  1. OK, I get it. I wasn't following how he listed it in that case. But the number 742 doesn't seem to foot. Doesn't matter though. It's still close. One thing I'm seeing is it looks like most if not all of the Repubs who lost by small margins aren't running this time around. They're not in the certified primary list. Unless they don't need to be on that list because of number of candidates. Then again, the list of primary candidates doesn't seem to warrant having a primary given there are only 5 districts showing more than 2 candidates from each party. Another thing to consider is were there any districts where republicans barely won?
  2. Maybe Lagana changed party? Or it's his brother? The other losers seem to be Rs.
  3. Wait a minute. In district 38, Eustace and Lagana are both registered as Dems in this year certified primary list. The republicans listed this year are Dipisa and Cappola. Down below you have Eustace beating Lagana by 742 votes. That looks like a primary. Newtonian, where is this list from?? The info I have is linked above from the state election site. The others that lost aren't listed this year as far as I can tell. I'd have to do more research to ID them as Dem or Repub.
  4. Primary candidates. http://www.njelections.org/2015-results/2015-certification-of-primary-candidates.pdf
  5. I still think starting smaller has more chance of success. The 40,000 to 60,000 vote figure is daunting. There are competitive districts that 100 volunteers, or even 25, would be a meaningful resource. I don't even know who's running in any of the districts. We should find out who they are and contact them about supporting them. We would need to know how they stand on issues... Last thing we want is to have a dem who voted against the 10 rnd mag bill lose to an R that did or would vote for it. Something else I am not sure about is when some sort of registration is required. I know it is if we take in money. That's another reason I thought working with an established campaign could make certain things easier. But if all we're doing is knocking on doors or making calls, we may not need to deal with any and the state election board rules or FEC rules if they even apply in these state elections.
  6. Ok, so I will test the process with my licenses from 1976 and 1977. I have my CID so will be taking my old Bow license and shotgun licenses to Howell Gun Works. I wanted to be able to use the local WMA range, so we'll see what happens. I may actually hunt again. Tired of bagging deer with my vehicles.
  7. On PA and Dem state... I think it's Philadelphia County that tips the scales there. And maybe Allegheny County. Take those out and you get an R Prez vote every time. Point being, the majority of counties I think are populated by R's. Also, area of Easton is leaning D lately if I recall correctly. If you look at it geographically.
  8. This Army training video on YourTube explains the details of the mechanical operations of the pistol. It includes some cut-away views that are kind of neat. Classic military training video.... had to laugh at the soundtrack. It covers some of what the OP is talking about. But skips over a few things. Kind of interesting regardless.
  9. I'd suggest "General Discussion". Have to at least be registered to see it.
  10. I thought these only came in quantities of 6 ??? 10 doesn't make any sense. Wait..... They make guns too?
  11. If this 1st Ammend. Lounge isn't the right place for this, and we can't move this thread, a new thread should be started somewhere. General Discussion is probably a good place. Newtonian. That's probably your thread to (re)start. Thanks for this detailed info.
  12. Signed up? I'm looking at the SoL Facebook page and I see an initiative to get 80 people to run in primaries. I don't see anything else to sign up for. What exactly did you sign up for and where? Maybe because I don't have a Facebook account.
  13. Cans and plastic bottles ok. Glass not ok. Mil ID, active LEO gets you $30 off membership. But anyone can shoot.
  14. Right. Forgot that detail. I guess that's how I ended up scheduling an 8 hour pistol course that Sunday. Thnx. Checking the link.
  15. As far as a plan, here is my suggestion for a way to start. 1) Start by agreeing that we will start with one district. Some factors are likely success and location of volunteers. If enough people volunteer and their locations work, add more districts. 2) Start of list of volunteers and what amount of time they think they will have. This can be a locked thread managed by an admin who volunteers to update it. 3) Gather some ideas for what we will actually be doing. Door to door? Phone calls by volunteers? USPS mail? Email? ...???? 4) Are we solo or do we seek out a campaign group to work with? 5) Decide if there are specific jobs some people need to handle. Recording, and whatever else there is to do. That's one way to start. I've never been involved in any sort of campaign deal so maybe someone has more specific ideas or knows what works best. Have at it.....
  16. Ok... Could an admin move this to the General Discussion forum? I suggest that since it exclude guests and I assume, web crawlers like google.
  17. As long as it's not the 24th I'm in. I suppose the 4th round is on me. Doesn't matter which county for me. Sons of Liberty sounds interesting. Is that an actual tavern? Agenda is the recall and fall elections? ...and beverages...??
  18. Probably. Must save the children from evil bullet plaques.
  19. If you have a target stand that's helpful, but for $3 you can buy a couple of types of 18 W x 36 H targets backed with rigid poster board mounted on a stake. They have other smaller targets as well. There's a post hole digger there if you need it. I think it's the ranges anyway. Avoid positions 1, 2 and 3. Unless you like being buzzed constantly by wood borer bees. Those are wood structure lanes. 4 and up are covered with a big steel roof. I didn't see bees there. Drove my daughter crazy but she still shot. The entrance is easy to miss. Smallish brown sign says range 14 on it. Turn there. Take a look at google maps. There's other military ranges in the area. You'll know when you're close. Good place to shoot. A little sandy. Wear boots. You back your vehicle up to your spot. Other rules... Weapons cased except at shooting position. You need to use a chamber flag. They sell a bunch of bright pull ties for $1 that will suffice if u need some. They provide pretty good instructions during cease fires. You should have no problem with the rules. And you can have three or four guests with you. So no need to pay membership for wife or kids. Just guest them and pay the $4 per hour for them. Have fun.
  20. I was poking around on the NJ2AS site and didn't see anything. I logged in to be sure I wasn't missing anything. This thread reeks of kitty litter. Maybe start a new one? Plus, we're also talking about GOTV. That needs it own thread I think if it's going anywhere.
  21. Ok, that's encouraging to hear. Hat tip to you Alex.
  22. I think this sort of thing would be done in conjunction with the campaign committee of a given candidate. That way no organization needs to be formed. The people involved would just work as volunteers for a campaign committee. I think any candidate would welcome 25 volunteers willing to spend time working their district. And it would be made known that our "issue" is the right to bear arms. The other thing that occurs to me is that 6 or 7 candidates might be way too much for the willing people here to work on. I think it's more likely to be effective with a smaller target. And that target may be just one. What ever happens needs to be achievable. If the bar is set too high, I think we're kidding ourselves. If there were 100 people here willing to really put time in, then maybe I'm wrong. That would be great. But people have stuff they have to do. Life is busy. A lot crap to deal with every day and any given district will be a long way from some people wanting to get involved. Another way to act is run automated GOTV calls. Before anyone says that's a horrible idea, I can tell you that if it's done right.... and right costs money... it does have an effect. A known person records the message and the message is well written and brief. But the money is a concern. Batches of 5000 calls run into the thousands of dollars. But... it's an alternative to hitting the streets. My thoughts....such as they are.
  23. lol Jeepster. I forget why we still have this law, code.. whatever it's called. Thought maybe about some past lawsuit. Not sure. But it does keep those Wawa guys employed. It is in line though with our over-bearing government. If we are allowed to pump our own, how will they do it? An open Carry permit for a Pump nozzle? Will it be a May issue... or Shall issue? And based on what? What will the fees be? Will training be required? Will there be limits on how many gallons? 10 max ... or 15 max? OR do we get 30 like other states? Will we have to subsidized the laid off pump jockys? Retrain them to be hair stylists or massage therapists? This IS new jersey... so.....
