, you always have a general attitude problem. You're not doing me a favor by selling me things...I'm doing you a favor by buying them and keeping you employed. I'm not sure what your problem is, but I treat everyone I encounter with respect and general courtesy. I don't think it's asking too much to expect the same. So again, FU. On the contrary, big thumbs up to the Dick's Rockaway lodge employees. You pick up the phone every single time I call, and you're always willing to check ammunition stocks. Also, you're a friendly group of guys and you've always treated me with common customer courtesy.
  12. I picked up some Independence .45ACP (Efinger's rip-off, $27.99/box)during the shortage and just got around to shooting it at BH this morning. All the casings were marked Speer. Anyone know anything about this stuff? It was on the smoky/dirty side (though not terrible) but shot well with no misfires.
  13. Haha, was thinking the same thing. Let me know if you come across any plans or designs for a carrier (or if you have your own design).
  14. Nope, haven't had the opportunity. I'm not really in the market for a compact (NJ CCW, FTW!!!). One of my shooting buddies randomly picked up the Px4c, so I was able to get some range time in.
  15. +1 I have this range bag from Midawy and love it. Plus, it's on sale until 10/31! I've had a lot of cheap bags break down after a year or so of use. I'd rather spend more money up front for something that will last "forever," but that's just personal preference.
  16. LA Police Gear is offering a 30% discount on all Maxpedition gear. Use code MAXP30 at checkout. Not sure if anyone else uses Maxpedition, but I love their products (and prices). Note: LA Police Gear can sometimes be a pain in the a** to deal with, call for stock ahead of time to save yourself the hassle.
  17. +1 on what Ray Ray said. I shot the compact over the summer (I have the full-sized PX4 Storm and love it). The grip was very uncomfortable, and I don't have particularly large or small hands.

    M&P R8

Any forum members shoot the Smith & Wesson M&P R8? I'm vaguely in the market for a wheel gun, happened across this bad boy and I think I'm in love!
  19. I think "prescription medications" should be added to this list. Also, regarding #11 (pocket water filter). I picked up the Katadyn Pocket Filter, which is generally considered to be the top-of-the-line pocket water filter. It's a solid, well-built product. I got it from ManVenture Outpost, where it was significantly cheaper than any other place on the web. Product link Unfortunately, you have to sign up for an account to view the price (it's $190.92).
  20. wow, thanks ianargent! i never knew about the Union County range! I found more information here: Union County Sheriff's pistol range
  21. +1 My B.O.B. doubles as a get-home bag. This would likely not be the case if CCW was permitted in NJ.
  22. Mossy 590A1, 20" barrel Mesa Tactical telescoping stock (w/ recoil buffer) Hogue overmolded pistol grip Surefire LED weaponlight (apologies for the crappy pic, had to use my blackberry)
  23. I'm reading the hardcovers and I'm up to Book Four. They're freaking awesome and I'm really looking forward to the TV series. Series premier: Halloween (10/31) at 10PM on AMC
  24. Forgot to mention...PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!
