Well, i got my knives today too. They are amazing. I had originally planned on giving them out as gifts but now i'm thinking of donating them. Or maybe selling them and donating the money to NJ2AS. What do you guys think? 20$ too much to ask?

I can almost guarantee that the NJGF crew would be more than happy to let you both try out our assortment of MK3's, 22-1911's and what ever else we have on hand. All at Dad's discretion of course. Before you know it, you'll both be shooting 625 revolvers. Things are about to get VERY expensive for you sir

Great question. I have an 8yo, and I too think about how to properly introduce him to this sport. For steel, i'd recommend a Ruger MK3. They are very reliable and the weight helps with recoil. There's also a ton of aftermarket parts that will allow you to modify the gun as he grows with the sport. USPSA is a different story. 22's don't make minor power factor but there are other options like OBRAMS. Which is fantastic BTW. It's new shooter friendly and teaches the USPSA basics without the pressure. But it'll be a few years before he meets the minimun age requirements. Good Luck

I still have my 2022 in 9mm. Great first gun, very reliable and eats everything. I just decided to get into steel and USPSA and it's not the best platform for competition stuff. If you ever make it down to Old Bridge i'd be happy to let you try it out.
