  1. Oh please, you read the Union propaganda and swallowed it whole because it's what you want to believe. Thank YOU for playing.
  2. If you consider it petty whining to expect what YOU WERE SOLD, then guilty as charged. Everyone, including the boso's at SS, seem to forget that the stuff they dropped with ZERO notice was all things they used as SELLING POINTS to get memberships. They essentially entered into a contract to provide those services "AS ADVERTISED" at the time you bought your membership. When it EXPIRED is the time to change those rules for a customer. Not even Verizon has the balls to pull that type of bs with their customers. They'll screw you AFTER your current contract is up, but they'll follow it to the letter while it's valid. Hmm, wonder if we could get enough customers who were effected to do a class action against SS. That'd be kind of funny win or lose.
  3. He made them start contributing to their benefits like everyone else.
  4. Um, you even posted the email from NJ2AS. We knew this already. " It was approved, but with a VERY stern stipulation from ASM Nelson Albano that ASW Linda Stender"
  5. I'm betting this bill will quietly disappear. The ONE good thing about stuff like this, is for the first time in the last 50 years NJ politicians are getting significant flak from the public. For these politicians, this is probably a first in their career. Before any time someone proposed gun legislation the public was mostly silent except for maybe a few hunters groups. If we'd had this much voice when they proposed that idiotic one gun a month bs, we probably could have stopped it. As long as we KEEP being vocal, and get more people to be vocal with us, maybe in our lifetimes we can drop the FID process. (I have zero hope on the CCW thing)
  6. They got what they wanted. A lot of guys here sent them a lot of business, when it reached critical mass and they were floundering dealing with it, they made stupid decisions about their business with little or no communication with their customers beyond, we don't care deal with it. Then to try and get rid of the "evidence" so to speak they dropped the forum and had all their posts deleted. Long story short, they spent some time here, got lots of new customers, made decisions that screwed long standing customers in favor of new ones, then left so when people searched google all those negative posts detailing their bs wouldn't show up. Personally I wouldn't have deleted anything, I'd have just stuck it an archive area that could still be found on a search engine. This site is too nice to these guys in my opinion. (Should have done the same thing with BA back in the day too)
  7. Shore Shot's biggest problem may just be that the owners just aren't there as often now. As the stores popularity grew, they've been less and less visible around the shop. Kyle, the owners son, was pretty much left in charge after a while. And he'd rather be out hanging with his friends than working in the shop. He tends to cruise in at noon and be MIA at 4pm. He really wants to be an "idea guy", not a working guy. And you never see owners on the weekends. They are just putting too much faith in their old employees and they think everything is roses because the place is so busy right now.
  8. It's just another pointless law that we don't need on the books. If we let them put this in, next you won't be able to walk past your front door with a gun in a case to go to a firing range.
  9. NJ ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER SCHOOL GROUNDS PENALTY INCREASE Possession of all BB guns and air guns would carry 7-10 year prison sentences with no possibility of leniency. Parents picking up their children at school after hunting or target shooting would also be at risk. Victim disarmament zones would be ensured. On Thursday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m., the New Jersey Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee is scheduled to consider A1216, legislation that would increase the penalty for possession of a "firearm" on the grounds of an educational institution, raising it from a third to second degree crime. Second degree crimes carry a presumptive 7-10 year prison sentence and a fine of up to $150,000, with no opportunity for New Jersey's "pre-trial intervention leniency program, and very limited sentencing discretion by the judge. New Jersey's definition of "firearm" includes all BB guns and air guns, even though they are commonly regarded as toys in much of the country. Someone who mistakenly possesses a BB gun or air gun on school grounds - even a broken one - would be subject to the lengthy and unforgiving prison sentence that A1216 imposes, with no possibility of leniency, and a presumption in favor of imprisonment. Also, parents picking up their children at school after hunting or target shooting, or to go hunting or target shooting, would also be at risk of A1216's draconian punishment if they enter on school grounds with a firearm unloaded and properly stored in their vehicle, even though they are not involved in criminal activity. This thoughtless legislation also virtually ensures that New Jerseyschools would become victim disarmament zones - even teachers licensed with gun permits would be subject to lengthy incarceration, chilling their right of self-defense to protect themselves and school children from attack. Ironically, A1216 is a "solution" to a problem that has already been solved. Firearms possession for an unlawful purpose is already a second degree crime in New Jersey, so this legislation adds nothing except cruel and unusual punishment for innocent mistakes. PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CONTACT MEMBERS OF THE ASSEMBLY LAW & PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE AND TELL THEM TO VOTE "NO" ON A1216! 10. I'm looking into a rifle or shotgun, but what I'd really like is a place to buy ammo from that's reasonable. I don't expect internet pricing, but I don't want to pay $5-6 a box more for 9mm ammo than what I'd pay with shipping from the internet either.
  11. L&H is in Wall right? May have to check them out.
  12. I've bought 2 guns from Shore Shot, 1 from BA, and 1 from Tiny's collection. Out of them all, Tiny was the best one to deal with haha. I rather like the guy, though he's a gruff sob. I switched back to BA after being with Shore Shot a couple of years. I just got tired of their continuing stream of BS. The guys over at BA just tend to be friendlier and when I walked in after 2 years, I got "Where have you been?"
  13. Ding ding, we have winner. They shouldn't be talking to your supervisor.
  14. I don't know, Christie isn't hurting us and I don't think Sweeney will do much either. Based on that, I'd rather have Christie. I least I know he won't give away the farm to unions again like the democrats like to do. Does anyone here believe that Sweeney wouldn't cave left and right to the unions that constitute a lot his voters? Before anyone gets uppity about unions, yes I know why the came about. Unfortunately that morphed into something different, protection for the untalented and unmotivated to keep their jobs no matter how inept they are just because they've been around a gazillion years with ridiculous benefits.
  15. HP rounds are not illegal to own, therefore they had no argument that they presented some imaginary risk to the public. They are illegal to use in the commission of a crime... which makes no sense to have a separate law for since it's illegal to use any gun or round in a crime.
  16. Uh, I'd double check that if I were you. As you aren't technically a New Jersey resident it could become dicey. Your drivers license says Florida and if you get pulled over and the cop notices the gun, you may spend the next few days in jail and the next several months trying to get your gun back. It's not a question of registration, it's a question of permanent residency as far as NJ is concerned. They aren't friendly to NJ residents and are down right nasty to out of towners, vacation home or not. It may be legal (not sure really), but I'd weight how gun illiterate the average police officer and DA is into that decision. They could really make your life miserable if anything happened. Heck, you could run into trouble trying to take your gun home at the airport without a FID. It's happened before. (unless your driving of course, then don't worry about it) And who the heck has a vacation home in NJ I want out of the state, and I sure as heck wouldn't visit it.
  17. It isn't the ammo that determines what it is.
  18. Any dealer that charges above MSRP to stay in business screwed up somewhere. I'd rather sell 3 guns making $50 each profit than one gun making $100 profit. Not to mention the more you sell the better your revenue stream as you aren't waiting for the one fool to come through the door willing to pay your price. Like I said earlier, I think several of the local shops have figured out that your average NJ gun buyer isn't very savvy.
  19. My rights are being denied as soon as I have to WAIT for a permit, it ends when I receive it. Then it starts up again after I use it and have to go through the process all over again.
  20. Generally speaking, even with the the nics, shipping, and transfer it's still considerably cheaper to buy elsewhere. Many of our gun stores are beyond predatory.
  21. The whole sale places charge them the same as the rest of the country. (this is where the local guys buy from ) What the local guys have figured out is that NJ guys EXPECT it to cost more so we just let it go. The reality is that the local (well SOME, I won't lump them all together) have artificially raised the prices because NJ consumers are well... dumb. 1st rule of retail is charge high for in demand items, charge low for stuff that isn't. If NJ was REALLY that bad with gun sales, they'd be charging dirt cheap prices to get those of us who do to buy as much as possible. Not pissing us off so we go buy on the interwebs.
  22. I just took my mother to the range last Monday... After seeing how popular they were she thinks we should open one up closer to us
