  2. Ok, thank you. From what I understand, we need to have a fixed stock in NJ. Skelton style...????
  3. Ok, first... I want to start this off with I have searched and combed through pages and pages of posts without indications as to whether I can or not. Much of the information I have found is from a few years ago and none of it explicitly states whether "yes" or "no" can be determined. Here is the scenario. I am looking to purchase a complete upper receiver https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-10-5-pistol-length-300aac-blackout-1-8-nitride-9-lightweight-m-lok-freedom-upper-with-bcg-ch-516446429.html and I have a stripped lower but none of the other parts to complete the build. However, I do have another complete rifle in the house on the AR Platform - fully compliant. Here are my understandings of the law right now: It must be 26" when complete It must have a 16" barrel when it is a "rifle" Must be pinned and welded There is a 50oz regulation for completed firearm Thank you in advance for your guidance
  4. I know the concept has been around... I was shopping around for my son's team. Everything costs money or didn't offer enough features for the free versions... that's why this started.
  5. Hey guys... I wanted your opinion on this. I recently started a new website that allows sports teams to sign up and have a free web page for their sports team. It is open to football, shooting, hockey, baseball, and all other sports. I haven't rolled it out to everyone yet, but I wanted the good folks of NJ to check it out and kind of beta test it for me (I am in NJ). There is a free option and a premium option. Features Rosters Coaches Events & Directions Pictures News Posts and tons more. http://pointblanksports.com Let me know what you think and sign up if you want to.
  6. I actually sort first by "in stock". As far the parts are concerned... I read before I buy. If I buy something that is more expensive than another product it is for a very specific reason. If I am going to spend my money...i am going to get what i perceive to be the best I can get for the money I am spending. I am not in a rush to put this together, so if it takes me a year to source the parts I want (based on cost and availability). I am fine with that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
  7. I think I decided on the Daniel Defense Modular Rail 12.0 or the Midwest Industries G2 SS 12. https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems/modular-float-rail/modular-float-rail-12-0.html http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=450

  9. Alright guys... show me your legos I have TONS... Here is a taste
  10. I saw that... looks good, but I actually enjoy researching the parts and will enjoy further the experience of piecing it all together.
  11. Alright... I finally figured it out. First, from everything I have read, it is easy to build an AR. Also, it seems to be the best route for getting exactly what I want. With that said, I started the process of researching some things and made two purchases. 1. Spikes Stripped Lower: The reason I chose Spikes is not because of the cool looking spider or the brand recognition. I found a good deal on a stripped lower and from what I gather, many of the lowers are made by the same company anyway... then branded. 2. VLTOR MUR-1A Upper: I haven't found a bad statement about these anywhere. While researching uppers, many are the same and I just happened to come across a site that had the MUR-1A in stock. At that point, research ended and I impulse clicked the buy button. Perhaps I should have done a bit more research, but eff it. -------------------------------------------------- There are a few other items that I have made a decision on as well. 1. Palmetto State Armory LPK-GMOE: I have read nothing but raving reviews about the Geissele Super Semi Auto Trigger 2. Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock: I like this option better than a Skelton. -------------------------------------------------- Obviously there is a lot more I need to purchase. That is where you guys come in... suggestions?
  12. I don't find the takedown to be difficult... Easier than a cz75b. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free

  14. I bought 1000 of them... I thought they were very good. Then again, I am new to shooting. I can tell you this... Gun was cleaner after shooting these than shooting UMC or Whitebox.
  15. Great! Then I will have an assault knife to go along with my assault dog that rides with me in my Assault Truck

  17. Agreed... I always have a knife on me. We are talking about camping... how many times have people been killed "just for fun" while camping ? Look, some of the best people I have met, I have met while camping. Far fewer whackjobs camping than in my experiences... weird people.. sure. Killers... don't think so. Well, then again... I usually go camping with a dozen or so "ninjas".
  18. How much of a threat do you think you will encounter while camping? In your home, you have plenty of goods that someone may want. While camping... I would give up your percolator and call it a day. Me = New to guns, but I have 32 years of Martial Arts training (I am 36). I tell people... run or give the perps what they want.
  19. Well, there are some things here that need to be addressed. 1. Most security systems have a dedicated "server" where they store the video. Unfortunately, sometimes these are in a proprietary format and exporting the video can be cumbersome 2. How many cameras are you looking for? 3. What is your budget? 4. Are these cameras going to be exposed to water? You could look into a inexpensive solution like I put together in my businesses. I have an Asustor NAS with surveillance station software installed that monitors 4 DLINK DCS-932s with night vision. The system is recording on movement and is accessible from anywhere in the world. Also, these cameras support an android / iOS app from for mobile viewing. They are inexpensive. The NAS also serves all my data needs as well as the surveillance needs. Just something to consider... NAS Review: http://computingondemand.com/NAS-detail/asustor-as-608t/ Surveillance software on NAS: http://www.asustor.com/admv2?lan=en&type=3&subject=18⊂=64&lan=en#content PM me if you want more info... I don't sell anything. Just an IT consultant.
  20. You can run the Windows install disk. Most of your programs should still work... I have used this in the past but I prefer to clean install. I also store NOTHING on my pc... everything on NAS (6 of them totaling 100TB - WOOT!) http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/reinstall-windows-7-changing-personal-settings-installed-programs-drivers/
  21. Let's start a "pay off the politicians" fund... I will contribute.
