  1. I've personally seen DNA paternity tests thrown out for far far less. And at 1,000 bucks a pop, some people aren't willing enough to take them again.
  2. Way too many variables. Who admitted to having it, the dead guy? Any defense attorney would have it thrown out. Hell they get stuff thrown out for a lot less, failure to follow chain of custody and evidence tampering. Not sure if there was a bullet recovered or if the shell casing will say much. No way to really trace the weapon, i'm guessing it was illegally acquired. Everything could in fact point to this guy having the gun, it could be a very sound argument, however, the mere fact it was removed from the crime scene plays a very big role in whether the courts can use it as evidence. People have been recorded confessing crimes, and then later have the recording thrown out because of some violation of the law. Add the fact that ever person in that neighborhood is going to deny the guy having a weapon. Evidence is not just about how it connects the crime, its how it is collected and handled that plays an equal role.
  3. The gun means nothing at this point, completely inadmissible. If evidence does't follow a chain of custody it can be thrown out, let alone being completely removed by a stranger from the crime scene. Although i hope they nail that guy. Best bet would be gun powder residue on his hands.
  4. All i had read was someone pick up and walk away with a 45 caliber pistol. I'm not arguing that a person who is shot is not a threat, and the guy was probably dead either way, considering some of the officers had there backs turned to him trying to diffuse the crowed it would seem to me that its important to make sure the guy was in fact not a threat anymore. I would be thinking what if the guy did still have the gun and started to shoot bystanders and other officers. I'm speaking purely in this situation, given the video that was released. Maybe i've watched to many perfect scenario movie situations, I saw the opportunity to detain the guy eliminate the threat, free up man power to diffuse the crowed and zone off the crime scene, which could have possibly prevented the theft of evidence. When your thrown in the middle of chaos like this u need to eliminate the threats, not allow them to eliminate themselves. Say the guy continued to flop like a fish out of water and the crowed continued to get even more rowdy resulting in a riot. I'm sure this is acceptable practice by the police, and im not against it as policy. I understand that you guys want to go home at the end of the day, No DUH. But if i were in that situation, i would feel compelled to make sure that i was able to control the situation as much as possible. The whole video looked like pure chaos.
  5. Not sure if this qualifies as inexpensive, but it is probably the best bang for buck, although 2.5 hours run time is less then i would like but most of the cr123A seems to be around that. LA police gear does have some good deals.
  6. Still doesn't account for all the alcoholic tobacco smokers. I'm for this, because i know they will not change anything else in regards to the welfare system. If they wanted to find a way to make it more efficient then i dont think we would have to resort to making people take drug tests.
  7. No gun, No evidence. It's the duty of the police officers to secure the crime scene and evidence. How do they know it was a .45? They also waited for him to stop moving...you mean die? I have no sympathy for this guy, but a man convulsing on the ground from 5 gun shot wounds shouldn't be much of a threat, either way im guessing the guy was a goner, but they sound like a bunch of babies.
  8. I put the L.E.D. upgrade into my mini-mag light, went from 15 lumen to about 140. Nice upgrade to a flashlight i've owned for years. My link I was actually looking for a way to mount it to my rifle.
  9. I don't hang out with people that put themselves on pedestals, period. If you have to constantly remind people of how "Cool" you are, chances are your a total poser. My problem with people like this is that they don't think about practically anything, and do stupid things because they think their being "cool". I would say if he is this dumb running his mouth, chances are he will do something equally stupid with a gun in his hand.
  10. I believe so, my friend just got it in his town last week.
  11. 100% worth it. We always had issues with cablevision and the service itself sucked. With fios they installed it 3 years ago, we had to call them once to come back to the house and update the coax wires and since then we have never had 1 complaint. We get all the tv programs top teir internet and it is still cheaper then what we were paying for basic cablevision. One of my new fav. shows is the outdoor channel.

I agree, if they can make it reliable and hit the price mark this will turn into a very good option for HD. Like said, what would make it better then the others is the fact that is "compact" and has the ability to hold 2x the ammo. The only thing keeping me from using a shotgun for HD is the overall size.
  13. Page wont load for me, but i guess they hyperlink says it all lol.
  14. I've seen this before, or a video exactly like it. Talk about when seconds count.
  15. It may hurt gun shops but it helps private sellers. If you were to walk in a store and sell your firearm you would get way less money then if you put it up for consignment if it sells. Depending on the store they may take a percentage of the sale. In the end the store and seller get there fair share. I'm not really sure why people just outright sell guns to shops they, low ball you. I would opt for a private sale, if it doesn't sell then consignment. I've been in a store and the sales associate didn't even want to buy a gun off a guy because he said he could get way more for it in a private sale. The idea with consignment is that the firearm will sell, if doesn't it is just a risk the seller has to take, the store should go over all this when or if you do it so there aren't any surprises.
  16. haha, i was being modest, but yes that would indeed be much much cooler!
  17. yeah, this is not the first time this was brought up either. The question last time was regarding a return to the manufacture which did not warrant another p2p. But if the firearm is not being sent out through the retailer and is going on sale as inventory, then the store has to treat it like they own it, IE it goes down in the books and the only way to get it out is with a valid p2p. Look at is this way, you have a firearm and you have to transfer it to the store in order for them to sell it... if not then you would have to come in and physically sell the gun to the buyer. The store also become liable for the firearm. In some instances this a good thing, just a PITA.
  18. Ok that makes sense then. hard to remember all the friggen details, a lever action that can hold more then 15 w/ fixed tube would be legal tho correct?
  19. I thought fixed tubes didnt have a limit?
  20. They work! i use one to punch in and out at work and it is very consistent unless your hands are sweaty. When you program them you need to make sure u get a near perfect reading. They work based on a percentage read, if your within the limit it will accept the scan, so a poor initial scan will result in a low score all the time. The only thing that would make this cooler is if the other drawer opened with more guns!
  21. I would agree that many people have been pulled in to the firearms community because of the downturn of the economy, and the down turn in general of the government. Becuase the economy took a hit around the time the obama scare happened its hard to distinguish between the two. People are starting to realize that they are the only ones that can protect themselves when it really matters. For those already in the firearms community i feel they probably have less motivation to buy more, since they already have what they need. Necessities take precedence over everything. 2 years ago i had nothing, now i have 2 handguns and a rifle, i have shifted to purchasing ammo in bulk now when i can afford it. I would have many more firearm if i had the funds.
  22. As a general rule anyone can give you misinformation.
