  1. My brother who lives in SC has a rifle that belongs to me. It was given to me when I was about 8 years old. I'm now over 60. So this is an antique gun. I would like to get it back. Can my brother just ship it to me or do I have to go through an FFL dealer? Thanks
  2. I was in the Army in 1973 and want to buy an AR 15 that has the same appearance as my M16. Any ideas as to what I want and costs? Also what are the laws in NJ about having an AR15?
  3. I'm a tip down with an assisted blade. Works well and when I flip that blade open my guys at work drop their jaws.
  4. First thing i would never go in to Cabelas the day after Christmas. With that said, I love going in there to see the antique guns. Reminds me of my dad shop in the 60's. The fish tank is also awesome. The best part of the store is the shooting range. I was in there last year with a friend of mine who brought her younger brother. So me a nice guy told him where to stand. As I shot the water target that kept hitting him with water spray. He had no idea It was me. Sometimes life is so good.

    New Guy

    Welcome from Morris County.
  6. Merry Christmas to all and a very good night.
  7. Welcome from another Morris County guy. There is a new range that just opened in Randolph. I checked it out a few days ago. The perfect place for a pistol guy. I'm a shotgun/rifle guy might bring a 223 up there but not a shotgun. I'm also a photographer and knife collector. I'm in to Yellowhorse knives and SOG knives.
  8. I always carry a knife on me most often a fixed blade. I also have a couple of folding knives in the car. The car knives are fast opening and have a seat belt cutter in the handle. Never know when you'll need one. OBTW, when you walk in to a restaurant with a fixed blade on your belt and a buck skin jacket you get fast service. - I'm a big Buck fan. I collect Buck knives and love the Yellowhorse custom knives.
  9. I sell knives on Ebay all the time, no problem. To keep safe sell to those over 18. What are you selling?
  10. Hi all. I am not one of those guys to toot their horn, however, now i am. I have two sons both in the military. My younger son is in the Navy working with the SEALs and my oldest is about to come home from Afghanistan next week, he's in the Army. His third tour. We just learned he was awarded a Bronze Star. How cool is that??
  11. Welcome. You might want to put in a few years in the Army as an MP. That might put you on top of the list.

    Hi also from Rockaway. Welcome.
  16. You are blaming the wrong person. It's not his fault. It's that extra charge for baggage. :-)

    Hello

My dad's shop was called "Primitive Arts" it was on the corner of 2nd street and Madison ave. I still have the original sign that hung out front. My youngest son asked me for a picture of the sign, he then had a tattoo of it put on his arm.. Never had been a fan of tattoo's but is does look good.

    Hello

No he was Harold (navi) Navratil, his shop was in the area now known as urban renewal. Second street and Madison Ave. I think Ray was on Front Street. My dad was forced out in about 1967 maybe a bit later, when Plainfield thought it would be a good idea to wipe out a block for parking!! I think Ray moved, also moved by the parking lot, to route 22 shopping center. I got my first hunting license from Ray's. I think my dad had the largest Winchester rifle collection in the country at that time. He had rifles on the wall from floor to ceiling. It was a great time to be a kid.

    Hello

I am new to shooting after many years and new to this forum. I am not new to guns. My father had a gun store in Plainfield, NJ for years and then moved to Kentucky. We had a shooting range in our basement in the 50's, how cool is that? I still live in NJ but no range in the basement
  22. I don't see how they are screwing me by doing their jobs. Isn't that we are paying them for. Once again thanks RBPD.
  23. But in my opinion the best knife for the money is a buck. They work, they last and if they don't buck stands behind em 100% I agree with Shawnmoore81 There is no better than a Buck. I collect and carry custom Bucks. The regular 110 buck is what your looking for. You can get some good deals on ebay. The basic 110 is fine, you don't need to go fancy, like I do. My favorite is a Yellowhorse custom, I have a few of those. They are more for collecting and selling than carrying. I just posted a Brian Yellowhorse Buck 110 on ebay yesterday. Sweet knife, to good to carry. NJGF Regular
  24. I would like to thank the Rockaway Borough Police for their handling of my firearms permit. Sargent Kyle took care of me and I had the permit in 4 weeks. I read so much about how bad police are about getting permits done, didn't happen to me. Thanks RBPD.
