  1. Added the lanolin to my amazon cart.. The 99% alcohol looks like a near impossibly during these times.. At least a reasonable normal size container at a reasonable price... Whats the odds regular old 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol would work?? I have an old bottle been laying in the bathroom for a few years.. Also lastly, what kind of mix ratio of the Lanolin and alcohol into the spray bottle?
  2. Source?? Is this someting the local chain pharmacy would have on the shelf??
  3. What are you using for a the wet tumbling device??
  4. Good thing about being forced out of work and stuck home.. i was able to get two boxes off the mailman's truck.. First box was the long lost Lyman turret press.. Took close to week to get from RI to NJ.. I knew post office was operating way behind.. Good news is, the primer arm was included! Still new in a sealed bag with set screws, allens, etc.. The entire press, all the parts, and even the two sets of dies appear to be hardly ever used.. Near new.. Even has all the original paperwork in the original packaging and box.. Im happy! Second box gets a huge shout out to @Tunaman !!!! Inside is what appears to be brand new unused Lee perfect powder measure on stand and Lee beam scale.. Ive said it once, ill say it again.. You meet the best people here on NJGF's! Thanks Tunaman! I owe you one!!! Ron
  5. Just submitted for 3 permits now.. Wish me luck.. have a private sale pistol sitting at my FFL for about 5+ weeks now.. it was sitting on OGAM jail.. Came out of jail ON the saturday that NICS was shutdown that evening.. thought we snuck it in just in time. By the time it came back, gun stores were forced shut.. FFL was finally set to open and my last permit was about to expire. FFL had a sad and unfortunate death in the immediate family and had to postpone the transfer.. Permit expired in that time frame, so here i am.. waiting who knows how many more weeks just to pick up a used gun i bought end of february... ughhh
  6. Stock brokers? TD Ameritrade has been great as i recentley began dabbling what amounts to gambling money for some short term stocks..
  7. How does this compare the MEC650? Just a newer version? something that makes it better than the 650? wish you were closer! Thats one caliber i will be reloading once im all setup, and that i dont currently have brass for..
  8. looks like a nice addition someday down the road if/when i get to loading a lot of a specific caliber.. shoot, i just went back into the email and found the last one you sent.. The past two weeks, ive had so many different conversations and deals brokering between here, MeWe, Reddit, etc, i got a bit overwhelmed.. And i also have bought and spent way more than i have should of already.. So haev to hold off on any more purchases for awhile.. Self employeed, forced out of work.. and no trump check yet, and no aprovved unemployment from the state.. Crazy. No income for over a month forced by the government, and no compensation or help yet either... but thats a topic for another thread
  9. Above and beyond generous! Some of the best people around hang out here in NJGF!
  10. Let me know how much for the powder measure and scale.. This press will serve me well! Looking forward to its arrival.. This guy makes it look so easy! lol But it shows how well this press will work when setup right.. i wonder what auto bullet feeder and what auto powder measure drop that is?
  11. as i looked more closely at the pictures (after i already bought it! lol) i dont see the priming parts, so i doubt they are there or included.. but upon firther google reading up on this press this evening, it seems the consensus is the priming system isnt very good or reliable and most people use a hand primer instead.. So maybe ill keep an eye out for one. If i decide to go with a press mounted one anyway, a standard universal press adapter fits this press and many others. Same design on the rcbs, etc etc.. The rcbs universal press adapter is only about 15-20$, and then the tubes and upper parts about another 20$.. Starting to second guess myself if i jumped the gun too soon on this one.. Most reviews seemed good, but as i dig deeper, seems the general consensus is the lee classic turret over this one. The small flex in the turret of the Leyman isnt ideal for rifle rounds, but does work great for pistol rounds. I do like the idea of the 6 stations as opposed to the 4 on the Lee. But spare turrets for the Lyman are double the price of the Lee. But hey, once im set up and running, none of it will matter or be much of a thought when its making rounds. Did some reading on powder measurers. Seems the lyman 55 is probably the best bang for the buck in the used market..?
  12. Im ready and we are there as soon as this shit ends and the range opens back up!! looking forward to it!
  13. Ok @Tunaman im holding you to it! What kinda of great deals you got for me on the accesssories i will need??? Cause i made an offer and the seller accepted.. I havnt bought on ebay for awhile, and didnt realize ebay tacks NJ sales tax on all the items at checkout.. So with shipping and tax i have 198$ into this.. Ironically, last week i had bought a near new RCBS 38/357 carbide die set.. This Leyman setup comes with a set too.. So the RCBs ones i just bought will end up in my trades list.. Hope i made a wise buy.. I see the redesigned T-Mag II press can be had online for about 190$ plus shipping etc.. So i have about the same into this one with the two die sets.. Anyone know the changes between the original T-Mag and the newer T-Mag II ??
  14. I hear that!! Just my luck.. I finally join a range for the first time in my life, I start acquiring more guns and ammo to start taking up shooting more as a hobby, and WHAMO.. fkn Chinese virus hits and shuts everything down....
  15. Whats everyones thoughts on this deal?? Is this a much better press than the lee classic turret?? This used Leyman comes with two sets of dies i dont need.. Then of course i still need all the other items that the Lee classic turret kit comes with.. Scale, powder measure, etc etc... But in the long run, if i slowly acquire used leyman/RCBS/etc equipment, will i be much better off? Even going all used, ill have more $ in the used stuff than the new lee kit.. Heres a link to what im looking at.. Hopefully no SOB reads this and swipes it! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Lyman-T-MAG-Reloading-Set-up-Press-w-38-Spec-357-44-Magnum-Spec-Dies/254569212107?hash=item3b4581e8cb:g:uqQAAOSw1mZdn3av:sc:USPSPriority!08562!US!-1
  16. Here’s today’s score for 110$... i think I did well...
  17. You guys are killin' me! Guilt trip on.... Did a quick search and it looks like i could get a 8# and 4# can online, with shipping, and hazmat for about 235$... Whats the opinion on powder shelf life?? this is definitley a sealed 12# drum; but it is IMR branded, made in canada, before Hodgdon bought out IMR.. My search shows this canada made stuff was really well liked and sought after.. But if im reading the date code right, it appears this is a 2003 manufacturer date.. Its been stored properly and sealed.. Any reason for there to be concern? What about once i open it? How long will it last. It would take me a longggggggggggg time to use this up... I would be happy to share, but like has been mentioned, not many people will trust buying into an open container.
  18. at one point he says he had about 60 bags.. down to a handfull of each shot size.. Agree on the keg.. but im just starting to acquire things for reloading; havnt actually even started reloading yet.. Just seems overkill to jump on such a large quanity of supplies.. Hell, ive own guns my whole adult life, yet i wouldnt say im much of a shooter YET.. My intent is to make it a much more frequent hobby, but not there yet.. If it wasnt for the financial hit and hardship from the current state of affairs, i probably would have tried to setup a price point with the seller just to buy out all his remaining stock.. Just cant swing that right now and a self employeed one man show who is forced out of work right now...
  19. Thanks John!!! You know i have to keep my public and social media squeeky clean...
  20. Definitely a 12 pounder.. I had to google it up myself. they used to make and sell that size.. then DOT regs changed and that size could no longer be shipped, so they stopping offering the 12# kegs...
  21. awwww c'mon @Shocker Just having a lil' fun... trust me, even without her front teeth, shes still way prettier than me.. Im darn near as ugly as my avatar shows.... Even attempting a good smile, im still no pleasure to look at...
  22. Holy chit Dave! So sorry to hear this but glad you pulled through! If it was this virus, then your damn lucky and were probably inches from death... ughhh
  23. found a local guy selling 25# bags of Lawrence brand magnum shot in 7.5,8, and 9. For a newbie reloader, making up non=competitive skeet shells, would a bag of 7.5's and a bag of 8's be a wise buy?? 30$ a bag.. also grabbing 800 small pistol primers, a sealed 1# blue dot and a sealed 1# 2400 powders. 20$,15$,15$ respectively... he has a sealed 12# keg of 700-X for 180$.. not a bad deal, but im about broke from being out of work.. not to mention 12# would last a me wayyyy longer than really necessary!
  24. scorp, I had planned on making that trip there right before this covid virus bullchit really started in.. I def get there once things settle down about.. Its only about 40 mins from me, and 10 mins from where my daughter keeps one of the horses and train with her instructor.. hoping to possible score the long primer tube for my MEC 650 that has the old style primer feed system.. And old dusty place is just about right for finding something like that...
