  1. Unless I only have long guns in my car right? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. So does this mean I can make a detour for pizza after shooting at CJRPC? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I haven't seen a post on this but since I am traveling to Florida in a few days, I may hit up some gun shops and Bass Pro and if they have, for example, 22lr in stock I may buy some to take home. I know they need to be in check in luggage but since there will be no firearms do I need to declare it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. We don't have to be a majority voting block. In a state (scratch that, as a COUNTRY) where voter turn out is laughable, the margin of victory is substantially less than 10%. Obama won 51.1 versus 47.2% against Romney. If every single gun owner came out and voted against the anti gun politicians in Trenton (and we will assume only about 45% typically turn out based on average voter turnouts) that means at least 6% more votes for the pro gun politicians then that is enough to vote out the antis out of office... 5. I went for the Sig p229-22 which *is* made by Sig. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Seems that Dominski has shot before and although not a gun owner, says he supports 2a, and Doyle who is not a gun owner, also supports the right to bear arms. Both guys typically make a lot of sense and this makes me more a fan of them now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Being discussed on NJ 101.5, and surprisingly they are being quite logical and picking apart Weinberg... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Absolutely right. I was on my way out the door for a birthday party and didn't have time to post a complete response. But in essence Russia is breaking a legal agreement they signed off on to guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty yet here they are now getting ready to invade. Putin's words and promises are worthless and empty and set a bad example for nuclear disarmament. Can you imagine how a North Korea would react now if we "promised" a legal agreement to guarantee their sovereignty if "they disarmed" all nukes, same for the Irans of the world? It's never going to happen now. My wife says there are bare empty holes in the ground where Yanakovich ripped out military weapon and sold them off for his own profit and now Ukraine is near defenseless. It's a terrible situations for Ukrainians (but great for Russians who want to annex the country)...kind of reminds me of the people who want to disarm 2A rights under the guise that "we will all be safer." Yeah, sure...
  9. Depends on who you speak to. My wife is Ukrainian, she moved her 5 years ago and she has extensive family there as well as friends, as do I (I would travel there and stay there for months at a time, one of my best friends is an officer in the army stationed in Kiev). To a person they all denounce what Putin is doing and say the situation is bad, and the *all* want the US and Europe to step in and help but realize it probably won't happen. They all support the new government and hate the corruption that was going on with Yanakovuch and the $100 billion dollars that disappeared, most of it into Russia and Putin's hands. My wife was part of the Orange Revolution when it occurred not that long ago and many see this as a continuation of that, but probably much more severe. So while you think the new government are fascists (sounds suspiciously like the rhetoric that Putin is spewing out...and it sounds like you are one of the pro Russian faction in Ukraine) the people I know there think they are salvation. Same for other Ukrainians I know in the US that I've spoken to.
  10. That's another reason to never go to Jersey City with my guns. Personally I do not put any trigger locks on my guns, I put them in their cases (which are not locked), ammo in separate container, throw it all in the back of my car (hatchback). As far as I can tell I am following the letter of the law... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Okay I know about transporting firearms within the state - only to and from home - place of business, range, shooting event, or hunting. Similarly if you wanted to go to another state you should show that you are going to a range or hunting (such as in PA). How about if you have a carry permit for the state of PA (or other neighboring state) which of course allows you to drive around these other states carte blanche for the most part (exceptions of course being gun free zones) without fear of reprisals. Is it legal then to simply make a beeline for the PA border with carry permit in wallet without any intent of going to a range/hunting area in this case? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Glad I listened to you guys...left my Cabelas order open and just got half of the order yesterday. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I just thought of a question brought on by another thread where a scenario was described in that if a friend came over to my house and I let him/her handle any of my firearms that this would be considered an illegal transfer as there is no exception for it in the laws. So... 1) Say I'm at the range. If I let a friend shoot any of my firearms, is that illegal and subject to prosecution? 2) I have a pistol in a safe at home for home defense purposes. An intruder breaks in when I'm not home and my wife is forced to use the gun to defend herself. Is this an illegal transfer? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Wouldn't #4 be a case of illegal transport as you are not transporting your firearms between your home and either a place of business, hunting or a range? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. That's true but IMHO better to start small. Some women may surprise you but if it turns out she's not as game as you think she may be turned off forever. My wife shot the 22 and my 6920 on the same day when she started and she hated the noise and recoil from the Colt. She tells me now that if I'd started her on the Colt she would have quit right then and there. But because I started her on the 22 she loves to shoot and she will probably try competition one of these days. Do you want to take a chance with a 12 gauge that you could forever turn her off the sport if you've misjudged her gameness? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. My wife is 5'1" and 102 lb soaking wet. I started her on a Ruger 10/22 and she loved it. She didn't care for my 6920 but after a few range sessions she wanted to shoot the 223 and she liked it. She then won't straight to my Sig 229 9mm and she loves to shoot that. I'm getting a second p229 for her in a couple of weeks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Sounds good, I'll let my order stand then, I was considering canceling it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Just checked my order status, show in process but if I dig further it shows all the ammo as being back ordered...oh well, was too good to be true. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Looks like still in stock. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  21. About .08 a round, both 36 and 40 grn. No limit as far as I can tell but I only picked up a couple of bricks...didn't want to be greedy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I'm more curious about the mention of fishing...and what firearm you may be permitted to carry while fishing... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. In looking at the statute, we have (2) A person carrying a firearm or knife in the woods or fields or upon the waters of this State for the purpose of hunting, target practice or fishing, provided that the firearm or knife is legal and appropriate for hunting or fishing purposes in this State and he has in his possession a valid hunting license, or, with respect to fresh water fishing, a valid fishing license; (3) A person transporting any firearm or knife while traveling: (a) Directly to or from any place for the purpose of hunting or fishing, provided the person has in his possession a valid hunting or fishing license; or Does this mean we can carry a firearm while fishing? Per the section above, what firearm is "appropriate for hunting and fishing purpose" in NJ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. That's them, now I just have to wait for global warming to bring up gators to NJ. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
