  1. Looking good, I just finished putting my LPK into my lower, I'll post a pic from my phone. At what point do you have to "pin" your stock? Is it only if you have all parts that could allow you to put together the AR, or do you have to get it pinned immediately? Reason I ask is I am building this AR over the next couple of months as I am moving to SC in July, but I'd like to get a buffer tube assbly and stock now but not if I am going to have to pin it. Anyone know?
  2. If you're ever planning a range trip to bobs send me a pm if you wouldn't mind me shooting a few rds through it? (I of course will supply my own ammo). I'd really like to shoot one before I decide to plunk down $400+
  3. Ya me 2, like 2 mins from it. Next time you see it send me a pm if you wouldn't mind, ill do the same. I missed out on a damn 1k rds deal for $249.99 a few weeks ago and have been kicking myself for not jumping on it.
  4. This is actually the west Windsor DSG, and they are out of practically everything. Stopped in a bit ago. Procrastinated again damn it.
  5. I really enjoy the Alaska reality tv shows that have been produced, and one of them was the "Alaska Experiment". In that show they had a combination rifle that was .22/.410 and I thought to myself it would be a pretty neat rifle to own and practice with, potentially even do a little small game hunting with. So I looked into them and did some searching and found the Savage Model 42. Saw a review on youtube, seemed pretty positive and looks like a fun rifle to shoot. Any other manufacturer's make these kinds of combo rifles that you folks know of? Anyone have a combination rifle? If so, what's the setup? How do you like it? This is really just another reason to purchase a new and different firearm, also would be a good trainer for my wife and my daughter when she becomes of age.
  6. That is a nice surprise. Have you shot the shield yet? I'm still on the fence between that and a subcompact. I've held the shield and the grip just seems so narrow and thin that I'm not sure what it'd shoot like, but everyone that has a shield raves about it. I am guessing you picked it up from Bob's given your location and Home Range info? What does Bob's offer for rentals? I haven't been there since I bought my XD9 from them almost 3 yrs ago, but I'd like it if they offered some of the handguns I'm contemplating and also to have my wife shoot a couple different models to get a feel for what she likes.
  7. Just called Hamilton PD (Mercer County) to inquire about my 3 permits I'm waiting for since January 8th and still get their BS response "there's a 5 month wait". I asked where I was in the process and mentioned the fact my references haven't even been contacted yet and he said there's no status updates. Detectives will call when they get to it. What a f**king crock of shit! I am pretty certain that come the end of May (5 months) I will still be waiting for these permits, and I will even go as far as to say that I will have moved out of the commie state in July before my permits get approved. And I'll just have to pick up the firearms that I want in my new FREE STATE of South Carolina. Unbelievable! The crap processes that we in this state have to go through is just unreal. 13 business weeks and counting....
  8. Anthony's in Manahawkin on Mill Creek Road. This guy makes THE BEST sausage pie around.
  9. I just attended this UT/FL CCW class at Buckeye G.C. This past Sunday and Cameron and his team are great! The class was informative and very well taught. There was serious discussion and some light hearted joking moments but safety was always número uno. I'd recommend taking courses with GAPPNJ and just want to thank Cameron, Tim and Grant.
  10. Mine finally got approved last night so heading over to pick up my receiver. Mine went through in about 9 days I think
  11. If anyone is looking for a shield there's one at Cheyenne for $420. They also had a XDs .45 and an XDm 9mm. Their handgun case was pretty bare. I went in yesterday and there couldn't have been more than 15 people in the store in the morning, it was so NICE!
  12. Check AIM Surplus, I just picked up the CMMG LPK for $79 shipped. I will eventually get pick up a Stag LPK when things calm down. I read a lot of good things about that and the DD LPK.
  13. Yeah I jumped the gun on that. It's really commercial boats and other boats that can qualify as a residence which mine cannot. The personal property tax is just like any MVC registration.
  14. She worked for Rutgers DDDC for 5 or 6 yrs and for the last year and a half has been working for Hopewell Twp regional school district. She's looking into part time contract work down there as we're going to try for a second child (daughter is 19 months old now) but she will be eventually starting her own practice.
  15. Ok so I had to google this because I was not following you at all and now I am a little bit concerned. SC charges "personal property tax" on vehicles (cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles). I have a truck, a boat, and a car. Hmmmm. Thanks for pointing this out, wasn't aware of this side of things, we focused on other key things to make a decision.
  16. tom what a small world, my wife is a speech language therapist as well! Where are you looking at that you found homes for 600k? Did you find homes lakefront on lake Wylie or something? That's the only way I could see 600k. Or are you looking elsewhere in nc?
  17. Well that didn't take long! Didn't you post in my thread asking how I convinced my wife? Good for you and your family. You're going to enjoy the trip, I'm not familiar with Durham but Charlotte is a great city. And I agree with the previous poster about checking out towns right across the border in SC like Fort Mill (where we are moving to this summer), Indian Land, Clover, Rock Hill. Mecklenburg County doesn't have that good a school system if you have kids which Charlotte is in. Fort Mill has the best in SC. SC has lower taxes than NC also. Maybe we'll see you down there someday! Can't help you for transport on the way down through other states or while in NC but I'd check their state website for the real, accurate information. Good luck, let us know how it turns out. We began packing up the house this past weekend!
  18. My wife and I took ours with GAPPNJ (Green Academy of Personal Protection NJ) at Range 14 and it was great. Just another option. I was going to try GFH but its way too far from me.
  19. Thanks Nick, will do. I'll look into this. I actually used ABF for my move back from AZ, it was real simple. Might have to look into this again, just not sure if it will work now because we have a ton of stuff. We do not. All of our family is here in NJ and my sister is in Bethlehem, PA. It took a while and a bit of coercion but she and I are on the same page: We need to do what's best for US, regardless if that means moving away from family. We are young (33,31) and have a 19 month old and are planning for another. We recognize that it's just not affordable and extremely hard to raise a family in NJ these days. She's excited for a change and a new chapter. But it did take a bit of time. I think the thing that sealed it for her was taking a trip down to Charlotte 4 years ago for the first time. She loved the people, the pace and way of life and it helped there's a few lakes nearby. We're very outdoorsy people so we hike, camp, wakeboard and SC/NC has all of that and more! I'm used to seeing the small PODS and PackRat containers, do they have larger ones because we'd need like 5 of those things! Thanks everyone for the congrats! We'll miss our family and great friends we have here but they can always come for a visit!!
  20. That is correct. And NC does have permits. I'm just working in Charlotte, our home will be 15 minutes across the border in SC. However I am moving to SC!!!
  21. I will have a nice two bedroom condo in Hamilton (the one by Princeton/Lawrenceville) up for rent by May/June but I think that's probably too far for you.
  22. No, it's not what you were thinking probably. I'm still waiting on my damn 3 P2P's in Hamilton. BUT, I did get word yesterday that my final approval came in for me to transfer to our Charlotte, NC satellite office and I can begin seriously moving forward with me and my family's move to Fort Mill, SC this summer!!! WOOHOOO!! This last approval was really semantics but I feel a relief that I know for sure (our plan was to actually move there whether or not I got approval, I just wouldn't be with this company. I am wondering if I will even get my permits by the time I move or before. It really sucks, but I have a really positive thing to look forward to. This move to the Carolina's has been a goal for my wife and I for the last 4 years but the real estate debacle and the financial crisis really put things on hold, so we are super excited to begin our next chapter in our lives in a FREE STATE! Now I need to look into interstate moving companies. Anyone have recommendations? Only company I am familiar with is Uhaul. I've only moved out-of-state once when I was in college when I moved to AZ but I only needed a 14' Uhaul truck with a dolly to tow my car. Now I am thinking I am going to need at least 24' truck. Company is not helping with relocation expenses so I am footing this bill but that's ok because it's a tax write-off. We currently live in a 2 bedroom condo but have belongings stored at my mother's house in her basement and at my dad's house in his garage. This should be an interesting move. Pack up our place, drive to dad's and pack up there, drive to mom's and pack up there. No fun. Plus I will probably have to leave my truck here and come back for it and our boat and drive that down separately unless one of the family members wants to drive it down for us. The countdown begins! Hoping to be down there by late July is all goes as planned. I can't get the smile off my face!!
  23. Thanks Wombat. I'd really like it if someone could post some pictures of the actual camera and the place you have it installed so I can see how you ran your power cables. I'd really like to avoid having a black cord running up and down my walls ya know? I'm seeing this endeavor as getting pretty expensive. Sounds like just purchasing the cams isn't just as plug-n-play as I had though.
