  1. Yes, if you will be camping in the winter get a 4 season tent. It is important. And, it will be more costly as well. I don't know if they are still popular, but I have and like a Sierra Designs 4 season tent. It is a 3-man tent that I used. If you are in Northern NJ, go to Campmor in Clifton. Or visit the website.
  2. When you said fingerprinting, was it the full fingerprinting that you had to do again, or just the print that goes on the card? Did they make you pay that ridiculous fingerprinting fee, again?
  3. So, at that point and time when you relinquish it, you would not be able to transport any of your firearms or buy another one until they issue the new one with the corrected address, which can take quite a bit of time?
  4. I personally like the idea of the XD 45 with the thumb safety.
  5. I assume that they cannot take it until they give you a new one, correct? Did you have to pay the money to get fingerprinted, again?
  6. If you move and need a change of address made on your Firearms ID Card, what is the procedure to get it replaced and/or reissued with the new address? Do you have to resubmit all paperwork at the new police station and go through background check, etc? Have you had any difficulty or unreasonable delay in doing this? Please provide details of your experience.
  7. How about a Beretta 92A1 and some cash?

  8. Welcome from a fellow Sussex County person!
  9. It is not necessary to be able to use both at the same time if another setup would be better. I intend to pickup another one of these nifty little carbines and keep one setup with sights and one without. Thanks for the heads up, Glen.
  10. I would like to get full-size 1" optics for My Ruger 10/.22 carbine. It has stainless barrel and synthetic stock and a Weaver mount. If possible, I would like to get something that would also allow me to use the iron sights in a pinch without removing, but that is not necessary. If anybody has experience or advice on what I should get for under $100, please advise.
  11. I saw one of the CZ75B Limited brushed stainless semi-automatic pistols with night sights and 15-round magazines and I was in awe. And the grip is a little better than a Beretta. If it was available, I think I would have to have one. That said, what CZ model do you recommend and why? I was thinking about a 75 Compact, or the SP--01...
  12. I cannot seem to find a Cougar 8045 or a Stoeger Cougar 8045 (which can attach a flash light). They appear to be out of stock, everywhere. I had my hands on a Beretta 92 Compact and it is nice, however, the grip/trigger dimensions are the same as the larger. So, unless you wanted it for holstering... still a little too big for concealed carry, but better... you would probably benefit from the larger one. Also, the front sight is not removable.

    Sp-01 vs 75b

Other than than the Beretta 92, the CZ 75B in brushed stainless with night sights is probably the most beautiful pistol I have ever seen. I'd go with the other one, as she would be too much of a distraction.
  14. Go with the Ruger. I would get one with changeable sights and get some night sights for it, or fiber optic, depending on what you are going to do with it. I don't think you can do with the Taurus. I have an older one and you certainly can't. Also, I get a pinch between the grip and the trigger guard with the Taurus and doesn't happen with a buddies Ruger. That might be solvable with new grips. The wooden ones are hard to hold onto it, anyway. Unless you get the Taurus at a good price, get the Ruger if the budget will allow. Personally, I would prefer an older Security/Speed six for feel, but I don't know about the barrel length or if the sights can be changed out.
  15. That would be in interesting marketing rumor for sales. If the grip-pistol relationship is the same it won't help me. It would be just as good to stick with the full size, for parts, etc. I may look into the Cougar, though. I have felt the 8000 grip and it is better for me.
  16. I won't support Dick's. I remember when they said they would only sell hunting guns. That is when I left them behind. No, I can only imagine that they must be doing away with it for financial reasons. The must not sell enough to keep staff there that can sell them. It is a sign of the times. But, if i am going to support a gun store. I would rather do it with a full-service one that doesn't have an attitude.
  17. I'm disappointed and probably won't join this range because I do not like their guest policy.
  18. I'll trade you my equipment for some barrels and slides.
  19. Does anyone have a strong opinion/mini-review on the 92FS Compact? Will it take the full-size 15-round magazines? Can the sights be changed out? Is the trigger reach, especially when firing double action as long as the 92FS? Is the hand grip the same large size as the full-size 92? I wonder if they will make a 92FSA1 Compact...
  20. The Statue of Liberty will be closing in October for at least a year for renovations.
  21. I have (3) of them and your two-year-old just wants to play with you. Get down and dirty in the sandbox with him. Get an electric car that he can move by himself. Get a kiddy pool and a boat. A lot of money isn't necessary. Exotic places aren't going to be that exciting. Make him a rocket out of a soda bottle. Go for a walk. Relax and play with him. Get him Buzz Light Year pajamas and you be Zurg. He probably really doesn't need that much extra stimulation. Go on a picnic.... etc. Just keep moving with him until he gets tired and drops.
  22. Jackdawack... I say Canon all the way! I bet you have a .45 ACP as well? However, I like the 9mm. Actually, photography is a very expensive hobby. An older framed body with some good glass will go a long way!
  23. There is a lot out there, but if your sweetie will be pursuing this further, I would suggest either a Canon or a Nikon. I am not sure about the new models and features and such, but you can find out a lot of information at Photo.net. I would suggest that if you don't have any lenses, yet, that you strongly consider a Canon system. I have an ancient Canon 10D, but it is awesome. Look at the Canon 60D. If you want to go a cheaper route, you can get the Rebel and it will take awesome photos as well, but the interface isn't as easy to manipulate. It might actually be better to get a Rebel and get a better lens. Lenses are the expensive part in the long run, but a couple good lenses will go a long way. But, you get the camera now, and then when Christmas comes you get a lens, etc. A Canon will require a lot of time and such invested in it to get it to do amazing things. If she won't want to take that time to learn up on it, then a point and shoot might be a better option.
  24. Get the Ruger, as you can update the sights. I want one with night sights! Also, my hand gets pinched when I use my older model Taurus 66 between the grip and the trigger guard. I wonder if changing the grip would help.
