  1. I was on here looking for the same question... I applied aug 31 and my friend applied in early/mid august. He got his back at around 6 weeks. No word on mine yet and the town said the courthouse was now running around 3 months due to backlog. Crazy how in 2 weeks difference he got his months ago yet I am still waiting.
  2. I agrea with a few others that that size would be great for a good pellet gun or pellet pistol... I use these at my house when I do not feel like going to the range but still want to take some shots and practice my skills. Its amazing what some of these pellet guns are capabil of.
  3. Which range and date is the womens day at? might be something to send my wife to. Thanks.

I ended up picking up that used GP100 over on the NJhunters website, The guy was great and I could not beat the pricing he gave me. Gun was just as he described pretty scuffed up but very clean overall. I took it home took it fully apart cleaned every nook and cranny as well as polished out of of the scatches and it looks almost new. Now I just need to find some 357 ammo so I can try it out....
  5. I am not 100% sure about the P99 but with my wifes PPQ there is no decoker once you chamber the round the only safety is your finger. It is a striker fired as well but the only way to engauge the striker is to pull the slide. Then the only way to release the stiker is to drop the mag and dechamber the round and the pull the trigger.

    Help me decide

My problem is that I do have the permits but don't have the cash for both... I have try a bunch of guns this last year and to be honest I liked all of them for different reasons.. Also I have been in the metals industries machine shops and CAD work for years so I also love the mechanical aspects of the different types of guns... I think no matter what I will like either but if I go for the 1911 I may regret if I do not save up for the nicer gun from the get go.

OK guys I keep going back and forth on my next purchase my budget is pretty limited and right around $600. Some of the guns I am looking at are the: Ruger gp100 4" 357 ss RockIsland TAC 2 .45 OR if I can save up a few extra bucks the Ruger sr1911 I must also admit I have never shot any of these.. In 357 I shot a S&W 686-3 6 inch barrel and in .45 I shot a springfield GI model. I am definately leaning towards a 1911 something about them mechanically I just like however after holding the GP100 there is just something about a good old revolver to love as well plus I have seen a couple of used ones for sale well under my price cap. In a perfect world without real life bills like the kids wife and mortgage I would buy any of these choices or even better optinons I also already have a 22 and a 9mm plus an old BP revolver i inherited which I have yet to shoot since I have to get reloading equipment before I can..
  9. I grew up in Nashua and love it up there. I was just in salem during the easter break. Like others have said you have Kittery trading post as a large store but most of your small firearms stores that I went into had 9mm readily avialable up their. 22 was still hard to find but 9mm I would buy local so you can see what stores will treat you right vs what ones not to bother with.
  10. Like others have said there is always hope I am up in NH this week at a seminar andnwhile talking to one of the other guys he was tellingme how he was robbed about 10 years ago. Then out of the blue 3 years later the poilce in mass call him and they had found 3 of his guns in a drug bust. It took a while but once the court case ened he got the guns back.
  11. Hey Guys I just used Tom for doing a transfer of a handgun from my father in law. He was a great guy to deal with and the transaction could not have been better. He even waited a week for me since my permits were not in yet. Also had a decent conversation of an old Firearm I have, that he also happens as well to have including some abscure ammo, this definately caught me of guard. Thanks.
  12. Very Sorry unfortunately too many of use have also been in your postion many times and continue to do so because we still love our pets.. I have lost a few pets in my life and it never gets any easier.
  13. I just took a friend from Holand that was staying with us over to RSTP and they used his passport as an ID and allowed us to shoot together. The only downfall was this was his first time shooting and he did better then me...LOL
  14. WOW I would have jumped all over that as well congrats.
  15. Yep any time I have had a backorder from Cabelas it has always shown up may be a few week or a month but you do usually get it.
