  1. You have a lot of research to do, my friend. Yes, I'm very quiet And please, I'm not here to start a **** slinging contest. If you'd like to meet plenty more liberal gun owners like myself, check out http://www.theliberalgunclub.com/phpBB3/ or http://www.reddit.com/r/guns r/guns has over 27,000 members, almost fifteen times as many as this forum. Please try be open to the fact that there are quite a few of us on the left who love the second amendment. We hate people like Feinstein and Schumer just as much as you.
  2. I'm a flat out, openly proclaimed socialist. I also love guns and believe everyone has a right to own them. Please stop using paranoid stereotypes. Not all of us on the left want to take your guns from you.
  3. Eh, I don't like FPS Russia much. He shoots some cool guns but the fake Russian accent gets real old real fast.
  4. I should also point out that nutnfancy is a Mormon, which explains a lot.
  5. And you and I are in agreement on that. But thankfully, you and I don't have to be the test case. There are several people out there who have already crossed that line for us. They've been caught with standard arms, not us, so therefore we do not have to risk anything more than some of our money and/or spare time. So, my question is, assuming this guy or AR-15 guy are not prohibited persons and no intent to commit any other crime besides possession exists, then why do we not support them in their legal battle? Why are gun owners so quick to point and laugh, let the guy rot in jail over BS laws, then hop to the next section down the forum and complain about NJ's laws? The ability to challenge the AWB is a very dangerous gamble, so why do we so quickly dismiss those who have done so, rather than come to their aid, for the benefit of all? These cases present a great opportunity, why isn't anyone on board with it? EDIT TO ADD: I appreciate your integrity and character. I wish more people in law enforcement shared your views and followed in your footsteps.
  6. I would never violate the law. I'm purely speculating on the cases of others.
  7. Meh, someone's got to be the test case, unless you guys are fine with owning neutered rifles with non-standard magazines forever. Instead of jumping on this guy's back, or the guy with the AR-15, people ought to be looking to support these individuals, for the benefit of us all. I'm sure you and I can at least agree that our money would be better spent rounding up and jailing violent criminals, not people who posess standard devices legal in most of the country.
  8. Not really. He may have violated NJ's laws, but NJ's laws themselves are a violation of the constitution. The second amendment is all this man needs to own, sell, buy or carry this weapon. Now some may say, "hey dummy, the second amendment wasn't incorporated until last year in NJ!" and to that, I say, since the assault weapons ban makes no exception for pre ban stuff, then we as gun owners should not feel any sympathy for any laws made pre-McDonald. Call me crazy if you must.
  9. What a bunch of crap. Sitting in a jail cell for having a semi auto pistol and the standard magazines for it. This is America?
  10. I keep several loaded and ready to rock and roll, stashed in various places around the house.
  11. Not to be a dick but my rifle lives on a WD40 regiment after shooting and I was more than happy with my iron sights shooting at 200 yards today. I don't think I've even ran a patch or bore snake of any sort through that bore at all in at least a year. I used to be very in depth with cleaning, as you seemed to be, but found it does fine without all the fancy products and elaborate procedures. I forgot to clean it today so it's got a couple hundred rounds worth of salt sitting in it as we speak. I likely won't clean it for a few days as I'm away from home and have nothing to clean it with until next week anyway. I understand some people like "proper" cleaning procedures and some guns require them, but these things seem to like whatever I douse them with.
  12. On another note... Why not just take standard JHPs and simply fill the hollow nose with krazy glue, plasti-dip, etc.
  13. Like it or not, this may be the perfect test case for NJ's AWB. There was no violent crime committed nor any intent to do so apparent. If you want to make an omelet, you gotta crack a few eggs. You guys want the AWB overturned? Here's your test case. How else could you challenge the AWB, besides someone nonviolent being arrested for possession of one? You want change, here's your chance. It would be great for SAF and NJ2AS to get on board with this.
  14. I like the Smart Straw on the WD40 can, it lets me get a nice spray all into the barrel from the receiver. I let it drip dry. I do the same thing with the gas system. I put automotive bearing grease on the carrier and rails. I don't really clean the receiver I just make sure theres a little grease on the carrier and bolt. Rifle still shoots fine at 200 yards and I shoot corrosive mostly.
  15. Weren't you able to torture people in Manhunt also? EDIT: Yep, from wiki: The controversy surrounding the game stems from the graphic manner in which the player executes enemies. The game has three 'levels' of executions, and the executions get bloodier as the levels of execution progress. Level 1 executions are quick and the least bloody of the three, while Level 2 executions are considerably more gory, and Level 3 kills are over-the-top fatalities. The levels of fatalities are based on the lock-on's color (white, yellow, or red). For example, if using the plastic bag and the lock-on is white, then the fatality is minor. The player just suffocates the enemy and nothing else. If the lock-on is yellow, the player slips the bag over his head and continuously knees the enemy in the head. If the lock-on is red, then the player strangles, punches, and snaps the enemy's neck while the enemy groans in pain and suffers from lack of oxygen. The game's graphic presentation of the executions are accentuated in a style reminiscent of a snuff film, and the game encourages players to execute enemies as brutally as possible.[14][16][17] In 2007, former Rockstar employee Jeff Williams wrote on his blog that the game wasn't unanimously revered among the developers either, saying that "there was almost a mutiny at the company over that game",[18] and the game "just made us all feel icky. It was all about the violence, and it was realistic violence. We all knew there was no way we could explain away that game. There was no way to rationalize it. We were crossing a line."[19]
