  1. FYI, in NJ deadly force is NOT authorized for the protection of property.
  2. I wonder how many people here complaining about wait times on permits are the same one who chime in on various comment boards saying towns have way to many cops and that they should be laid off.
  3. Long guns aren't searchable, only handguns that you bought in NJ with a permit to purchase handgun.
  4. You have to submit reference again, they can be the same ones. The PD may or may not contact them again. I don't think Toms River contacts them again.
  5. I know it felt good to write it, but you might as well as have put it on toilet paper and flushed is down. Some staffer will read the first few lines and toss it. You might get a canned response letter thanking you for you input, but little else. Gun laws in NJ will never get better and probably get worse. Expecting NJ to change is like expecting California to change. aint going to happen I'm sorry to say.
  6. If you have your FID card and he weapons are transported properly there shouldn't be a problem. But this being NJ, you never know. If I stopped you and you met the criteria I just stated, there wouldn't be a problem.
  7. They wouldn't. The database only applies to handguns purchased in NJ and placed on a NJ P2P. Your FID card permits you to legally own a handgun in your home.
  8. It's been there for awhile. It's in NCIC 2000 in the same section as CCHs and IIIs. When you search Master Name Index, there is a button for Firearms search.
  9. You would be wrong. Every time you fill out a Permit to Purchase Handgun, the NJSP records it in their data base. That database is searchable by any municipality that has CJIS access, that is a fact.
  10. If the PD can access Criminal Histories, they can access handgun purchases. It's very easy to access and can be searched by name or SSN in a matter of minutes.
  11. I would just make sure you have you FID card with you when you transport. FYI all your NJ handgun purchases are searchable by any NJ Police Dept in the state computer system. If there was ever a question, it could be cleared up in 5 minutes.
  12. Word is Glock is backlogged 300,000 weapons. Our department just placed an order for Glock 22s and they said it would be 6 to 8 weeks
  13. Yup, I shipped my 1911 back to Kimber in NY for repair. Used Fedex.
  14. I wouldn't, unless you want to open a can of worms that might turn out badly depending on the Cop. If asked though, I wouldn't lie.
  15. Only FFL can ship through the US Post Office. You can ship firearms through private carriers such as UPS or Fed Ex. As long as the serial numbered frame hasn't been replaced, the gun has already been transfered to you and you don't need an FFL or a new PTP. No different then sending a gun back to the manufacturer for repair.
  16. In reality, you will be charged, will probably serve time in jail and will never to able to own firearms again. The prosecution will argue you should have retreated into your home and called the police. Welcome to NJ.
  17. To see if you have ever been involved in a domestic violence incident. Could be a disqualifier for being issued a permit.
  18. You only have to get fingerprinted once when you get your FID to establish an SBI record of your fingerprints, you don't have to be fingerprinted again, no matter the time frame. You will have to go back through the handgun purchasing process again with references and a criminal history, metal health and domestic violence check.
  19. I'm surprised Springfield doesn't offer a 10 round mag option for restricted states like Glock and S&W do.
  20. NJ is so anti gun, I doubt even a change in legislature would help. Even Christie, a Republican, thinks NJ gun law are fine the way they are. Things will get worse here, not better.
  21. Sad, but true. If we are lucky, the mummy will kick off while Christie is still in office. At least then we can get a republican in there for awhile and maybe he/she could hold the seat.
  22. No, I was totally serious. Politicians do "favors" for their big contributors all the time.
  23. In other words carrying an illegal weapon. 7 years in jail for you.
  24. My suggestion to anyone thinking of applying, don't bother. You're just wasting everyones time. If you are really serious about a NJ CCW permit, perhaps you should consider a large campaign contribution to your favorite county freeholder. Something in excess of $10,000 would probably do the trick.
