  1. Absolutely. If Bigmoves11 would be so kind as to put in for a permit or two and keep us posted about the results, I'm sure that his receipt of said permits would encourage others to follow suit.BTW, to the OP, thanks for "taking one for the team."
  2. Mipafox got it right (looks like we're in a similar line of work), lead if not the hazard it's made out to be and is more easily remediated than most other hazards if the need were there.Just keep it out of the water and you should be fine.
  3. That's what I asked earlier. Anyone know what happened to Ricky Lee Abercrombie? He was arrested in Springfield on 9/11/14 but I can't find any info other than the article on page 9 of the Springfield Patriot (Sept 2014).
  4. That's what happens when we make one case stand out, eventually it will come to a quiet end. I have to wonder how many people face the same charge without us hearing about it. While Shaneen Allen sat in jail, my local paper ran a story about a truck driver from Texas who had just been arrested under similar circumstances. Will Christie pardon him too? How many others are there?
  5. I gotta admit it, I get a chuckle every time someone makes the assumption that a republican is always pro-2A. Christie is an anti, period. He doesn't discuss gun legislation if he can avoid it because he is not be onboard with his party's position. I know it's easy to generalize that republicans are pro-2A and democrats are antis, but there are always exceptions and Christie is one of those exceptions. His record may be worse than Obama's, ( Obama signed off on carry in national parks and on Amtrak trains, what has Christie done?) Give up on Christie, he's done nothing for us and doesn't plan to change anything.
  6. I've only started reloading since New Years and have had no problem getting powder. In fact, just the opposite. As suggested above, I made a list of a half dozen powders that would work for me and when I got to GSA, they had all of them. I made the mistake of not listing preferences and had to remember what would be the top of the list.
  7. This is NJ, we'll get behind anything that has the slightest chance of changing the status quo.
  8. The Glock magazine is not outside the grip, only one evil feature.
  9. You could try to get this up on one or more of the petition sites. I bet you'd get a ton of signatures from people who won't take the time to send the emails. That, combined with the email campaign, would add to the pressure on Trenton.
  10. I work with drums for a living and have seen firsthand what can happen when they are stored improperly. I have seen steel drums burst from the pressure caused by temperature changes and I've also seen them collapse. Do NOT top off the drum all the way up if you want to store it unvented. Liquids expand and contract with temperature changes but they don't compress like gasses do. A drum filled in the winter can easily burst if exposed to summer temperatures. Likewise, a drum filled in the summer can collapse in on itself when the temperature drops. It is indeed best to seal the drum up tight, but a drum is considered full when the liquid is 2" below the bottom of the bung, 3-4 inches would be even better. Better still, get a poly (plastic) drum, there's a reason you can't buy a metal gas can anymore.
  11. Stopped in at GSA again today and picked up a pound of Bullseye. There were still a couple more on the shelf, along with about 20 other powders. Just be aware that they will be closed next week.
  12. GSA had bullseye when I was in there a week ago. IIRC, $28.99.
  13. I've been wondering about this myself. The part that worries me is, what happens when you take it out for a spin around the bay? Isn't it a vehicle at that point? IIRC, a boat needs to have a berth, a head, and a galley (a hotplate may cover it) to qualify as a second home for tax purposes. At least that's what I was told when I first started claiming a boat as a deduction a couple decades ago. In my case, I can produce a lease for the slip (electric and water included), cable bill and boat loan documentation. As I said, the problem may be that I can also produce a registration from DMV.
