  1. I see where your going but I'm thinking more of a D-Day invasion. Deliver the petition to Trenton with a few thousand signatures. Get right in front of them with a brief intro then put the paperwork in their hand. On the same day, press releases to Fox News and Patriot Radio on Sirius XM. Matter of fact, have a camera crew with you when you deliver it. Even if it only ends up on youtube, it's still caught on tape and can be referred to by any media outlet who choses to pick up the story months, day, or weeks later.
  2. The on line petition is good but I'm talking about hitting the thousands of people who either don't bother going on line because they don't have a computer or an interest in the internet.
  3. Regardless of how futile it may sound, we have to keep the pressure on. I'm in favor of organizing a petition drive. We have to be able to gather at least a few thousand signatures if we all hit our family, friends, and ranges. Not to mention all the hunters and hunting clubs out there. In talking with friends this weekend who do not participate in this forum, they were outraged of the actions and claim to have send emails to the information I forwarded them (thank you NJGF family for providing the information). I'm saying we create a petition that addresses specifically A588, and expands to explain we want an overhaul of the gun laws with the input coming from the gun owners!
  4. I cannot make it there today due to work/child care issues. Do we have an idea as to how many people in our corner are going to Trenton today?
  5. I like the desert so probably Nevada somewhere outside Vegas. Other choices would be Kentucky, up in the mountains far enough away to be left alone but close enough to a town so it's not a 2 hour ride to get groceries.
  6. In the midst of our efforts to stop A588 from getting passed, I was wondering what the general consensus on S104 which address CCW in NJ is. http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2012/Bills/S0500/104_I1.HTM What are the odds of this passing? Should we be starting a heavy push with emails and phone calls to address this? I'm not crazy about the wording with "justifiable cause" being left up to the police chief since if a town has a chief that is anti gun, no one will get a permit.
  7. I can't help but wonder how much of a minority we really are. All I hear is about people leaving this state in numbers because of taxes and regulations. Seems like the majority who would support people like us have already left because it was easier to move than fight to get politics cleaned up. I'm stuck here because of family obligations. I have thought of moving to PA or DE, but the family throws a fit when I do. In my opinion, I'm here and I want my rights!
  8. Your welcome! They claim to have no hassle lifetime warranty. I have 3 Surefire lights, but have never needed warranty work. They seem to be built like tanks.
  9. http://www.surefire.com/contactus Surefire customer service web page. Good luck!
  10. I shared the petition link on Facebook and got immediate shares and likes from 3 friends! I hope we can keep the momentum moving forward!
  11. The irony of the whole situation: A588 passes, HR822 passes, NJ S104 passes (revisions for CCW in NJ). Now we can CCW however it's illegal to have the gun loaded in NJ since the AG bans all ammo!
  12. I'm not a fan about calling since reality is I will never actually speak to the person I want to talk to . I'm planning on emailing this letter, then copying and emailing to all the members listed in the post at the top of the thread.
  13. please send me some input on this! This is my first ever letter to an assemblyman and I don't want to look like a smack a$$!
  14. This is the rough draft of the letter I am sending my assemblyman Paul Moriarty: I am writing to ask that you please vote no to bill A558, which in synopsis prohibits possession of ammunition capable of penetrating body armor. There is wording in A558 that would give the State Attorney General the ability to prohibit all ammunition if he/she see that it is a threat to law enforcement officers. Armor piercing ammunition is already banned federally and in the state of New Jersey under NJ Administrative Code 2c:39-3f which reads: f. Dum-dum or body armor penetrating bullets. (1) Any person, other than a law enforcement officer or persons engaged in activities pursuant to subsection f. of N.J.S.2C:39-6, who knowingly has in his possession any hollow nose or dum-dum bullet, or (2) any person, other than a collector of firearms or ammunition as curios or relics as defined in Title 18, United States Code, section 921 (a) (13) and has in his possession a valid Collector of Curios and Relics License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, who knowingly has in his possession any body armor breaching or penetrating ammunition, which means: (a) ammunition primarily designed for use in a handgun, and (b) which is comprised of a bullet whose core or jacket, if the jacket is thicker than.025 of an inch, is made of tungsten carbide, or hard bronze, or other material which is harder than a rating of 72 or greater on the Rockwell B. Hardness Scale, and © is therefore capable of breaching or penetrating body armor, is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree. For purposes of this section, a collector may possess not more than three examples of each distinctive variation of the ammunition described above. A distinctive variation includes a different head stamp, composition, design, or color. As a New Jersey resident and a legal gun owner, this legislation could lead to a violation of my second amendment rights that are granted to all US citizens in the Constitution of the United States of America. Passing A558 could lead to negative effects to thousands of legal gun owners in New Jersey who enjoy the sport of shooting and right to protect our homes. A558 does nothing to prohibit unauthorized persons and criminals from acquiring or possessing ammunition.
  15. I have a PT1911 in 9MM, Stainless for a month now. Replaced the factory sights with Novak fiberoptic sights, and now I'm happy. Only down side is that I have yet to locate spare mags. I should add that if you buy the 9MM, make sure to shoot 124 g as recommended in the manual. 115g shoots like crap, at least in my experience.
  16. If we go this route there has to be an overhaul on the issues of self defense.
  17. Welcome! South Jersey Shooting Club is located in Winslow. Probably about 30-40 minutes away depending on where you are coming from in EHT. Only other range I know of is Atlantic County which apparently only open on weekends.
  18. Then next thing you know they will want to charge hundreds of dollars to get a "permit" and only allow guns used for competition to be transported to and from competition, and not be used at a shooting range unless it is deemed an "official" practice session, yadda yadda yadda...... This is just one of many issues that need to be overhauled in NJ. I think the key is we need to organize an approach with a group like NJ2AS, all get on board, and move forward as one in an organized, peaceful manner. Of course the key to success is going to be getting others who do not follow the forum or NJ gun law news on board and behind us. We need to get everyone from grand ma to wealthy/successful business owners to stand up with us to see that NJ gun laws exist to punish and cripple NJ gun owners, and that there is a whole culture of sane, law abiding citizens, who own firearms for collecting, home defense, sport shooting, etc.
