Couple things to understand. The Dutch military does not get the same level of respect from the Dutch people as the military gets here. For them to shoot/execute disarmed combatants would be worse than an end to a career. Prison time and pariah. Now in this case with the NOS there it will never happen of course. Dutch government will never authorize execution of disarmed combatants. The Netherlands also do not have the death penalty and neither does Germany. Given this was a German vessel I don't think it would've happened either way. In case of a firefight they would've been taken out. This coming from a former member of the Dutch military. Rambling a little but you get my drift I'm sure.

Lot of hate for the boat I understand it's not a cheap hobby, I understand I'll need to sink money into a boat. That's all good, being able to take my family on the boat and go fish or cruise around whenever we want will be great. My kids are very outdoorsy and I want to stimulate that as much as I can, my enjoying it is a bonus. If owning the boat sucks then it's a lesson learned, all good. Thanks for all the pointers.

Thanks, heard all the negatives before. I said the same things myself even but I love being out on the ocean and fish. Both my boys get crazy enthusiastic about going fishing with my father in law on his boat. Unfortunately he is in FL . So it's time to get one and see if we also like owning one.

Hey guys, Looking around right now for a used 19-24' center console boat but don't know that much about boats from a technical perspective. Would be the first boat I own.
