  1. Target Sports has Hornady Superformance Match 223 Remington Ammo 73 Grain ELD Match for $0.87/rd.
  2. Figured this thread is useless without pictures. First picture is 6 shots with the reloads. Second picture was second 5, AE. First picture was my first 5 at 100 yards with AE.
  3. Finally got to try some reloads my friend gave me to try out. He gave me rounds he loads for his Ruger American Predator to see how the loads would do for my Ruger American Ranch. His Predator has a 22" barrel, 1:8 twist, chambered in .223 rem. My Ranch has a 16.12" barrel, 1:8 twist, chambered in 5.56 NATO. Basically, he wanted to see the effect of the shorter barrel on his round. Went to the range last night, brought 20 rounds of my Wolf Gold, 40 rounds of my American Eagle 62gr BT, and the 6 rounds he gave me. Some nice Sierra Matchking bullets in the reloads. Used my Wolf to warm up at 50 yards. Was shooting off a rest instead of prone, but unfortunately, couldn't find the rear rest in my car so I needed to adjust. Used the AE at 50 and 100 yards. Let my rifle cool down, then finished with the reloads. It's amazing how much of a difference it all is. I already notice a fair difference between the Wolf and AE rounds even shooting inside. But these rounds were a serious step up. The precision with these rounds was just damn good. Even my flier wasn't far off by any means. Definitely felt some more heat come off from those rounds but I'm focusing more on quality of quantity of shots. I really, really need to get into this. I'm not looking to save money (Though I was eyeing all that brass they were sweeping up at the end of the night. Might try to ask about grabbing some next time I go though I doubt I'll get a positive response.). But it's definitely the kind of thing I could learn to super enjoy. Being a chemist, that kind of precision preparing of getting the right amount of grains, perfect seating of the bullet, testing them. It sounds so fun and rewarding.
  4. FYI, if any app has malware, turning off your phone might not be enough. There's malware out there that can turn on your phone, turn on your camera, record sound through your speaker without a single visual difference.
  5. Right...Honestly, I'd say it's more likely they record everything than not. Just like all those apps we download on our phone. Apps for flashlights that need permissions to phone calls, video, photos, etc.
  6. Loved Mark Wahlberg in that. A lot of the other cast I just found annoying. Big fan of Kate Mara.
  7. Have fun everyone! Beautiful day with just enough wind to make it interesting.
  8. That's a two hour drive. Quicker to just go to PA at that point.
  9. Personally, I'd like to see some catching up as inflation is catching up with a lot of people who don't have much as is. Looks like post taxes, the bottom 90% are getting their asses kicked.
  10. Your future is capped based on what part of the economic ladder you are born into. The extreme majority of people born in poverty will end up in poverty never having a chance to move up.
  11. Let's say it is the most basic job. Well the most basic income should support a basic living.
  12. I enjoyed the Red Cross's training for CPR/AED. The trainer did a great job teaching everything. Plus if you are a business owner, you might be able to get discounts on insurance for your company if you have staff trained. I'm fighting to get first aid included for my company. It's the kind of thing where seconds can count. I was fortunate enough to take the Army's combat life saving course which I hope to God I'll never need. But some of the main points would apply to any situation: Don't remove or move any objects stuck in them. If it's bleeding, pack the wound and apply pressure. If they are in immediate danger of more damage (like car on fire, etc.), move them behind cover, then continue with treatment until help arrives. An in-person class makes a huge difference though. Actually physically practicing it is a big confidence booster seeing that you can do it. And basic first aid can make a huge difference when waiting for help to arrive. Great job taking the initiative to learn this stuff.
  13. They don't NEED anything more in return. And they are still getting more by paying more. Better roads, better schools, better healthcare, etc. In the end, someone is getting shafted. But if I have to choose between someone getting their third Ferrari or multiple people having to choose between feeding themselves or their kids, I'm going to say let's go ahead and sacrifice buying that Ferrari. Their quality of life won't be drastically affected by having one less supercar. But let's go ahead and look at your Walmart example. $15/hr sure sounds like a lot of money. That's a whopping $31,200/yr. And assuming you'll be given enough hours to qualify for benefits (which I'm sure aren't high quality), that's a budget of $2,400 a month. And for argument's sake, let's pick Camden County since that's the cheapest county to live in for New Jersey: Average cost of a studio: $789/month Food: $273/month Transportation: $773/month Health Care: $346/month (I highly doubt Walmart is giving their lower level employees good options with $0 payments per month) Other necessities: $429/month (Already over budget at this point). Taxes: $482/month Total: $3,091/month or $37,098/year. https://www.epi.org/resources/budget/ So basically you'll never be able to afford your own piece of property. Saving up to get a vehicle is out. Pray to God you never get sick. Never have fun that costs money. And you still come out negative at the end of the year by thousands of dollars. So now you have to get a second job JUST to afford the bare minimum in life. That's bullshit. A full-time job should cover necessary life expenses. And Walmart's benefits are mediocre at best. From cashier to co-manager in 3-5 years? Stop. That is completely unrealistic. Then store manager in 5-7 years? What planet do you live on where you go from the bottom to the top in 5-7 years? If this was a viable plan, everyone would be doing it. Shit, in 7 years max I'll be a store manager making $150-250k/yr? That's better career advancement than most jobs in the US. Did you read about this happening to like one person and assume this would apply to thousands of employees every year? Your plan that will never come true for most people even if they are good employees who work their asses off would just continue to create a larger divide between the rich and people who have jack shit.
  14. I think there are tons of people working 2-3 jobs just to make the bare minimum to survive that aren't getting the help they need to move up in life while there are people buying their own islands and third yachts.
  15. No, I want people who earn way more than everyone else to pay a little more in taxes. I'm not going to lose any sleep if some person can no longer afford a second private jet if it means better public schools, better roads, etc. If you want to benefit from society, you have to at least put a fair share into it. And no where have I ever said anyone should be given something free and not have to work for it. Stop making stuff up as per usual. The people who need help the most are the ones working multiple jobs just to try to keep a roof over their heads. Not the ones sitting on their asses all day benefiting from what they "earned" by being born from rich parents. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/4/16/17215874/tax-brackets-100-years-chart There you go, history of tax brackets made easy. Interesting how as tax brackets declined for the filthy rich, the growth of the middle class stopped.
  16. My definition is correct. We can tax the wealthy higher than we do now by a fair amount and they will still be drastically richer than the rest of us while there is a lesser burden on the middle and lower class. It's what America did in years past when the middle class was flourishing.
  17. That definition does not describe, at all, all these dumbass examples. Socialism isn't spreading the wealth evenly. Socialism is sacrificing a little so the disadvantaged can get a chance to get themselves up without taking everyone's money and making them poor. If socialism worked that way, why do all these countries with high amounts of socialism still have rich people?
  18. Which is nothing like the other "studies" or whatever is posted about kids sharing grades. Ensuring that our next Einstein can still get an education even if they can't afford it? How reasonable. I see nothing wrong with ensuring quality education for those who maintain the grades to continue on. That's how most of the first world does it.
  19. No, it's not. The examples in this thread are of communism, not socialism. Socialism would be you pay for the class and the teacher gives extra attention to those who are struggling.
  20. God this post is so facepalm worthy. So because I listen to Fox News headlines on satellite radio, that's it? I read multiple sources to get information on what's happening. And not from sites that show their bias in their names like a lot of what I see get posted.
  21. I listen to Fox News Headlines on satellite radio. It's exactly what I want where they just go over headlines and skip the biased analysis part that all news stations do. All major networks are biased. That's just how the news has become these days. People focus more on the news if there's shocking topics that get them angry. Most are full of shit.
