  1. Here's a few fairly easy things I would do in this order before bringing it back or paying somone to look at it. Chances are one of these is your issue. Try loading only 2-4 rounds in the mag and then fire, if they all feed then you know the issue is the magazines. Clean the hell out of the pistol if you already have not and make sure to scrub the hell out of the chamber and feed ramp with a bronze brush then reinspect in good lighting look for anything that should not be there uncommon, uneven wear, surfaces or obstruction. If you did not already try a new brand of higher end FMJ American ammunition, no hollow points no really cheap stuff. I dont recall you saying what you were using when all of this happened but since it was scarce until you got this it maybe some bad stuff. Remove and clean the extractor and make sure it's not overly worn and when reinstalled moves freely. Disassemble magazines completely so that they can be fully cleaned inspect followers and springs. Are they after market or origionals? The PPK/s should have the chamber indicator on it, if it does take a look see at that if they are not seated correctly or seized up it will cause feeding issues. Make sure that it's properly lubed and oiled PPK-s models are prone to james they require a heavy recoil spring and a lot of lube for them to cycle well. Hollow points DO NOT work well in older .380's make sure the barrel ramp does not look way off, too many people try and change the jump/angle of it so they can feed HP ammo and ruin them. PPk'S tend to be ammo picky and a lot of the time the magazines are the issue. Changing out the springs is the last thing I would do espically if it's a newer model and does not have a high round count. A lot of failures wether feeding or ejection is due to a few simple things, the ejectors, ramps, magizines, ammo or springs. PPK's are great pistols I wouldnt run it right back to the shope and take a loss until I did the above 1st. Youtube is your best friend if you need guience on how to fully disasseble the slide completely. Well now we know why it was back in a shops case for sale, Good luck and keep me posted, feel free to pm me if you like.
  2. Same thing there today, although they pretty much had squat come in this morning.
  3. They are a standard blow back designe typically pretty simple, when you fire the pistol with just one in the chamber and no mag does the slide stop lock back and engage correctly? What year is the pistol and is it a Walther or a clone?
  4. What type of pistol is it and what caliber? Its very possible that the Mag is not seated correctly and the relese button is not doing it's job, I have seen it happen on a HI Power I was working on for someone.
  5. As far as returning it for a full refund I highly doubt it, what type of gun is it, what kind of ammo are you using and explain what you mean by failing to feed. Is the spent casing ejecting and the next wont go in? Will it fire the found but not cycle? Have you removed the magazine completely and loaded 1 round in the chamer at a time and tried to fire each round like that? Lots of factors here.
  6. Anyone have a link to a story about this? I cannot find squat online about it.
  7. I was told 3 box's total today at a different store, I think it depends on the guy behind the counter.
  8. What grade is this rack, field or better? In any case It's in excellent condition and I like the stock a lot. Those are most likely not blotches in the finish it's the natural color of the walnut wood coming out, the Toms origional surplus wax will actually bring it out more, his white mix was made for more moddern stocks and only adds layers of protection without changing the color of the wood.
  9. Down to wolf hollow point or KSAP $5.59 per 20 rounds, about $290.00 per 1k shipped. http://www.aimsurplus.com/catalog.aspx?groupid=39&name=7.62x39
  10. LOL..... You have been given several great quality options in this thread so no I dont think anyone here knows what you are looking for. Sounds like you want a steel framed pistol at a price that makes you feel like you purchased something good. Taurus fan no not really but I know a shit load about all types of weapons and someone who can make a blanket statement like you did shows me you dont. Good luck with your decision.
  11. Sorry but this is a ridiculous statement, there are many guns that fall in the $350.00 to $500.00 range that are excellent range weapons, and many that fall under excellent CCW. If you think the quality if a firearm is soely dictated by the price then I have a few $3k 1911's I can sell you. Unless your friend purchased a CZ competition class 75 he spent no where near $1500.00 for a standard .40 and if he did he got raped. http://www.cz-usa.com/products/by-category/full-size/ The standard CZ Line starts out in the mid 500's and goes up to $700.00 msrp, retail is always cheaper. My CZ 75SP01 Cost $580.00 OTD from Shore Shot about 5 years back and they dont make them much better then that.
  12. See if you can find a FFL that will discount for doing 20 rifles, a lot of papaer work I guess, but it would be easy with 4 guys taking 5 each, just change the SN's on each form and your good to go. I would be in for the 5 as stated in the last thread that came up but I will be out of NJ in 4-5 weeks for good.
  13. I have the pre Jericho model IWI model in 9mm before they chaged over.
  14. Baby eagle is a good option but it will cost ya.
  15. Agulia is also Eley primed which is a step up from most cheap .22lr, I personally like it better then CCI right behind Lapua Standard plus. That is some of the best .22lr I have ever used, each bullet is perfect not one imperfection can be noticed and very clean.
  16. The cut of is 35 years old so if your more then half way there you better hurry, you will do the standard Army 10 week boot camp and you maybe deployed over seas on standard tours like all other military. Too many people join the NG, Coast guard, and Reserves just for the check but forget it's apart of the Armed forces and they are called upon like all other branches. Boot camp at 34 years of age is doable if you are in good shape but at 34 are you willing to have a guy that can be 6 or 7 years younger yelling in your face while you stand around in your underwear with 18 year old kids from all over the country? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. I think it's a great thing if you really want to serve and get a better life out of it but think about it long and hard. Good luck and keep us posted.
  17. Ohh hell then I am completely screwed then and have a lot of explaining to do since I have a dedicated cabinet of them. I can understand why a PA vendor may think that but for a NJ vendor to not know what is and what is not legal in the state where they do business is completely retarded. I would make sure I drive past there and onto the next shor or FFL from that day forward.
  18. I have a good amount of experiance with the Khar line if pistols, I own a CW9 and a PM40 they are excellent reliable and eat anything I feed them including steel cased ammunition. For a DAO trigger it's very smooth and has a crisp break. The only down side was they did not make any replacement sites for either model but they have fixed that and night sights can be had in either. I have no exp with the CM9 but I think you made the better over all choice for CCW.
  19. It really doesnt matter these day's if they do not work very well for you then you can always trade or sell them off, anything 22lr is holding it's value right now and then some.
  20. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F3MOSIN9130X&name=SHOOTERS+X+GRADE+Russian+1891%2f30+7.62x54R+Mosin+Nagants&groupid=256 AIM has $89.00 shooter grade 91/30's in stock.
  21. +1 This, this article has been discussed on just about every major site out there and there are several factors involved it in, 1 is shooting 5k rounds rapidly is going to heat the barrel up to no end which will cause all sorts of issues. If one were to shoot 5k-10k rouds out of their AR-15 over lets say a year or 2 then you will not see this kind of damage. Again this is not just my opinion this is been proven by others all over the net who have been shooting steel over a long period of time. Pushing anything to it's limit at one shot is going to damage it. Anyone own a boat? Drop it in the water and then open the throttle up all the way all the time guarantee you will have some major issues pretty soon. Regarding the extractor wear I faild to see any before pictures taken under a microsope to making a comparison of the after on a machined part is not exactly daming to me. Lets face it maybe 2 or 3% of the members on this site shoot 5-10k rounds a year period no less in one session. What many have taken away from this is that steel cased ammo performed rather well or better then expected. Litte to no jams, cleaner then the American brassed cased ammunition and unless you plan on going into a land war tomorrow all by yourself or have a mission to beat the s--t out of your rifle in one shooting session you can shoot steel cased ammo for a very long time with little to no heavy wear on the internals and will most likely have to change the barrel out never. Which coveres about 95% of casual shooters out there.
  22. Bolt action rifle: No they are fine Semi auto pistol: They suck Semi auto rifle: 50/50 they cycle fine in my Glenfield but were terriable in my GSG-5 but that rifle is a super pain in the ass.
