  1. But do you have the pro in .40? It was just released, and it is going to be real hard to find.
  2. To really add to the confusion, if I was in the market for a plastic fantastic (which I might be) I would pick this up. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_766367_-1_757955_757781_757781_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y 15 round mags, perfect for home defense and competition. Could be used in production, L-10, limited, steel matches with light loads.
  3. I understand that glock might be the "standard", but using that same theory, why would anyone buy a 1911 that is not an original or exact copy of the same? So all the refinements that were made to the 1911 to make it better and far superior than the original is a waste? So the beavertail, adjustable sights, ambi safety, 1 piece guide rod, are all rubbish? You can buy an 1911 GI model clone for little money. Or would you rather spend a few more and in some cases thousands more for a quality 1911? I like glocks, and I have one, but if I was looking for a firearm in the plastic fantastic category, I would consider all of them (except H&K) and purchase one that I felt would suit me best for my needs.
  4. Agreed! As I am an owner of 3 STI's and know many others, they are really good guns.
  5. You don't have to be a member. You just need a pistol or revolver, some magazines and lots of ammo. Look at the previous event for the stake shoot and you will find all you need to know. However feel free to ask if you have any more questions, someone or me will be able to answer. edit here is the link for the previous match. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/17595-2x4-match-at-cherry-ridge-saturday-814-830am-300pm/
  6. Hello! Did you go to BHS? Class of 90 here.
  7. Have you checked out the XDm in 45acp? mags will be an issue here in NJ. What about the M&P in 45acp? And lastly have you considered a double stack 1911 type gun from STI? example http://www.stiguns.com/guns/Tactical4.15/Tactical415.php
  8. 2x4 match Cherry Ridge 10/16/10. Who's going? Fastest time title defense on the line for voodoodaddy and I. Who's going and who wants it?
  9. yeah it's fairly new with a gas station. keep forgetting it's there
  10. Marlon, All joking aside, you shot extremely well. It shows that you have been practicing with dry fire and time at he range. Keep it up and you will see a noticeable improvement in your future matches.
  11. here it is in 9mm with some "free options" http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000AE1-1263828368
  12. I am not making excuses. I lost you guys won.
  13. If you ever come or go to a match, you will see that "most" of the "known" shooters are just cool down to earth regular people. Other than the fact that we pay to shoot and they get paid to shoot.
  14. Bob, glad you came out and shot the match. It was (and they always are) a long day at Old Bridge. Always try and get more water than what you think you'll need, some kind of snack/lunch, and keep some advil in your range bag. There are 2 WAWA's near Old Bridge both on Route 18. As far as the malfunctions go, Marlon and I were using the same type of primers in our ammo for our glocks. You (apparently) get some light strikes on the primers, which will cause problems (and time) throughout the match. needless to say I will NOT be using wolf primers EVER again in my glock. I might use whatever I have left in my other guns. I will be getting some winchester primers for my production loads. Also the internals of my glock are tweeked a bit, but I am running a factory spring, and have never had any issues whatsoever with other primers. Only with the wolf. And how "gamey" are we getting? Well, that is up to you, your wallet, and how much you want to push the envelope within the rules.
  15. I am not exactly sure how much the remington cost, but if you want to get a 1911 at a decent price, I would consider the STI Spartan. (http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=6DC0000-1161707138) They come in 45acp and 9mm. Get it from Dawson with the enhanced package, and you will have a good 1911, and save some bucks to buy ammo, mags, or whatever else. For the record I have a few STI's and they are fantastic.
  16. Yes a 1st generation G17 worked on by voodoodaddy custom. And as far as awesome pants go, nothing regarding your wardrobe issue. But if you plan on shooting awesome and having an awesome day, why not start by putting on a nice pair of awesome pants.
  17. It is only going to be awesome if everyone else puts on their awesome pants (shorts in my case) in the morning. BTW i am shooting production. I have been "challenged" by Tony. I have working out my spirit trigger finger vigorously.
  18. open to the public, just bring eyes and ears and water/snack if you plan on staying long.
  19. Here are some numbers from the USPSA website regarding the 6 area matches held so far. Area 1 316 total shooters, 185 shooting open and limited Area 4 230 total shooters, 136 shooting open and limited Area 8 (our area) 278 total shooters, 146 shooting open and limited Area 5 337 total shooters, 181 shooting open and limited Area 6 384 total shooters, 219 shooting open and limited Area 7 (north of us NY,CT, MA, VT, etc) 245 total shooters, 90 shooting open and limited The nationals which are held once a year are a two week long event split into two categories. With limited, limited 10, and revolver shooting one week and, open and production shooting the following week. This year's match(in Vegas) has not been held yet, but here are the numbers from last year; Open and production nationals 426 total shooters, 281 shooting in open Limited, limited 10, and revolver 355 total shooters, 231 shooting limited While looking at these numbers, you can see that many shooters attend the larger matches, many traveling from other states. even countries. Many times shooters come with families or loved ones and spend a few days in the area. Most of the time staying in local hotels, eating at local restaurants, spending money. Why can't we (NJ) benefit from this?
  20. Again, it seems like there might be quite a few of us there, and depending how many people actually go to the match, we MIGHT not be able to squad everyone in the same group.
