jr65 0 Posted March 22, 2010 ...forgive if this is already addressed, but I looked and didn't find... Have the rules changed recently regarding re-fingerprinting? Local PD says new printing is required by NJSP if old ones are beyond 6 months. My permit application was rejected since my ID was issued 5 years ago. BUT: NJSP site states that once you're printed and get the ID card, then re-printing is not needed.
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted March 22, 2010 I think this is another one of those examples of the local police making up the rules as they go along. Once printed, all that should be needed is the $18 Criminal Background Check. But, since nobody rides herd on the issuing agencies (local PD's) they can require anything they want. Not worth fighting, but maybe worth talking to a local gov't (municipality) representative. Adios, Pizza Bob
ChrisJM981 924 Posted March 23, 2010 Print out the statute and bring it with you. Surprise surprise more local police making up laws as they go along. I'd really like to know why local chiefs and admin think their residents don't know the law.
Karatenurse 11 Posted March 24, 2010 My co-worker who lives in Edison had to be re-finger printed when he went for his Pistol purchase permit. Thier paperwork says that after 2yrs you need to be finger printed no matter what.
