  1. I don't need to try one, but thanks for the offer.... I'd trade you two new of the Sopmodspec stocks for a used MFT stock if you are interesting...
  2. Manufactured by Sopmodspec http://www.galleon.ph/product/detail/9814867/sopmodspec-advanced-essential-items-for-your-gun-black-commstock Let me know if you want to buy one. I have several still in packaging. I want to try the Mission First Tactical, Battle Link Minimalist Stock...
  3. The epoxy is covering screws for tightening the stock the the buffer tube. They have to be covered... or perhaps ground down.
  4. Ace makes great stocks... I have that exact stock on a different rifle. But an $89 stock vs a dab of epoxy is two very different approaches.
  5. Does NJ law specify Pinning an adjustable stock as the required remediation to be legal or is it just the defacto generally accepted method? I have a stock that has two recessed Allen key screws that screw down onto the buffer tube. They are to take any little wiggle out of the stock... when fully tighten you can NOT move the stock on the buffer tube with out destroying the tube unless the are loosened.. Would it be reasonable safe to epoxy over the recessed screw heads? This would require the screws be drilled out to adjust the stock. Same as if it was Pinned. The grey is the epoxy in the pic below.... I will touch it up black so it looks correct.
  6. Good movie...but my head hurt from trying to keep up with this have second subtitles...
  7. Yes he has... And he also posted an add to hire a Apprentice for HP Machine Shop... When you go to HP-Tacticl website it says HP Machine Shop.. So he is promoting his own company... why not just say so... whats with all the BS about find this great all american business... is he trying to avoid sponsor fees or something...
  8. The Meprolight M21 sight on my X95 Tavor had the same washout issue. Then some guy came up with a solution he calls a W.O.R. ( wash out remover). Basically a tiny little led light mounted to the side to give the reticle a boost in power when needed. Looks like a tiny charging handle.
  9. I spoke to several certified Forum Operators and the ACOG/RMR combo is so deadly effective they recommended The neck strain issue simply be mitigated via a Tactical Cervical Support System. The unit below is available in OD Green and FDE for operational deployment. Seriously though I want an RMR sight regardless.. I plan on using it on my Glock as well. It won't go to wast if it does not work well on the AGOG. I got the Dual Illumination 12.9MOA Amber Triangle. $520 shipped from optics planet. Including the AGOG mount. Thanks for the heads up on the Larue QD mount. The stock dual thumb screw just ain't going to cut it for long.
  10. Three sighting systems is the standard config for the ACOG ECOS product line. I'm just trying to duplicate the standard setup offered by Trijicon.. I would say the need is mostly "Aesthetic". That is the way Trijicon makes them so that is how I want mine to look.
  11. I'm looking to add an RMR sight to an ACOG TA01. My TA01 currently has BUIS in top center. I have found plenty of RMR mounts but no luck in locating the side offset BUIS. Trijicon website only lists the center BUIS and eBay /google search was no help.. Any suggestion on how to obtain these? See photo below of the center BUIS and offset BUIS with RMR..
  12. I don't thing any version of this where people can carry in there home state on a non-resident CCW will pass. Sorry NJ.... but as most versions are currently written a NJ resident with a Utah non resident CCW will be able to carry in NYC and vice versa... I think once the reality of this settles in and we show that the streets are not running red with blood that the rest of the dominos will fall in place for us. Just a matter of time...
  13. As I mentioned the receivers were purchased by me and for me... but due to the recent political change I decided I don't need to own as many... Hence my decision to help put a few of them into deserving homes of shooting enthusiast for free in one case ( for my brother) and at significant financial loss to a few friends who otherwise would not purchase an AR-15. I'm not sure why me accessorizing the receivers before selling would matter? In any case if it is illegal I don't want to hide it by not discussing it.... I want to get advice on how to go about this 100% above board.... what is the best way to ensure this is done legally... The NY build is already going thru an FFL to be transferred. The other my plan was to just have a COE filled out... to be in the "Business" doesn't that mean for a profit? This is all being done at a significant loss to help promote our 2A cause.
  14. A quick family portrait while they are all still together. The three on the floor will be making their way to new homes. A fourth already left on Sunday... similar to the NY Safe Act build but with regular pistol grip and muzzle break.
  15. The Ares SCR is an awesome concept... I would even consider building one for use here in NJ. This would be my dream. For these Budget Builds I am working thru half of a 10 pack of Anderson Lowers I already own.
  16. This is the Thordson Stock... In comparison to the cost of the rifle it is very expensive indeed...
  17. I finished putting together the NY Safe Act Build Rifle..I like the "Door Breach" thread protector... The Spur Grip is horrible... not so bad to shoot but if you go to pick up rifle the only way to get a hold is to put your finger through the trigger guard.. Very dangerous. I may recommend he save up to install a Thordson Stock. pp
  18. Perhaps... but you must agree still an outstanding value for what was a fully functioning adjustable stock before I just pinned it in place. . These were special made for the NJ market.[emoji3] I get the whole buy once cry once mentality... but for this build I am looking at it from a different perspective... As i'm sure others on here may be interested In a complete KeyMod upper for $179 or a $12 buffer tube that proves to be 100% reliable for range work.
  19. Remember my $500 build price is including Transfer fees, NICS, NJ compliance work, etc. To get even close to this price you would likely get an M4 style stock and hand guard which most owners will replace. My build has Magpul Style stock and free float keymod rails so aesthetic appeal would be a keeper for most. The core is made up of Anderson, PSA, Rock River and Bear Creak... all of which have a solid reputation as quality budget components. This build will not fail in the "heat of competition". She is "go to bench ready"... I'd be willing to "bet my online reputation on it". [emoji3]
  20. They $12 buffer tubes arrived today... I lucked out... every now and then you get more then you pay for... They are all the correct spec's, have a nice finish, and nicely cut threads... everything screwed together perfectly and now functions like it should.

  22. I found "Mil Spec" buffer tubes for $12 including shipping. Let's hope the aluminum is not so thin that the bolt comes flying out the back on the first shot... [emoji3]. http://www.rakuten.com/prod/291413536.html These rifles are turning out to be nice budget build range guns...
